DoubleTree by Hilton Mt. Vernon

We went to the first rooms and one was used the other wouldn’t open. The second set of rooms both doors were standing open and the pillows were lying in a chair with no pillowcases. Called the front desk and told her what we found. She sent someone up with pillowcases and was told they have a shortage of pillowcases so maids leave the rooms to come finish but usually don't but yet mark the rooms as ready so front desk books them. Also, the pool was filthy. Breakfast was awesome. I also wanted to speak with management but never heard from anybody. Definitely overpriced with these issues.

Pool area needs cleaning and repair, the pool water was very cold.

Daytime front desk associate was not friendly or pleasant. Evening associate was phenomenal. The hotel room was nice, the spa and pool left a lot to be desired, the spa was green and the pool was cold.

After locking in on a decent price in Expedia, we were surprised to learn, upon arrival, that the Doubletree was charging an additional $40 PER room (we booked 2 to accommodate our immediate family) PER night for "incidental damages". That amounted to an extra $240 on my card that could take anywhere from 5-7 days to be reimbursed. Additionally, the hot tub and pool were incredibly dirty. Algae and grime were found in many places in the tile grout in the hot tub (in the pool as well). This made the hot tub a total lose- when our family was really looking forward to enjoying at the end of a few very long days. The staff were excellent. The cookies were tasty. But the facilities lacked to be desired for the $1000 (plus incidental damage deposit!) I spent for 3 days of accommodating my family while in town for a funeral.

The room was dirty, the floor was carpet but in some areas it was sticky? Has to wear shoes the entire time. The mini fridge was broken and lost all the food we put in it, not expensive stuff but leftovers we were looking forward to eating. The pool was a bit dirty, floor cracking and the windows looked as if they haven’t been cleaned since the place was built. The whirlpool had foam floating in it. Overall thumbs down except for the kind employers, Attn MGT! Clean up this place for the employees who work there they deserve it!

Only had one elevator working and the hotel was full

A great place to stay! But please look at the elevator! The elevator is slow and jerks open sometimes.

Our one night stay was wonderful. Pool and hot tub were great. Pool has alot of green algea in the grout, but still was nice. Room was quiet and comfortable. Check in was very nice. Restaurant is great. Our server Lily was excellent. Breakfast was pretty good too.

Staff was great. Bar closed at 10. Only one elevator was working so long waits for it.

This is a Hilton! I expected at least cleanliness! The property is beautiful however, the bathroom vent was caked in dust and disgusting. There was grime & soap scum all ovrr the shower. The shower itself is sleek and stylish but lacks shelving or a toe prop, plus the conditioner hilder was broken off the wall.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was disgustingly dirty. Looked like they never cleaned the carpet or shower.

The lobby was nice and clean when I entered to check in. Didn’t have any issues the young lady at the front desk was very pleasant. She provided me with my room cards, complimentary breakfast tickets, and warm cookies; which were delicious by the way! I got upstairs to my room and when I entered the room the bed was lumpy like the sheets hadn’t been changed. So I moved the covers back and checked the bed one bed was messier than the other as far as how tight the sheets were on the bed. Then I set my bags down and went into the bathroom, there was dried piss all over the toilet seat, the shower floor was dirty the mirrors were nasty. I tried to call down to the front desk and the phone didn’t work so I had to go down to talk to the young lady. I showed her the picture of the seat alone and she switched my room and made my rate $120. I go back upstairs and the room is directly next door I entered the room and went into the bathroom and what is it? The the bathroom is not clean, hair dust and whatever else collects on the material seats not clean at all. Spider webs in the shower. I drove all the way from Chicago for 4 hours and had a prison visit for 4 hours. I just wanted to shower comfortably and get some rest. Instead I was cleaning the bathroom for my comfort. $ 120 a night Motel 6 is cleaner than that. It was totally unacceptable and unfortunate of an experience. Not sure if you have to be a Hilton Honors Member to get a clean room but that was totally unfortunate

Very comfortable beds and very clean

I understand trying to make suites. The perfect suite would be a king in each room, or two queens in each room, tv and a couple of chairs. The carpet was filthy and the bathroom floors had dirty piles of whatever in the corner. I don’t know why it has the score it has. Shower has rust dripping down the wall! Overall rating would be poor!

Rooms need a good cleaning… cobwebs in the corners.

I stayed here to get off the road due to weather conditions and construction making it unsafe to continue my drive home to Indiana, I was coming from San Antonio. The elevator button was broken as was one of the elevators. The room I was in on the 5th floor was absolutely dirty. There were still tweezers under the sink from previous guest. I always do a bed check and there was broken glass between the mattress and headboard, and underneath the mattress, the bedding itself was dirty the furniture in there, nightstands and dressers look like they haven’t been wiped down ever. I was extremely tired and just wanted to sleep. I laid down a hoodie I had and kept the clothing I was wearing on and laid on top of the bedding. The area where the breakfast was held was extremely dirty and the table the lady took me to hadn’t been wiped down. I told her I was going to see what they had and when I walked back to the “buffet” it was a disaster and everything was pretty much empty. She said they would be filling it again. I just went to the desk and checked out and let the desk person know about the room and the breakfast and he said most the people checking out had said the same thing about the dining and the area, he was friendly as was I, it wasn’t his fault but wanted to inform him. I’ve stayed at these hotels in others areas many times before and have never been disappointed. This was by far the worst I’ve ever seen, I would have rather pulled into a truck stop and slept in my car.

