Found an empty baby feeding container in the room on arrival (breast milk alternative product, plastic). Front desk staff only apologized. Renovations were going on but there was no sound annoyance. Exercise room was closed but people were using the pool.

We had a king room that had a sitting area and a wetbar style counter. The room was large and allowed lots of room to spread out and enjoy the space. It was clean and comfortable. The decorations were mildly dated but it was a nice space. The pool was large, clean and had great hours.

For the price it was a great place for my family and I to stay. Nice to have a pool and continental breakfast. Many other hotels didn’t offer this. Gym was out of order which was a bummer. Staff was amazing.

Overall ok for 1night stay. Not recommended for breakfast as very less options. Swimming pool was ok and was missing post-swim/rinse-off shower which is normally available. No hot tub available and would have been nice during winter if it was there.

Great room, clean and spacious.Quiet and comfy beds/pillows. Only issue was pool was really cold. Never have gone to a hotel where my family just found the pool too cold to stay in .

The room itself was okay, quite clean except for a couple chocolate bar wrappers beside the dresser and a few areas of the rug that you can tell haven’t been vacuumed in years. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was HORRENDOUS. Zero pressure. We had to stick our heads under the tap to rinse shampoo and conditioner off. The free “hot” breakfast was actually laughable. There was no-name brand cereal, some yogurt, some frozen waffles, rock-hard bagels, and bread for toasting. That’s it. The juice dispenser had four buttons (two for orange juice, two for apple) and when you pressed one of the buttons, water would pour out of all the spouts at once until you could figure out how to shut it off, so the counter and floor was a mess! There were no spoons or knives or plates left when the rush started coming, and no staff to be found, so people were buttering their toast with a stir stick, and eating their yogurt with a fork. The one garbage bin was overflowed onto the floor, and the area where you put your dirty dishes was full, so people had to leave their dishes on the floor or on tables.

We had a fantastic stay there and even booked an extra night. The staff were amazing and super friendly. The room was perfectly clean and updated and the breakfast area and food were very good. Would definitely stay there again!

Great stay again but the parking lot and sidewalks around the building were pure ice and it was hard to get around without falling. No salt or sand was put down. Room was a new updated room but the wall behind the bed had marks all over it and we did notice that it wasn’t cleaned the best.

Ground floor suites are awful. Hear cars and any guests in the parking lot. At 4am had garbage truck pick up big commercial bin & at 6am recycling truck came. No insulation between rooms and rooms didn’t even have a closet but rolling rack only. Won’t stay here again

This hotel is very old, the rooms are spacious and well laid out but some updates need to be made, I know we stayed in a renovated room last year and it was nicer than the room we stayed in this time. The hair dryer in our room was broken (and dangerous) but the care taken by the staff was appreciated and If they can get all the spaces updated I'm certain this will continue to be a great hotel.

The room was very comfortable. Bed was a pillow top with memory foam, pillows were also memory foam, best sleep I've had in a long time. Over all room was nice, French doors separating bedroom from the rest of room. Bathroom decent size. Very clean, two flat screens with partial kitchen and lounge area in room. Very comfortable

The property was great. The hotel was absolutely beautiful inside very very clean however, one of the staff members should never be as receptionist at this hotel. I will never ever stay in one of these again. The staff member was very rude, ignorant, and belligerent.

The front desk were so helpful! Especially the lady in the office. My husband and I r seniors. We had trouble finding the hotel not from the area… she was on the phone with us and stayed till we made it to the hotel safely. We really appreciated her patience. Yes I would definitely book there again.

When I arrived I was informed my reservation had been cancelled. When I told the desk attendant I did not call to cancel my reservation she laughed at me and called me a liar. I assured her that I was not lying. After further questioning, she revealed it was a female who called to cancel. I am a man and the reservation was under my name. The staff continued to call me a liar and offer no resolution. When I asked if I could book another room, she said they had availability and booked me a room. She would not honor the room style or price point of my previous reservation that was “cancelled”. Overall I found the hotel staff to be extremely rude and not helpful in the slightest. This is a minor issue that could have been very easily resolved if they had a half competent employee at their desk. Terrible service and impression to leave with guests as their primary interaction.

