This Hotel was right in the heart of Milan perfect for walking and seeing all the sites . Close to restaurants and bars. Hotel itself is small but good for a short stay. Having only one small elevator cause some difficulties.Breakfast was good but eating area very small and food selection minimal . Coffee was good

The location and friendliness of the staff are the BEST in all of Milan! Room is not big, but comfortable, air conditioning in each room, hot nice shower, elevator is kind of slow, but only needed when with suitcases. Breakfast is amazing, much more than only coffee and croissants.

Overall, I’d recommend this budget hotel based on incredible location and affordability. THE GOOD — Just steps away from the entrance of the Duomo metro station. About a minute more to get to the turnstiles. Incredible to see the cathedral just around the corner after you step out of the hotel — front-line staff was very helpful, especially Jimmy on the overnight shift who went out of his way to assist — the first night of the five-night stay in the hotel was unbearably hot with Milan in the grips of a heatwave (checked in too late and too exhausted to complain) but the air conditioning kicked in on the second day and was strong enough despite temps climbing to 35C — breakfast was plentiful with sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs as hot items. They’ll either make you a coffee or cappuccino. — clean, wasn’t noisy THE BAD — elevator was only big enough for two people, and only one person if there’s luggage. Also it was incredibly slow and quicker just to walk up the steps — single room was cramped but to be expected given if its affordability — no fridge or kettle in the room (reception was kind enough to offer me water but it was never clear to me whether it was just because they were charmed by my smile or if every guest can get a bottle of water if asked — you have to sit sideways on the toilet otherwise your knees will hit the sink THE UGLY — Showers are so small you have to step out of the stall to lather up otherwise you bang your elbows

Cannot beat the location….room and bathroom small but if you don’t mind that it was clean, had a safe in room, great breakfast and the receptionists were very helpful and friendly,,,I highly recommend

Room on the first floor. Very comfortable.. Great location, . Duomo, Galleria 2 minutes walk. La Scala 5-6 minutes. Quadrilatero della moda 15 minutes. Location is tops. Lots of shopping on Via Mazzini and Corso V. Emanuele. A great breakfast served daily. Only complaint elevator very slow . Will definitely recommend and will stay there again.

Chambre minuscule, mais propre et contient tout ce qu’il faut. La douche peut paraître un peu serrée aussi, mais pour moi ce n’est pa un enjeux. Petit déjeuner complet très apprécié. Consigne de bagage très pratique si vous arrivez tôt ou voulez profiter de votre journée après le Check-out le jour de votre départ.

Perfect location for sight seeing being just around the corner from Duomo square Small room, large bathroom, but everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was included free which was a bonus. Stored our bags after checkout so we could collect later. Overall happy with our no frills stay, good price and excellent location.

This hotel is in an older building is very unassuming, but was a pleasant surprise. The staff is friendly and super helpful. They have luggage storage a really great breakfast very tiny elevator and staircase, a super clean room with the most comfortable beds and high ceilings. The bathroom is very large and there’s a balcony that looks out onto the street. Note that it is a busy street and the trollies do run at night, but surprisingly with the windows closed we slept absolutely fantastic and although I’ve read reviews that the noise had bothered other people we didn’t hear a thing, and completely enjoyed our stay.

Hotel was in a great spot, overall wasn’t bad, however when I got to go get into my bed there was something stuck on to my bed sheets, it was too late andto go down and talk to the front desk person and I was extremely tired so I stretched it of with a key. Bathroom needs lots of work as the vent and light makes lot of noise. The bed and pillows were good and firm. The elevator in the building was very small and felt unsafe as it would bounce around a lot while your inside and was extremely slow.

Room very dirty, air dryer was nasty, I had to clean it before use it. You could easily see dusty in every corner of the room. Location is amazing, though, but I wouldn’t stay in that hotel again.

Había chinches, la habitacion estaba sucia y el personal de recepción no es amables; es intolerante, grosero y no habla ni español ni inglés. La habitacion es más pequeña de lo que se describe. Fue de verdad mi peor experiencia en los hoteles que visité durante mi viaje a Italia. No lo recomiendo para nada.

I like the staff. The location is amazing. However, when we checked in the room there was a shopping plastic bag hanging in the coat rack, no toiletries were present at the bathroom. We had to ask the cleaning lady for them. The floor was not swept there were plenty of dust under the bed and the beds may seem to be made but One bed had 3 pillows while the other had 2 that it looked like someone just got out of it. Unfortunately the Sheets made me itch. Mind you I did not complain to the front desk because I accepeted our fate but this is my most honest opinion. Other than the cleanliness of the place I have no concerns. It was an OK stay.

When checking in, I got no explanation about anything. For my entire 4 day stay, the A/C did not work when the temperatures were in the mid 80s. They were able to do nothing about it. I was not able to change rooms or even get a fan to help. They did give me a discount, but only after I asked for it. The location was very convenient. All but one of the staff were friendly.

