Riu Sri Lanka All Inclusive

RIU was excellent in service and being an all inclusive, we didn't need to leave the property! Many choices on the menu to keep you there both for food and drinks. Lots of entertainment and activities throughout the day so never a dull moment. Would definitely recommend going with a group to make full use of the unlimited cocktails and beers. Has a kids club and kids pool too which keeps them occupied.

I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights. Positive: * Staff was very professional and very attentive. * Place was big with lots of activities * Food was good. Buffets have a lot of choice. * service was excellent * clean rooms Negative: * resort was way overcrowded. *Adult pool was overcrowded and dirty. * Pool had 80% men staring at us the whole time * People swimming in pool with regular cloths on. * drinks and cocktails selection are limited with them being watered down. * no bathroom or bed room amenities. * beach access no life guard and when you step on to the beach you get harrased by locals. Overall it will be a great place if they only allow people who stay overnight and not allow anyone on day pass. Cost of everything is a bit too high for resorts in Sri lanka.

Absolutely relaxing from the moment of arrival until departure. We arrived an hour before checking and we’re graciously quickly checked in. Rooms are modern, clean and efficient. The food is very good quality and there is regular variety. The pools are pristine, and the pool bar is great. The beach itself is touch and go, so many stick to the pools. Really nothing bad to say about this hotel and their staff - it is an absolutely marvelous experience.

Hotellet er kæmpe stort og rigtig fint. Sødt personale. Dog var en af de tre pool helt grøn og måtte lukkes ned mens vi var der. Dertil fik 3 ud af 4 familiemedlemmer madforgiftning på hotellet. Heldigvis er der en sød læge tilknyttet, men vi var sat ud af spil i 3 dage.

Dieses Hotel ist eine massentouristische Katastrophe und eine Beleidigung für die atemberaubende Gastfreundschaft und Kultur Sri Lankas. Wenn Sie ein authentisches Erlebnis suchen oder einfach nur einen erholsamen Urlaub verbringen möchten, meiden Sie das RIU Sri Lanka unbedingt. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine billige, austauschbare Formel, die ohne jegliche Rücksicht auf lokale Kultur oder Standards an einen schönen Strand geklatscht wurde. Das RIU Sri Lanka hat fast nichts mit Sri Lanka zu tun. Es ist eine gigantische Betonburg. Die Architektur ist steril, die Atmosphäre laut und das kulinarische Angebot ist eine generische internationale Ansammlung, die den Reichtum der sri-lankischen Küche in vielerlei Hinsicht ignoriert. Es ist bedauerlich, einen solch wunderschönen Ort mit einer Einrichtung zu verschandeln, die keinerlei lokale Seele besitzt. Für ein Hotel, das sich stolz mit fünf Sternen schmückt, ist das zur Verfügung gestellte Fitnessstudio eine Farce. Die Ausstattung ist unterirdisch und inakzeptabel: Die Geräte sind veraltet, die Auswahl ist minimal und die Wartung scheint ein Fremdwort zu sein. Es ist eng, oft überfüllt und bietet kaum die Möglichkeit für ein ernsthaftes oder abwechslungsreiches Training. Dieses „Gym“ ist lediglich ein Beispiel dafür, dass das Hotel nur oberflächlich einen Luxusanspruch erhebt, aber bei den Service-Details massiv spart. Was diesen Aufenthalt aber wirklich unerträglich macht, ist das völlig unzivilisierte Verhalten vieler Gäste

An absolutely wonderful hotel. Superb service from ALL staff. Wonderful pools and gym. Food was superb with a huge amount of choice.

We had an amazing experience at Riu Sri Lanka. More Kids friendly activities would have been great. Otherwise, it is a lovely place to stay to relax, eat and be entertained by a variety of events every night.

We liked the stuff and services. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. Rooms were perfectly clean. Food was tasty and the drinks were good. In front of the hotel you can find some Tuk Tuks to visit ambient locations. For rainy days you can also use the indoor jacuzzis and steam bath.

