A beautiful, intimate rural tourism hotel, set in a stunning location and with genuinely outstanding wine. Helena, who greeted us, organised everything via WhatsApp before we arrived, and saw us off at the end, was so friendly and welcoming. We also hugely enjoyed the wine tasting with João, a member of the family who own the property, who took the time to explain the wines, the douro valley, and who talked us through the experience with helpful information to enhance the experience. The chef, Marlene, produced an amazing dinner and, when we asked to try the 2010 grand reserva red wine with dinner, the wine maker himself came to open it for us and talk a little about it. Breakfast was great, parking was easy. It's a pity the weather meant we couldn't use the pool, but we'll just have to return.

Wunderschöne kleine Quinta mitten in den Weinbergen. Alles noch in neuem Zustand. Hervorragendes Personal, welches uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt hat. Besonders Miguel hat sich toll um uns gekümmert. Die Küche ist einfach traumhaft, köstliche Gerichte und schön serviert. Eine Wein und Port tasting Station mit den eigenen Produkten gibt es auch. Ein Picknick wurde uns im Garten liebevoll gerichtet. Alles läuft super schnell über Whatsapp. Lage ist etwas auserhalb von Regua, von hier kommt man schnell überall hin. Wir kommen wieder.

Quinta Noval-Casal Dos Capelinhos was an incredible stay. Everyone from Marlena, Monica, Miguel, to Pedro, made our experience special. Everything there, is about the team, continuous improvement, and giving the guests an experience of a lifetime…and they do. It is a gem of a rural establishment with a modern attitude and modern design. The staff takes a special interest in everyone and seeks to provide what one desires. We loved the fabulous breakfast (included) with granola, fruit, cheese, pastries, eggs and more… to the terrific, multi-course Michelin-like dinner… to a wine tasting not to be forgotten. Did I mention one may have “wine on demand” by a little machine in the lobby, by some of the rooms, any time of the day/night? All in all, a trip to be treasured, like a fine wine. This property is a gem. We wish we had booked for longer! Where to start? The size and location are idyllic, nestled amongst vineyards. The feel of the place is rustic yet modern at the same time — completely charming. We felt immediately relaxed, and enjoyed mornings by the pool and day trips out. The breakfasts were the best, and we loved the special dinner they offered. Miguel and the staff are exceptional!

We enjoyed every moment of the stay, from the amazing food, to the passionate and knowledgeable wine maker, to the refresher morning walk at the vineyard, to the quiet chill time at the pool and the fantastic view of the valley. We love it and will be back.

We loved it so much! The staff was incredible. We had a wine tour cancel last minute the night before and they organized an entire half day trip for us on a boat and a wine tasting! They also had a great breakfast and lunch to order by the pool. And as a bonus had two cute dogs on the property. It was also such an incredible price point for what it was. I booked the family suite and we had an entire patio to ourselves.

This property is absolutely gorgeous, looks like a museum. The staff is extremely kind, they came to the parking lot with umbrellas because it was raining. The food is delicious.

Many nice things overshadowed by inconvenience and poor management. Good…breakfast and the staff that managed it was excellent. Fresh, delicious, good variety and good service. Location and overall beauty of the hotel property was great. However, our room #5, was dark and musty smelling. The bathroom door was a huge pivoting door that was broken and didn’t close. It was fixed a day later but it should have been fixed before our arrival, there is no way they didn’t know about it. The WiFi was down after our first night. The equipment for the WiFi was in our room so we had a repair man in our room. The first day after touring for 8 hours away from the room we came back to the repair man in our room. The second day after being gone for 5 hours same thing. Wi-Fi was still not working on top of us having no privacy and complete use of our room. No compensation was made by the hotel management!! No formal apology. No discount, bottle of wine, no gestures of apologies. Room 5 was a suite. The sitting area was sparsely furnished and not comfortable for relaxing, with one small wooden settee. Also no luggage racks for suitcases, not enough lighting, only other seating was an outdoor furniture bar with 6 stools, which we used to prop up our suitcases which didn’t was ideal. Small little table was in an outdoor cove outside of bed area that was surrounded by a 12ft high cement wall, no views. Photos on website do not represent the space accurately.

Everything was just great.! The staff are very nice, Thomas and Miguel. The breakfast set-up everyday was nice, the pastry and bread and fruits were always fresh.The room was clean, and we had a lovely view of the vineyard. Our dinner was excellent as well. The property was just beautiful. I will surely stay here again if i even come back to Duoro.

The room was perfect, extremely well cleaned every day, and the views were amazing too. We stayed for 4 nights and ate there for 3 of them as the food was so good. Marlena is a wonderful cook. We absolutely loved our stay, couldn't recommend more highly and can't wait to come back.

Bien que la propriete soit jolie et le service excellent, nous avons eu une chambre qui sentait fortement l'humidité a cause de fortes pluies 2 jours avant notre arrivée. L'etablissement n'ayant pas de solution pour nous, nous avons préféré écourter notre séjour. A noter que nous avons été remboursé de la nuit non passée à l'hotel sans souci.

This is a great property. You feel like a welcome guest in someone's private house. The room are not big but the bed was confortable and the bathroom has everything you need. Breakfast is included and this is a high point of the property. Beautiful and very tasty breakfast with a very large selection of products, some grown on the property. The staff is exceptionally helpful and attentive. Highly recommend this property.

