Clean and pleasant stay, nice bar on the roof and friendly staff.

Excellent location, comfy beds, good pool area although extremely busy on a Saturday afternoon with lots of reserved beds not being used.

The rooftop pool and observation deck has beautiful views of the city. It is conveniently located to everything.

Fantastic hotel located on Gran Via, the main shopping road. Rooms are a good size and very clean. Staff were very friendly. In the summer you can use the rooftop pool too.

Excellent hotel, - great rooftop bar, but the service was a bit behind, and the kitchen in the restaurant did not match the level of the rest of the hotel experience.

Received an upgrade to a room one or two categories better, so was very happy with the suite I received. Generally, the hotel is great with a nice interior, especially in the lobby. The elevators are quite old and slow, I spent a long time waiting for them throughout my stay... Food at the restaurant was average and quite pricey for what you get. Gym had very limited options for training and sad that it closes at 9pm already. The roof bar would be interesting but was either closed or too crowded when I headed there... The location next to Gran Via is definitely amazing, couldn't ask for more.

Asked receptionist and was told it was having maintenance done so a huge disappointment The bar prices are double that of all the other bars and restaurants we visited on our three day trip No view from the room would have liked a street view Otherwise staff very friendly and bed comfortable

Rooftop Pool & Bar was excellent! Hotel could use a renovation but overall very pleased with the location & amenities.

Great location and steps from the metro, but you pay for it. Immaculately clean but nothing else about the stay jumped out imo. Pool area was nice but was too cold when I stayed. Can’t fault the hotel for that. Staff at the pool bar/restaurant were rude/dismissive (to me at least)

Very good location but rooms aren’t that clean my child had asthma during our stay and I had rashes around my arms my doctor said could be flees or bug bite reaction after I wore the cover up that I placed in the closet.

Bathroom in need of repairs. shower head handle broken, shower doors leaked to the floor after showering. sink faucet handle leaked also. Walls very thin you can hear the guest in the next room just having a normal conversation.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and was disappointed with the experience. When I first checked in, I found hair and even a contact lens left in the shower, which showed the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned. On top of that, the walls are very thin — around 4am I could clearly hear the guest in the next room showering and singing. It was so loud that I couldn’t sleep well. Overall, the cleanliness and soundproofing were far below expectations, and I would not choose to stay here again.

Es un hotel céntrico con todos los servicios de un 4 estrellas pero necesita renovación urgente, la limpieza va muy justa, la ducha tiene poca presión y las toallas muy desgastadas. Ideal para dormir una noche por trabajo pero no para pasar tres o cuatro días en familia o pareja

No Internet in the room for the whole stay and if it wasn’t for that I’d come back as the location was great !

I think the main things that stood out were the location and a nice hotel lobby. The room was tiny and the interior was outdated. Tiny TV and terrible wifi. Might be good for domestic travelers but the unreliable wifi made it totally not worthwhile for international travelers like us. The elevators are small and often there was a queue 8-9 times out of ten in the lobby.

The room was clean, spacious and gorgeous.

Renovated rooms that were stylish and comfortable and quiet. Only problem was with the TV- would have been good if it was set up for us with English instructions

Hotel is very nice and clean. The biggest problem are the walls are extremely thin and guests shout in adjoining rooms until 2am each night. For the price, a quiet night's sleep should be a minimum.

Great location, spacious room, upgraded bathroom, excellent breakfast. All good except NOISE from upstairs. Sound insulation is horrible. Someone checked in mid-night. Then you heard strong steps, chains movement. The hotel front desk should be a little bit smart. Let earlier check-in guests to take high floor rooms. That is why I give 4 stars.

This property is in the center of it all. Amazing location and surprisingly quiet room. It has this classic look which is nice and beautiful but the rooms are so old and the bathrooms are 70s old. While I do like the classic look of the hotel and rooms are very outdated.

Zimmer mit Aussicht Innenhof und Fenster gegenüber. Kein Sonnenlicht. Man muss Vorhänge zuhaben. Zimmer alt, Matraze dutchgelegen. Badezimmer rénovationsbedürftig. Klima funktioniert nicht richtig Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Lage gut.

Very lovely hotel , with a great rooftop. The room though was small, no window view, straight into a concrete wall and no bathtub.