The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly. The first night our air conditioning was not working properly so the next day I asked to switch rooms. I was told that they would take a look at it and when we came back from our day they had replaced the whole unit in our room. Excellent customer service!!

Great customer service! They upgraded my room for no additional cost. Need new doors on rooms as they are old and have to slam the door to close properly but other than that room was newly renovated and very clean and really comfortable bed! I would definitely come back!

Staff here are exceptional. Greg at the front desk at night deserves a shout out and a raise. This man goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best stay. Id also like to thank Dawn at front desk as well. I will always recommend this hotel to friends, family and colleagues.

We had a great stay at this hotel - it was not too far from Halifax only about a 12 min drive to North end. Hotel was new and in good condition, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast each day as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again if I have a car.

I awsys use the Coastal Inn while in Halifax. The staff are courteous and helpful. I always like its location that enablesme to travel to Mahone Bay. Peggy's Cove, etc.

This hotel was affordable, and it was about a ten (10) to fifteen (15) minute drive to get into Downtown Halifax. This hotel was also just under one (1) hour of a drive to arrive at Peggy’s Cove. Highway-102 and Highway-103 were very close by to this hotel. Many restaurants were located close by to this hotel. This hotel possessed a large parking lot. The staff members were friendly, helpful, and very diverse. There was free wifi at this hotel. There was a pool at this hotel, and I did some laps in it. This pool was a tad bit chilly, and much of the pool was very shallow. Unfortunately, the gym was closed due to some renovations. I was told that there was going to be no room service, but my room was actually serviced by the staff. My room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. My room had a desk, several chairs, a television, heat, and air-conditioning. The shower had plenty of hot water. I had some loud guests next to me during my initial night at this hotel, so I cranked up the air-conditioning to overcome their commotion. This hotel did allow guests to borrow movies and boardgames, but I did not view or use any of them. The breakfast had good juices, water, English muffins, toasts, bagels, waffles, pancakes, bananas, and apples. I would have preferred some breakfast pastries, as well, like muffins. Perhaps, this hotel should have a cold water machine in the lobby right where the machines for the coffee and the tea are located.

Nice and close to the amenities we wanted, such as Exhibition Park, Bayers Lake shopping and restaurants as well as Halifax shopping center. Staff was great, rooms cleaned, we had a renovated room but my daughter didn't. Breakfast was good, however a big fruit bowl would have been good for my grandkids and a pancake warmer would be wonderful. Free parking is great also.

The hotel is in an industrial area. We were able to walk to a great Thai restaurant right across the street. The staff were really great: friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was continental and fine to start the day: bagels, waffles, yoghurt, fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, etc. Coffee was available 24 hours as well as lemon water. We didn't use the pool but it looked spotless.

I would stay here again. It is not a fancy hotel but it is clean and well run. Beds were comfortable. Continental breakfast was fine although the breakfast room was a bit crowded. I would happily stay here again.

The renovated rooms have moved this location up several notches and placed it comparable to BW. The breakfast is adequate. It is a bit disorganized and could use attendant more frequently. The morning we were there the coffee maker was out of order and the orange juice was not running at full strength. However it was still possible to get an adequate meal.

Liked that we could park right outside our room door. Don't like the shower where you have to get into it to turn the water on, be nice if the other shower door opened. The breakfast was poor. No spoons and only hot food besides your toast/bagel selection was brown beans.

This hotel was fine. Included "breakfast" was sparse. Cereal, yogurt, fruit (disappeared very fast) toast. Not much else. No protein options. It was clean and quiet, but was pretty bare bones for the price we paid. The staff was very friendly, I will give them that. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Bed was VERY soft. Too much so.

We stayed 2 nights and the room wasn’t cleaned and wet towels weren’t changed after the first night we had to ask for dry towels. The breakfast was disappointing for a $300 a night the only thing that was hot was baked beans. No scrambled eggs or sausage.
