It was basic but pleasant at the same time. I would strongly recommend booking one of their three parking spots outside the hotel if you’re taking the car. It’s £20 out front but £40 a day in the multi story car parks that are a fair Walk away with heavy cases! The hotel was in a good location for when you’ve had enough and need to sleep without loads of noise! Only saw a receptionist once during my stay so can’t say anything about the staff. It’s average, get a good price. Enjoy yourself!

I paid around £230 for two nights in this property. I haven't been to Brighton in a decade and I imagine this is good for the location it's in. I'm going to keep this short and sweet... My room was small. By small, I mean I'm 5'3 and not a big guy. It was a bed with a small walkway to the window, with a table by where a headboard would be (which is a wall). Its fine for me and the two nights, but for people who need more space, it's small. Second is that it's on the third floor and there's no lift. The shower tap was really stiff and I struggled to turn it (I have a grip problem). The en suite has little space to turn around. However, it was fine for me and it was clean. The shower pressure was good. I can't attach photos with this app sadly. The room was clean and the bed was firm (which I prefer) the window was single glazed and rattled, though it was very windy out. I could see Brighton pier out my window (which needed a clean from the outside). I wasn't woken up by any noise and I slept well both nights. I had no issues with staff or anything like that.

On arrival there was confusion over our names (two people with the same name) which lead to a mix up in rooms and a car parking space. This was frustrating given that I had just paid to park, then ended up being refunded and spent ages finding somewhere else to park, however we understood how that could have happen. We moved to our allocted room, as per our booking and my partner noticed the window did not have a lock. We did not feel safe staying in a room without a window lock, especially as the property currently has scaffolding up. We were moved to a other room (this now being the third room), the situation with the window being the same. We explained that whilst we appreciated it was difficult to open it from the outside, it was absolutely doable. Not only were our belongings unsafe whilst we were out, but we felt unsafe at night. Why bother having a door lock if you don't do the same on the windows? We returned to our original room. So after all these issues and 4 room changes, this delayed us on getting ready and meant what was supposed to be a really fun exciting night, became so unnecessary and avoidably stressful. The bed was okay, but squeaks every time you remotely moves and the decoration in the hotel is okay if you aren't looking hard enough. I guess you pay for what you get. The hotel is obviously getting a face lift externally, but it still has alot to be desired.

Booked for my Daughter for 3 nights a non refundable room , she managed 1 night and checked out and found a friend to stay with for the remaining 2 nights , the bed sheets were stained the room smelt damp and had mould in it , unfortunately as an asthma sufferer this exacerbated her symptoms and she made the decision to leave . I did message the property on the day my daughter left and still have had no response ! Don’t stay here

I booked a 1-night stay at this hotel almost 6 months ago for this weekend. The location is brilliant and I didn't have issues with the noise outside as I'm a heavy sleeper. However, the carpet in my room was filthy when I checked in, full of pieces of paper and hair pins. I didn't try to change rooms because I was planning to spend most of the time outside anyway but I felt the cleaning standards were definitely not worth the £110 rate for one night. Disappointing.

The bed was clean although the undersized sheet did little to hide the stain on the mattress. The bed was homemade with 4x2,s and MDF so pretty uncomfortable and every time you moved in creaked like a pirate ship. The sea view was obscured by the dirty windows and there was dust on most surfaces , including the light shade hanging directly over the bed, although not on my bedside table as there was not one. There was tea & coffee but the metal kettle did transfer the heat to the outside. All the pictures managed to be wonky including the one with a side of the frame missing. The room had be recently decorated which we knew by the paint splashes on most things and the masking tape around the wall light. The lack of ventilation, apart from the window with a broken sash cord, meant the tiny bathroom smelt damp. The shower was small enough that you had to get out if you dropped something because you could not bend down in there. The tap was two inches from the small sink bottom so getting your hands under was difficult and the kettle had to be filled with a cup. We did manage to check in early for an additional £15 although they only needed a few minutes to ‘get it ready’. Do not recommend.

Our room was very dusty, the sink and toilet had limescale build up. The room doesn't have double glazing, so the room was very chilly in March. Our room had a small kettle and only 3 sashes of coffee for the 3 night me and my daughter stayed. We had to buy our own. The view was nice

Great Location - That's it! Upon arriving, we were greeted in a weed/smoke filled entrance hall. Understand we didn't pay much for this property but there should still be some level of professionalism when greeting guests. I half thought I'd walked into some student digs. Once we were in the room it didn't get any better. The place hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. There were stains on the bedding, dead flies and a layer of dust on the window sill. The Bathroom mirror was dirty with water marks and god knows what else, many stray hairs in the shower and bedding. Safe to say we were glad we weren't spending much time in the room. When it did come to sleeping we were awoken many a time by other guests coming and going. I can understand for the price why some people might treat this place as a come and go but the noise was very disturbing. Apart from the location this place is nothing like it looks like on the website. Wish we'd looked more thoroughly into the reviews as this place shouldn't even be classed as a hostel let alone a hotel. Will not be staying again and recommend you do not book here either!

