Really great onsen space! Lovely staff and the breakfast was delicious. Provided shuttle to Jigokudani Park. Great stay at Masuya

The staff was helpful! The included Japanese breakfast was so good!! We had everything we needed. Also they had a shuttle to the snow monkey park! So great!

My stay at Wafu-no-Yado Masuya was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Yamanouchi, this ryokan offers a peaceful retreat with authentic Japanese charm. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm hospitality and impeccable service. Their kindness and attentiveness made me feel truly welcome. The rooms are beautifully designed in a traditional Japanese style, complete with tatami mats and futon beds. I especially loved the private outdoor onsen. Dinner was a highlight: a multi-course meal that showcased seasonal ingredients and exquisite presentation. Every bite was a delight, and breakfast was just as satisfying

Yamanouchi is home to Wafu No Yado MASUYA. Jigokudani Monkey Park is a popular area attraction and if an activity is on the agenda, Shibu and Shiga Kogen Ski Area are worth checking out. Takayakushi Wakoan and Biande Shinshu Nakano are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including snowboarding, hiking/biking trails, and skiing.