This property was great until I was going to shower and the shower was full of hair.

The room was neat and clean and a good size for the money spent

First time at this Double Tree. I found it on the expensive side for what we stayed in room wise. The remote to the tv disnt work, getting into the mini fridge was a fight. Shower could have had more pressure and the bathroom definitely needed more light to shave and get ready. We didnt call the desk, we were tired from traveling and just needed rest. Also the road noise from the interstate was terrible. And housekeeping knocked on our door at 0830 to clean just because we disnt have the sign on the door. Check out was 11.

Great place, clean and very spacious

Nice DoubleTree Hotel. Room was really big. It were 2 rooms as one room. Breakfast was free which was a big bonus.

The person who received us seemed to not like his work 😂 she was in a very bad mood ' and she was very impolite with us ' we were just passing through to another destination for vacations, imagine staying rude vacations instead of there are sheets lying in the corridors and with bad attention ' terrible .

Unhelpful and unfriendly. Started by lecturing us on why we should book directly at the hotel. Staff responded to requests with “What do you want?” Acting like we were interrupting their private call. Inside the room, microwave missing and refrigerator in a cabinet so impossible to open that we had to call to get someone to open it. When we called about stay later, they repeatedly transferred us to a voice mailbox that was full and disconnected us, and seemed exasperated when we called back. Beds were comfortable, but attitude of staff made us feel unwelcome. At this price point would go elsewhere.

We stay here because it's the halfway point for our trips to and from Atlanta. Rooms are comfy and clean, staff is friendly, and of course there's the cookies at check-in. They also allowed us to check in a couple hours early this last stay and that was really appreciated.

Horrible Hilton Employee when I attempted to get my room key. Stupid, Arragant, promoting a volcamic atmosphere. Worst Hilton property which I have stayed at worldwide.

The global IT meltdown down hit as we tried to register, but couldn't. The staff pivoted and switched to pen and paper so we could check in. Only other glitch was our room was not visited by maid service. On day 3 a knock on the door revealed Housekeeping Daviana! She quickly replenished the coffee service and cheerfully cleaned the room. She's a gem.

Darlene at check in was great - overall was pretty fast since I was in a hurry. Best part was the warm cookie she offered me after my lousy dinner across the street - that put a smile on my face. Thanks Darlene! Breakfast buffet was great, server was super friendly. Hotel wise, just walk around and look - there are several areas that need simple attn such as painting of doors, cleanliness, only 1 elevator functional, etc. Little things - just look.

The front desk staff was amazing! Very kind and friendly! Offered cookies when we arrived. There were teens and young adults screaming, hollering, and slamming doors for at least two hours during the night.

I had to change rooms because the lighting in the bathroom was dim and faulty (blinking). The shower had almost no pressure in the morning. The milk I had with the mediocre breakfast was curdled. I had taken one sip and threw it away. Most Double Trees are pretty nice, this one not so much.

We come to Mt Vernon a few times a year and the DoubleTree is always where we stay. Lobby and rooms are always clean and inviting, the staff is friendly, but the reason we always come back is because the breakfast is probably the BEST we have ever had at a hotel. Great place to stay!

Excellent breakfast!

Was excited to stay here with sports bar and restaurant. Food was subpar. Wife order chicken dish over wild rice. Was white rice with a couple specs of wild rice. And the breakfast buffet was a joke. Sounded so wonderful in the amenities description. Had better at a less expensive motel. No pancakes or even waffles!!!! Everyplace has a waffle machine. Waitress in the morning asked if everything was ok as she just walked by, not even stopping. So rude!!! Bartender lady was nice but over burdened. Was nice enough to take off my wife’s meal. Wasn’t looking for that but just wanted to point it out to the kitchen staff. They screwed up the order for the people next to us also. Too bad, like places like this but oh well. And also maybe this my fault when I booked the room, but no tub, wife not happy!!

Outstanding restaurant/Bar service

Pretty dated and a little run down since my last visit a few years ago. Wasn’t a busy weekend, but the main floor bathroom wasn’t stocked or clean, breakfast was just okay, and the bathroom was dingy- dust bunnies in the corners. Lunch in the restaurant was good.

Breakfast was amazing

Beautiful hotel. Comfortable room. Beautiful warm pool and nice hot tub. We had dinner in the restaurant -delicious and reasonably priced. Buffet Breakfast was free and had wonderful selections all served in the restaurant.

Front desk great. Restaurant on property very good.
