For the second year in a row the pool was closed for our entire stay. Very disappointing ! We specifically booked this hotel for the pool so that the kids have something to do at night. They should be at least giving us a discount for not having their advertised services available.

Did not like how the pool was not operating on our 3 day stay. It was a cold August 3 day stay, I have two kids plus we came with a big group totalling 10 kids who did not use the lake due to cold windy days. The same thing happened to us last year. Same group of people coming from Wednesday to Friday did not use the pool because it wasn’t operating. We will not be coming here again next year. We will go somewhere else.

We liked the hotel but we’re disappointed that the hot tub was closed the entire stay and the pool was closed the last two days. We had our young granddaughter with and the reason we chose this hotel was for the hot tub and pool.

Very clean and close to all amenities. Can be very hectic during certain times but pretty good service. Elevator needs some work as its very slow! The pool and hottub were a nice bonus 🙂

Always enjoy our stay here. Only thng was a bit dissapointing was the hot tub wasn't working, wasn't very hot and jets not running. Food was average, no cofffee machines in your rooms, have to request one. Otherwise staff were friendly and stay was pleasant.

This is a very nice place to stay in Sylvan Lake. It is close to everything, but still quiet. There is a nice breakfast provided, but no other dining options on site. The hot tub jets were not working in the pool area.

The receptionist never even said hello jsut asked you checking in? Seemed very unhappy and forced to be There. Inquired why pet fee was so high compared to other hotels he just shrugged his shoulders and said hotel policy bathroom and the main floor area by the pool was very dirty. The pool is constantly closed for maintenance. The room is very outdated with very old carpet and the breakfast is not up to par for a plus hotel have been to different best. Western pluses the breakfast. Here was very terrible.

We've stayed at this hotel many times. My only complaint, is that almost every time, the hot tub has been closed for maintenance. I wish they would tell us that upon booking, or upon arrival even.

Overall everything was great, the proximity to the beach and restaurants is really ideal. Suites itself were clean. The one complaint would be the pool wasn’t open in the mornings due to it being cleaned. My son went down numerous times during our stay to go in the pool in the morning ( around 8 one day and 9 next ) and both days it was being serviced until after 10 am. Everywhere states pool Opens at 6 am so he was disappointed in that. Overall good stay.

This hotel is in an excellent location. It is very clean and updated. The staff are wonderful and great breakfast is included in the price. My only complaint is that part of a luxury of staying in a hotel is having your room made up completely. The rooms are cleaned daily and amenities and towels replenished but the bed is not made! If you have to make your own bed then give a slight discount for each additional night of stay.

The room was good in itself but, i found a smoked cigarette under the edge of the bed. I went to the reception and was told that they would make a note of it. When i checked out i was told that someone would call that afternoon but didn't. I called the next day to asked why no one had cal and was told be the lady that she didn't know to call. When asked what could be done she said, not much as i booked though a third party. She did offer me BW points but i refused as i don't collect them. In my opinion the hotel could have offered a free night but didn't..

Staff did their best, but overall the hotel, and our room seemed run down. The pool was disgustingly cloudy, and the shower water was weird, almost slimy feeling - I don’t know if it’s necessarily the hotel’s fault as the town was on water conservation restrictions when we visited so maybe there was another factor? Still, def some maintenance issues - swollen baseboards in the bathroom, pink algae-like build-up in the grout of the shower, stuff like that.

The room was the cleanest hotel room we have ever stayed in. We have been in many hotel rooms across Canada and the US. The lake view was magnificent and the lighthouse lit up at night was outstanding. The breakfast included in the room cost was delicious. A personalized waffle, tator tots, scrambled eggs and sausage along with a specialized coffee machine which allowed me to enjoy my favourite Americano coffee was a real surprise and treat. The welcome at the front counter was warm and sincere. Will definitely stay again!!

I loved that the property was almost lake front. Stepping out of the room to go to the beach was hassle free, they even have wagons to use to cart your stuff to the beach for the day. I didn’t like that I couldn’t open the windows. I feel claustrophobic when I can’t have fresh air and it’s only circulating air in the building.

Check-in was fast. Staff friendly. We had a large, clean room with 2 queen sized beds. We found it odd that there wasn't a coffee maker in the room. While they offer coffee in the lobby, it is quite inconvenient to take the elevator from the 3rd floor, get the coffee and then go back to your room. A coffeemaker in the room would be much better. In addition, there were no USB ports, or places to plug devices in on the bedside tables. In addition, we would have appreciated one additional bedside table. The shower was rarely warm in the morning, which was disappointing. We didn't try the breakfast. Overall, a decent place, but nothing special.

Our stay was okay. The only issue I had was after we left. I realized on the drive back home that I had left my phone charger and cable plugged in beside the bed. I called the hotel as soon as we get home and explained exactly where it was. They took my number and said they would get back to me as soon as possible. Two days later, after hearing nothing, I sent an email directly to the hotel explaining the situation. It has now been a week and no response. Not a big deal in the overall trip; but customer service is lacking. Such is life.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, and the staff is what made the stay special. The staff at the desk were very nice, always had a smile on their face and were eager and happy to help. Eliana was excellent and very kind and made our stay so much better. We really appreciate her kindness and professionalism. The cleaning staff were great too and very accompdating as we had our dog with us and I was able to coordinate the cleaning of our room as per our schedule. That was thoughtful too. The hotel is very close to everything and I enjoyed my morning walks to the lighthouse and the beach. Theh had all day coffee and tea available, which is hard to find nowadays when you have to pay for every little thing. I enjoyed their coffee machine at breakfast as well.

Everything was good I can’t deny their towels are the whitest cleanest you will find but we stayed 3 nights the complementary breakfast was awful in a way that they served same meal every single morning not only that the breakfast area they only have 4-6 tables for a big crowd . So we had to take our plates and eat in the room on the 3rd morning didn’t even bother went to Timmie’s . Except organizational issues with the breakfast time it was ok overall

Front Desk staff were wonderful and the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was awful because: 1) No syrup for the waffles. When this was brought to the kitchen staff’s attention they just said-“We’ll have to buy syrup at the store” as if this was “A get out jail free card” that made everything fine with no solution. 2) Worst tasting sausages I’ve ever eaten at a Best Western Plus. 3) Ran out bread for toast. Did not bring this to the attention of staff since I already knew from their last answer they simply didn’t care.
