Quick notes: Staff was very attentive and friendly; and was always quick to retrieve our rental car. Complimentary laundry was much appreciated during our stay. Quick access to airport. Extremely clean and thoughtful property. Thank you for the amazing hospitality.

Excellent friendly welcome at reception. Clean comfortable room. Really appreciated the free laundry on site inc free washing powder, a nice touch. Menu seemed overpriced for dinner, probably typical of high end hotels. Breakfast on day one was fine, day two a different story. No sour dough bread, Mexican beans were luke warm poached eggs took an age to arrive and when they did eventually arrive, they were cooked solid. Not sure what to say about a 5 star hotel that can’t get eggs right…..

We loved our stay here. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff are all so welcoming and helpful. There is a laundry and gym for guests to use. Very close to the casino and an Irish pub. The hotel restaurant was also very good. 10 minute walk to the city centre. Kitchenette in our room was great. We will definitely stay here again!

Small rooms. You had to pay a ridiculous amount for parking, which I did myself. Parking lot is tiny so they have to move cars around to get out. Definitely not a four or five star hotel.

There was no bath robe in my room, also the bathroom floor was dusty every day and I think they didn't really vacuum the floors every day. But the location and facility was nice. The staff was friendly. The design of the hotel is chic and modern.

The Sudima is a great choice for a few days in Christchurch. It's a 10 minute walk to downtown and also to the beautiful botanic gardens. Close to coffee shops and restaurants. Our room was large and very, very quiet with nice decor and lots of light. The bed was very comfortable and there was a small kitchenette with supplies for coffee/tea (including decaf instant coffee, which we didn't find at any other hotel/motel that we stayed in during our month-long trip). There was even a flat iron! There's a restaurant downstairs but we didn't try it. The only downsides are that parking is $30/night and while some of the staff were great, others weren't very friendly.

Perfectly fine for business travellers, not great for couple on tour with two large bags. Room was small and had only one comfortable place to sit. Good location with many places to eat nearby and CBD a 12 min walk. My VIP status was not acknowledged at checkin, but this seems common in NZ hotels in the hotels.com listings. None have done so, and this includes about 10 different places. Biggest problem was a family near our room which allowed their children to play loudly in the hall. Not hotels fault, but be aware this not a very relaxing hotel.

Das Hotel ist für Gäste ohne Auto gut gelegen. Das Stadtzentrum ist zehn Gehminuten entfernt. In unmittelbarer Hotelnähe befinden sich Bushaltestellen. Von dort aus gelangt man per Bus zu weiter entfernten Zielen wie dem New Brighton Beach und dem Antarctic Center. Mein Zimmer inklusive Bad war modern und in gutem Zustand. Das Bett war gut, die Dusche hatte jedoch nur geringen Druck. Es gab zwei Kochplatten, aber kein Kochgeschirr. Das bereitgestellte Geschirr war teilweise schmutzig. Das Frühstücksbuffet bot nur wenige Optionen für eine ausgewogene und gesunde Ernährung. Dafür gab es deutlich zu lang gegarte Champignons, künstlich schmeckendes Rührei, Bacon, Waffeln, Pancakes und Kuchen. Auf Nachfrage gab es Käse und ein hart gekochtes Ei. Ich hatte mir von dem Hotel deutlich mehr versprochen.

Clean and well-equipped room. There is a kitchen with everything you need, we didn't get to use it. The room was really beautiful and decorated, large and comfortable beds and a luxurious pillow menu so we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

The stay was great except for the 7.15am call advising that our room service was on its way?? We didn’t order room service. Then the knock on the door from housekeeping at 8.30, it felt like we had overstayed our welcome. No Mother’s Day sleep in!

The place was ok, a bit overpriced for what we got, hair dryer didn’t work properly, coffee machine leaked water all over the bench. I booked for breakfast with their restaurant but missed one and asked if I could use the credit to order some drink at the restaurant, the guy Sumit was power tripping in front of his colleague by saying no with attitude and kept interrupting me and said to me “if you’re after a drink, I’ll give you one wine and that’s it”, sounds horrible to a guest. I spent $800 for 2 nights. Other kiwi staff tried to make it up for me which I appreciated but Sumit’s attitude was unacceptable.

Very close to Hagley Park and Botanical gardens. Walked all around then had a fantastic dinner at restaurant. Purchased the breakfast and it was extremely good - highly recommend.