Le sejour etait tres bien mais le rapport qualite pprix reste eleve par rapport à la moyenne des hotels où nous avons séjourné au Sri-Lanka de meme catégorie L'hotel est moderne mais la decoration tres simple et impersonnelle, meme triste dans les chambres avec une climatisation tres forte dans les salles de redtauration et dans les chambres impossible de la laisser allumer . Le personnel est parfait Propreté impecable Dans les chambres ,pas de bureau ,ni feuille ni crayons. Articles de toilettes une fois par semaine Pas de brosse à dents Restaurant bon mais repetitif Localisation Plage belle, dommage qu'un grillage empeche de prendre en photos Les animations tres sympathiques Un personnel tres efficace et gentil Le week-end grande fréquentation de la piscine ,impossible de se baigner Pour visiter les environs pas de navette pour la ville ou les sites à cote Pas pratique pour faire des courses ou tu tourisme Trop loins des sites touristiques,des environs sans navette Pas de service de navette aereport ,nous avons faillit rater notre avion parceque le taxi que nous avions reseve à 5h du matin a ete pris par un autre couple Par erreur, pas de virification de leur identité par le service de securite pour la prise en charge heureusement que le leur est arrivé avec 10' de retard et a accepte de nous conduire à l'aereport ,un stress

Overall the hotel was brilliant. Friendly staff, food, rooms, pools. I think I am being really picky by saying there was a small amount of mould between the tiles in the bathrooms. I will be returning to this hotel though!!!!

Cleanliness, food, pools and most important the staff. Always attentive, eager to help, smiling and look like they enjoy themselves while Mali g you very welcome. The dining room and specially crew were great. The pool crew did an excellent job. Room was clean by wonderful attentive personnel.

Housekeeping was excellent and spotless. The food was really tasty and we never had a bad meal here, the spread was very good. Service in general was very spot on especially Chaminda, who took really good care of us. The kids club ran by Shashini was very well received by our daughter and overall we had a really good time hear. We would love to visit again!

Clean rooms and available facilities. Changing facilities at end of stay were fantastic. Food was lovely and the availability and choice was really good. Sauté was our favourite of the speciality restaurants.

Es war alles perfekt. Das Personal überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Das Essen war immer frisch gekocht und abwechslungsreich. Die Buffets immer frisch angerichtet. Für uns hat es perfekt gepasst.

Fantastic beach. This hotel is the worst riu I’ve been at. We didn’t sleep at all due to the barking dogs in the street. The restaurants called a la carte at actually buffets as well and were limited in their operation. The staff was courteous and kind. The cleaning was done well. The location too close to a main road is a serious problem here through

Really nice stay, i recommend this hotel. Very clean, the staff is awsome. Food can be dry sometime, but overall the food is very great. There is a nice bar in the pool.Alchol choice is somewhat limited. The beach is perfect, its clean and sandy. There is some locals, on the beach who will push the usual stuff they all sell but, if you say "no thanks" they won't annoy you more than that.

Before arrive. Asked for a room on a high floor because of noise. Got the room on top of the nightclub!!! Had 2 horrible nights before we asked for another room bcuz of no sleep. Asked 2 times, middle of night and in mornibg of safari. Told we were leaving for the day. Come back and went to the reception. The maneger were very rude. Told us it was too late to change room. Said we should skipped the safari. I was very sad and had no sleep for 2 night. After a LOT of discussion they gave us another room but downgraded us too a room without seaview. We accepted bcuz there was nothing else and we had to sleep!! They did not even say they were sorry or gave us anything for the room.. they could have us an massage or whatever bcuz of all the problem but they were just rude. Not a service from a 5 star hotell.

Habitués des hôtels Riu nous avons réservé notre séjour par Hôtel.com avec un règlement sur place. À l’arrivée, l’hôtel ayant volontairement programmé le règlement sans contact sur ses TPE pour ne pas avoir à payer de frais bancaires, nous avons été contraints de nous rendre au distributeur automatique deux jours de suite, compte tenu du montant à retirer, pour régler en espèces. Cette pratique est malhonnête et pas au niveau de l’accueil que l’on peut attendre d’une telle chaîne d’hôtels.

Lovely and clean but absolutely soulless. Stupid staff dressed up in childish costumes jumping on guests sunbathing on sun beds. Cheap limited choice of cocktails. We would never go back.

The whole family got sick from the food

The property was clean and the service was excellent. Special mention to the head chef and staff at dining. The food was excellent at or above international standards. I loved the food and drinks here along with excellent customer service. Looking forward to coming back here and enjoying the wonderful hospitality of this place!!