Loved everything about our stay at Casal Dos Capelinhos. Miguel, Maria and Pedro were all exceptionally accommodating and helpful. Food was great, both the breakfast and the dinner! Rooms and property were beautiful and great location, 5 min drive to Regau. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing place to stay a Douro Valley. Beautiful, clean, comfortable. Excellent breakfast and dinner. The wine testing above our expectations. Attention, and service from the staff Miguel, Pedro, Marlene and Socorro, magnificent. The room very comfortable, the bed, the linen, top quality. The bathroom excellent. This place is special - a real experience. Boutique hotel in a gorgeous setting with personalized service. Picture by the infinity pool…that view!! And biggest shout out to Monica who made our trip. Every recommendation (wineries, restaurants, etc) she gave was fantastic. When you have limited time in places, where you go matters and she gave us memories for a lifetime. Douro Valley generally is one of the most stunning places we’ve ever been and this hotel is conveniently located while providing total peace and serenity. Only recommendation I’d made is to do more with the beautiful patio spaces. Ours was huge with gorgeous vineyard views. Put comfortable chairs and tables out there and make it more of an outdoor living space. 5 star stay and thank you to everyone!!

This is a beautiful Quinta of 7 rooms. Their service is fabulous, as is the food. Tomas & Miguel were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and all around very nice young men doing their job well. Kitchen staff prepared beautiful, delicious food. Rooms are modern and comfortable with plenty of amenities. Regua train station is a quick 6-7 minutes, taxis out front. They recommended a Michelin star restaurant right next to the station for lunch which was beautiful & the food was excellent. We will definitely be back!

This is a great property. You feel like a welcome guest in someone's private house. The room are not big but the bed was confortable and the bathroom has everything you need. Our stay was absolutely perfect! We wish we had planned to stay longer. We didn’t want to leave. From a warm welcome including tour of the grounds and a delicious welcome drink from Sara to an informative and fun wine tasting by Miguel, followed by a dinner on the patio, everything exceeded our expectations. The room was modern and spacious and the bathroom was huge. The shower was wonderful. We enjoyed our welcome drink on our patio, overlooking lime, olive, and apple trees as well as grape vines. The views were breathtaking. There are so many cute and cozy areas on the property to sit and read, talk or sip. We had a wine tap outside our room where we used a card to sample some wine. The morning breakfast buffet was great with fresh pastries, made to order eggs, fresh fruit, yogurts and more. Sara and Miguel offered many suggestions and recommendations for other places to visit in the Douro. If you are looking to come visit the Douro River Valley, you must book several nights at Casal Dos Capelinhos and prepare to be pampered. It was the best part of our Portugal stay.

Incredible stay Have never experienced customer service like it, everyone went out of their way to help, the team were exceptional. The room was perfect, extremely well cleaned every day, and the views were amazing too. We stayed for 4 nights and ate there for 3 of them as the food was so good. Marlena is a wonderful cook. We absolutely loved our stay, couldn't recommend more highly and can't wait to come back.

Quel moment inoubliable!!! D'abord Miguel nous attendait à l'entrée de la propriété, il nous a accompagné à notre emplacement, nous a fait faire une petite visite en nous expliquant l'histoire du vignoble, il nous a aussi recommandé un 'road trip'' que nous avons fait en après-midi. Nous avions décidé de prendre le repas du soir au vignoble,( l'un des propriétaire est venu nous saluer) cela a été une expérience extraordinaire au niveau gastronomique, ambiance, musique, feux de foyer, etc... Le brunch du matin est sublime. Et que dire de la superbe vue de notre chambre..... Nous recommandons sans réserve si vous souhaitez une expérience unique

We loved it so much! The staff was incredible. We had a wine tour cancel last minute the night before and they organized an entire half day trip for us on a boat and a wine tasting! They also had a great breakfast and lunch to order by the pool. And as a bonus had two cute dogs on the property. It was also such an incredible price point for what it was. I booked the family suite and we had an entire patio to ourselves.

A beautiful, intimate rural tourism hotel, set in a stunning location and with genuinely outstanding wine. Helena, who greeted us, organised everything via WhatsApp before we arrived, and saw us off at the end, was so friendly and welcoming. We also hugely enjoyed the wine tasting with João, a member of the family who own the property, who took the time to explain the wines, the douro valley, and who talked us through the experience with helpful information to enhance the experience. The chef, Marlene, produced an amazing dinner and, when we asked to try the 2010 grand reserva red wine with dinner, the wine maker himself came to open it for us and talk a little about it. Breakfast was great, parking was easy. It's a pity the weather meant we couldn't use the pool, but we'll just have to return.

Wunderschöne kleine Quinta mitten in den Weinbergen. Alles noch in neuem Zustand. Hervorragendes Personal, welches uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt hat. Besonders Miguel hat sich toll um uns gekümmert. Die Küche ist einfach traumhaft, köstliche Gerichte und schön serviert. Eine Wein und Port tasting Station mit den eigenen Produkten gibt es auch. Ein Picknick wurde uns im Garten liebevoll gerichtet. Alles läuft super schnell über Whatsapp. Lage ist etwas auserhalb von Regua, von hier kommt man schnell überall hin. Wir kommen wieder.

This visit was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such kindness from our host Miguel. Located in the Douro valley surrounded by beautiful terrace vineyards, this property is truly unique. There is great attention to detail throughout the experience. From the kid’s mini soccer field, to the wine tasting, and the incredible dinner and breakfast, one night wasn’t enough to soak it all in. We hope to return to this magical place!

We had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff, Antonio, Marlena, Julia and others were warm, welcoming and attentive and genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay special. The food was beautifully prepared, fresh and full of flavour. We would encourage you to take advanage of the supper on site. So delicious and well worth the value. This was the best part of our trip to Portugal. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and the property is gorgeous. By far the standout was the food though. I can't recommend the dinner and the picnic lunch enough. Thank you, Antonio and Andrea for taking such good care of us and making our stay so memorable.