The Wifi in the hotel and in room never worked. Can’t even search on google using WIFI. TV didn’t work. The bed wasn’t comfortable, mattress was sinked in from the edges and you can easily fall off if you go to the edge of the mattress. Location of property is amazing though. Close to all major tourist attractions.

This was my second stay at the Hotel Emperador which I returned to with confidence that the stay would be worthwhile. Conveniently located on Gran Vía with the Santo Domingo Metro station just across the street, it was well located for our daily strolls through the Centro Histórico and beyond. Breakfast was terrific, albeit without variation from day to day. The front desk staff and bellmen were extremely helpful, assisting us with booking a flamenco performance and storing our luggage, respectively.

We were very disappointed with the way we were treated by the staff. For a 4-star hotel, you expect a certain level of service, but here it felt like they didn’t care about their guests at all. We wanted to invite our friends to the rooftop for dinner and to spend money at the hotel. The hostess there, who spoke poor English, told us that before 8:00 PM the entrance fee for non-guests was €17. However, when our friends arrived, the reception informed us the fee was actually €70. It seems the hostess had made a mistake, confusing “seventeen” with “seventy.” At 6:30 PM on August 18th, the reception staff (including one receptionist named Daniel) refused to let our friends enter and insisted on charging €70 per person, which is far too much. I asked them to contact the hotel manager or simply allow us to confirm that we would not use the pool, but my request was denied. For a 4-star hotel, this kind of rude, inflexible service is unacceptable—especially when the error came from their own staff. If we had known from the start that the entrance fee was €70, we would never have invited our friends to the hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers. The staff do not know how to treat guests, and the overall experience felt very disappointing. The breakfast was very boring, tasteless, and cheap—not the standard you expect from a 4-star property. The only positive point was the cleaning, which was very good. Overall, I strongly suggest avoiding this hotel.

I would have liked this hotel if it wasn’t for the extremely rude Porter who started shouting at me for no reason claiming that I had been to pick up my luggage four times when it was completely not true. I went to complain to the reception to tell him off, and they did not do much I do not expect this treatment at a four-star hotel I don’t come to be insulted.

To be honest I have no complain about my stay, the hotel was on La Gran Via, close to everything, and the staff and room were phenomenal. Special thanks to Ivan, the security guard of the hotel(El boricua salsero), he was super helpful and awsome with us, very friendly and informative, bless his heart.

It is an excellent hotel. The staff are really nice, especially Juan, the porter! Very good breakfast. Everything is around you!

Great location. Room was clean and quiet. Friendly and accomodating staff. Good breakfast selection. Pool area looked beautiful but we didnt get to use it as it was freezing the first day and we went at 9 pm a few days later and it was closed.

Location of the property is perfect, it has a very nice interior and great rooftop bar. You have metro, bus stop just in front of the hotel. Royal palace is just 10 min walk. There is a 001 bus stop which takes you to most attractions at free of charge.

Overall, it’s a comfortable stay with great amenities, but the decor feels a little stuck in the past.

The location is great, walkable to all major attractions, safe. The room is quiet and spacious. We had a great stay there and will stay there next time in Madrid.

Property was right at the heart of Gran Via. Easy accessible to metros and pubic transport and very close, walkable distance to all major tourists attractions.

Employees at front desk were very friendly, room was nice and spacious. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choices and was delicious. It is located at the Main Street but very quiet inside. It was our second time staying and we will definitely come again!

Stayed six nights. Great location to Gran Via and subway station right out front. Taxis always available. Walked everywhere. Plenty of shops and restaurants all around. Clean hotel- we had two rooms, both great condition and clean. Housekeeping daily was excellent. Breakfast was great and plenty offered in options. Staff was always helpful and friendly. Loved the lobby bar area for snacks and drinks- people watching was relaxing. Felt bery safe at all times. Upstairs bar/dinner was marginal at best. Wouldn’t recommend much there. Will definitely stay herein future visits to Madrid.

Et rigtig godt hotel som ligger lige midt på Gran Via. Tæt på Plaza del Sol og Plaza Espania. Sengene var noget små og madrassen var godt brugt. Men alt i alt er det et rigtig fint hotel, men forvent at priserne i baren på rooftop er meget høje.