The staff was VERY friendly and helpful and the room was as clean as it could be. That said, this hotel is very very old including the furnishings in the room (probably 25ish years of hotel use and abuse). The location is very central and as a result very loud. The older windows don't do a great job blocking the sound making sleep difficult.

Excellent location and lovely staff. I also enjoyed the breakfast (several protein options) and made to order coffee drinks. My room didn’t smell very good and dust had accumulated in various places. The AC worked (though it could have been colder) and kept the room bearable. If location and price are your priorities then this is the hotel for you!

The location is fantastic-steps from the Duomo and metro. The breakfast was good but the seating area is quite cramped. Hotel staff are very nice but the rooms were uncomfortably small and the closest doors touched the bed so impossible to move. The water temperature changed constantly in the shower and the shower head kept dropping. I tripped over the step up into the bathroom when first arriving. Overall, we did not enjoy our stay.

The location of the hotel is brilliant. Right in the centre just a few hundred meters from Duomo plaza. Unfortunately our first floor room was right next to a tram stop with trams every 30 seconds. The noise was terrible. Could not get to sleep in the evening and first trams at 5am woke us up. Had almost no sleep. The breakfast was ok croissant, coffee and juice. If the room had been at the rear or on a top floor maybe the experience would have been better and worth 4 or 5 stars. But the room was so noisy we just could not sleep. Final moan there was no facilities for making a morning cup of coffee in our room. No facilities at all. The bed was very comfortable and the shower powerful but the room was basic.

I stayed in Milan at Hotel Rio for 2 nights. I am a young, female, solo traveller and I chose this hotel for its central location and convenient walking distance to all local sites, which makes me feel safer especially walking back in the evenings/dark. The location also made it easier to go back to the hotel during the day to drop things off. I booked a single bed room and got upgraded to a double bed room on arrival at no extra cost, which was a perk. I liked how breakfast was included and the rooms were clean and had everything you would need like a safe, fridge, toiletries etc. If I re-visit Milan, I will definitely stay here again and would recommend!

When we checked in to the hotel, the reception was very rude and no information was given. Later that day there was a different staff member and he was friendly and told us, among other things, what time breakfast was. The breakfast was quite good.

We has a great stay at Hotel Rio. It is located in a great part of Milan, just steps from the Duomo and very close to La Scala.The are plenty of restaurants nearby and lots of upscale shopping. The breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable with a large bathroom. The staff was helpful and friendly.

The front desk associate Jimmy was ultra helpful especially when we would tell him we have an early excursion and we are unable to make it to breakfast❤️ Jimmy made sure there was something for us to drink and gran to eat. Fantastic hotel service and perfect location to all! Highly recommended 🇮🇹👍

Although a little dated the room and bathroom were big, the bed and pillows very comfortable for me. Heating good; shower always had hot water and a good pressure. Staff on reception excellent and went above and beyond to help me when I was injured in Duomo square!

Website claimed you needed to check in by 2300 so I ran across the city to make this timing. On arrival he said to me that there is no limit to check in and it was an inaccuracy with the website...so maybe change that? I arrived at the hotel in good spirits regardless and they told me they did not have a room for me even though it was booked through this site. They put me up in a sister hotel across the city down by the canal which was not ideal. The hotel was straight out of the 1980s. If booking just prepare for a bed and toilet, everything else is very dated.

Fantastic location. 3 minutes walk to Duomo plaza. Subway and bus stations are around. Shopping Centers are around. Stuff are extremely nice and responsive. Very safe with living in city center. I was very happy with staying here.

Brilliant location and good hearty breakfast. 5/5 for that. That said the hotel can do with a makeover - it is quite dated with poor lighting in the room, a broken shower head and no toiletries were supplied. The gentleman manning the reception two days consecutively helped me with hailing a cab, making logistics one less thing for me to worry about. My overall rating would be a 4/5.

Great location. Great price. Transportation so easy to get around. Fantastic restaurants, cafes, gelato and bakeries close by… and the breakfast at the hotel was really good. It had everything to start the day, including espresso, cappuccino, croissants, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, juice, granola, cereal, bread, cheese, tomatoes. Our room was a little bit noisy because the tram stop was on the street. So if you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room that is quiet. My husband slept like a rock, but I had trouble sleeping. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

The best thing about Hotel Rio is it’s location. You walk out the front entrance, turn left, go about 60-70 meters and your at the Duomo square and the entrance to the metro station.

I loved the location! The property is run down !!! My “room” was a closet. My “bed” was more like cot and not even twin size. The toilet is located within inches of the sink. If you are average sign person - you may not be able to sit on the toilet. The free breakfast … skip it ! Wi-Fi worked in the lobby only. “ supposedly , they are upgrading the WiFi. The staff was helpful. I wouldn’t recommend this “hotel”. It’s more like a run down rooming house.