Rooms do not match the pictures, our room was tiny and dirty, we didn’t even stay, booked another hotel and left, no one on reception so had to drop the keys off and go, have emailed numerous times to try and get a refund and no one bothers to respond. avoid at all costs

No ventilation, poor quality seal on window. Mouldy sewage smell, no privacy filter or blind on roof light which can see into other rooms.

I booked a double room they tried to give me a single covered in flies when there was clearly two of us. Room was then changed to what I originally booked but then room was again filled with flies everywhere. Found a secret camera in one of the ceiling lights. The bathroom had to air vents. The window was full of mould. The rooms surrounding us were very loud during the night due to the thin walls. As the hotel is on a slope, our room was slanted with the head of the bed descending. Just a terrible dirty experience. Never again!!!!

This isn’t really a hotel it’s a converted house! This isn’t really an issue and I was sort of aware of that when I booked it. The overall experience was meh. The room was really small! Certain areas haven’t been cleaned in a very long time.. we found cigarette butts in the room, crumbs and other waste in chairs and on the floor and the shower had quite a bit of mould growing in it. The property provided less than the minimum when it comes to amenities not even having shampoo or body wash. Overall you get what you pay for and it’s in a really good location to get around Brighton but be aware it’s not up to the standard you’d expect with most chains.

The whimsical name of the hotel along with the stylised pictures on the website are deceptive, making it look much better than reality; certainly not worth the £179 we paid for our one night stay. It’s not an easy place to find, with just a running ‘ticker tape’, over the door, so not immediately obvious from the street. On arrival the front door was shut and a typed notice gave instructions to phone a selection of mobile numbers, to gain access, the first two of which didn’t work but the third did. Check in was quick, but that was about the only positive. The first room we were shown to had, what appeared to be, a small double bed shoved against a wall and very little floor space so we asked to see another one and was taken to a room on the top floor facing the front. A larger room but it, like the whole place, felt tired and worn despite what appeared to be an attempt to brighten things up with a lick of paint. The sash windows were single glazed and an almighty wind gusted through them all night. Saying that, the bed was fairly comfortable and the bathroom was tiled in white giving it a modern feel but we didn’t use the shower as, sadly, was put off by the mould on the ceiling. In summary, way over priced and definitely not a place I would ever stay in again.

Chap on front desk didn’t advise the front door would be locked once all guests had checked in - there was a key for the door but would have been nice to have been advised. Glad we only stayed for the one night.

We stayed for one night during the beach festival. The location is unbeatable, right by the beach, but the property itself is very outdated and doesn’t feel like a proper hotel. Check-in was quick and efficient, but the room was tiny and had a terrible smell, likely from an overpowering plug-in scent, which I had to unplug. Keeping the window open helped clear it out a bit. There were no bathroom amenities provided, which added to the overall disappointment. It’s a shame because the location is great and the place has real potential, but it seriously needs an update. Please do not use any scent in the room.

Bed was rock solid on a flimsy frame. Walls are not sound proof and anyone moving even a floor below would resonate in our room. Bloke snoring downstairs was soothing tho. Couple having sex in our ears was not so. Staff was incredibly friendly and never felt unsafe.

Only issue I had was hearing other people in same accommodation late at night

Windows we’re old and single pained which not only let in a great deal of cold but also noise. The bed was a uncomfortable mattress on a self built wooden frame and no bedside tables, lamps or shelves to rest phone on. The TV didn’t work at all. Bedding was poor and thin duvet made for a cold nights sleep. No extra blankets. Pictures missing from the walls and paintwork in poor condition. The bathroom was small with a sink that was so small you couldn’t wash your hands and face properly. The water pressure was low and even with the teams on high it was Luke warm. This hotel needs attention. Nobody around after check in to discuss this with.

The trip was great and the accomodation was brilliant, the management allowed me to check in early for a small fee which was fantastic. the room was well presented and it was very quiet considering the hotels location and the room i was given was next to their reception area.

Avoid avoid and avoid this place, turn up couple minutes before checking in, and the door was locked, pressed the bell many times and no response, even phoned the three numbers they have pinned in a clear plastic wallet which was trenched and ripped and still no response, stayed around for 30mins and no one came, blue wall outside the front door was falling and very unsafe. Contacted Hotels.com answered their scripted question and they tried to contact them and they didn't have a response. Had an email today (6.3.24) from hotels.com saying I can't have refund as the property (who answered this morning 6.3.24) said they wouldn't give a refund as it was a nonrefundable room (again I will say no one was at the property nor answered the bell or the phone, and also didn't answer when hotels com phoned on the day I was supposed to stay... Please tell me how that is fair.... Please avoid this place and read all the review

The shower wasn’t working it was burning hot or freezing cold it wouldn’t adjust i went down to ask someone at the front but it was close sunday i really wanted a shower before check out felt awful all day without shower :(

The first room I saw was not good (nowhere to put clothes, dodgy lamp). The second one was better but no way was this worth the price paid. The saving grace was the one member of staff, who was very helpful.

This street is very unsafe as my experience and me and my family felt very unsafe even left a day earlier. The reception was not always around and there were no cleaning during our stay even it mentioned in the ads

A very good location for staying in Brighton for a short visit. Has got everything that you need for a night or two. Longer stay with more time spent in the room than the sleeping and getting ready time would be an individual decision of whiat requirements are of importance or not for your own convenience.
