It s a pleasant trip to Kanuizawa.and hotel Wellies is must, serenity surrounding,welcoming atmosphere, nice staff (Isuzu),and good breakfast and dinner. I would like to visit Kanuizawa and the Wellies again.

This hotel is a hidden gem with helpful and friendly staff. Feels like a b&b with cooked breakfast, games area for adults and kids. The staff went above and beyond - helping us with transport to our next destination, making calls (in Japanese) and driving us to our shuttle connection. Rooms were comfortable and warm. It’s about 10mins from the town centre but they do offer pick up and drop offs from the train, and it makes it quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend!

The hotel/guesthouse is quite some distance from the central parts of Karuizawa. You would definitely need a car if staying here. Whilst newly renovated, the property feels like a poorly designed mixture of English and Japanese concepts that don’t really work well together. I’m confident there are better value for money options in Karuizawa.

Hoshino Onsen Hot Spring and Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Resort are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those in the mood for shopping can visit Harnile Terrace and Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza. Karuizawa Stone Church and Mount Asama are two other places to visit that come recommended. Take in the nearby slopes with downhill skiing, snowboarding, and ski runs, or check out other outdoor activities such as snowshoeing.
