I greatly enjoyed my two week stay at this hotel. The check in/out is super easy by self serve terminals. Entry is secure with card entry to front door, elevators, and room. It is only a 2 minutes walk to Melbourne Central station, where one can take the Mero train anywhere using the system. In the heart of the CBD (Central Business District) where there are many choices to eat. Some restaurants even open late. Shopping is also everywhere. Greatly recommend the cafe on the ground floor, as it will serve breakfast until 2:00 PM. This is a really good place to be, if you like to be in the middle of everything you would every need. My research is correct, i highly recommend.

rooms were small but clean .Staff very friendly and helpful breakfast was excellent and bringing omelet to your table was nice touch .Also coffee out of machine was first class .The only thing i thought was quite expensive was $70 To park and $50 for breakfast on top of the $170 i had already paid for room made a one night in the city very expensive when they are asking people to come into the city as people arent coming in to town to eat and see shows etc

What a fantastic location! We walked everywhere all weekend, valet parking was easy on swift, hotel staff were lovely and the café down stairs has delicious options. Will definitely stay here again!

Room was spotless and the staff courteous and helpful. The location in the heart of the CBD was excellent. Room was quite small but the facilities were modern and good use was made of the space available. There is a good restaurant and small cafe at the hotel and the gym is very good. Had no interaction with any staff. The room was nice but a few issues with cleaning, the toilet had pubic hair on the seat and the bench with the sink wasnt wiped down and was sticky and had remnants of what ever was spilt there by the last guests.

Customer service was great. Unfortunately our room was not clean. There were clothes under the bed that were from previous occupants. Toilet dirty on arrival an smelt. Shower also drips throughout night even when checked it was off.

Great location, nearby Melbourne Central and all the shopping. Self Check In and Self Check Out was not working for me, however staff at reception were lovely. Compact room is extremely compact it isn’t an understatement. Pee was still left on the toilet seat and there was a few hairs in the bed as well.

I was surprised at how small the room was, not even a chair to sit on. The shower was very small and would not fit a large person in it, plus the water randomly went hot then cold which was very annoying! But there was no basin in the bathroom, just a sink in the tiny living area, now that was unusual!!

When they say a compact room they mean compact. No table or chair. Barely enough room for 1 suitcase. The shower was so small when I bent over to was my feet my head pushed the door open. Wouldn't recommend compact room if you were a couple on a longer stay. Nice and handy to restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommended adding the breakfast to your stay.

Room was small but that was okay since I was out mostly during the day. Conveniently located near cafes and restaurants. Strangely, the only sink for the room was located right outside the bathroom in the living area. Only negative experience was that I waiting 15 minutes for the staff member to locate my bag (left my bag at the reception after checking out so that I could explore more of the city on my last day), which caused me some stress as I had to travel to the airport.

I didn't like the long waiting time at the time of check in. There was a shortage of staff and we had to line up almost 30 minutes. Rest everything was good except there could be some nice fragrance in the room. Lemongrass or some nice lavender or a general fragrance that we smell in hotels.

The receptionist was incredibly rude. I tried to check in online at the hotel but encountered a problem and wanted a quick question answered and went to seek help at reception. I was told I had to check in online in the other area, which I had tried to do, as the receptionist only dealt with people staying at the Novotel section of the hotel. I tried to explain the problem I’d encountered; however, I was blanked and dismissed. The receptionist also treated the person ahead of me in the same way. Are Ibis guests considered and treated as second-class citizens by the wider hotel group? If not, I suggest the receptionist, and I have her name if the hotel cares enough to contact me, needs serious support and retraining to understand the importance of customer service and care in the hospitality industry. She is the front person of the Ibis and Novotel brands in Melbourne and this should be a concern to the group. One of her colleagues saw how I had been treated and tried to apologise. I really felt for this person’s embarrassment.

We had a booking error due to a misunderstanding with the time change, and the hotel would not work with us. We had to pay the first night that we weren’t even there. They’re not remotely flexible or understanding. I would not stay there again and we travel quite a bit. We’re very honest people and understanding of policy but this was pretty crappy. We are fully aware that they could have worked with us. They chose not to. They chose profit. I never leave bad reviews. In this case I felt I needed to. We 100% do not recommend this place.
