We paid 210 CHF per night for the most basic room at Holiday Inn Express Luzern Kriens. While Switzerland is undoubtedly an expensive destination, this hotel offered poor value considering it is located outside the Luzern city centre and still requires additional travel to reach the main attractions. The room itself was very basic and lacked amenities that are increasingly standard even at more affordable hotels. There was no refrigerator, no slippers and no in-room safe, making the stay less convenient than expected for the price. Breakfast was equally underwhelming. The selection was extremely limited with little variety from day to day, and certainly not what I would expect from a hotel charging over 200 CHF per night. What disappointed us most, however, was the level of service. The staff were generally unhelpful and slow to respond to requests. When we asked for disposable cups, instead of simply bringing them to our room, we were told to come downstairs to collect them ourselves. After making the trip, we found that they did not even have any disposable cups available, making the entire experience a frustrating waste of time. Overall, the hotel felt functional rather than welcoming. Between the lack of basic room amenities, mediocre breakfast, inconvenient location and indifferent service, it did not offer good value for the price. There are likely better accommodation options closer to Luzern city centre that provide a more comfortable stay for a similar cost.

No AC which seems to be a country issue most hotels in Switzerland do not have. Don’t let them tell you you don’t need it when it’s 78 and 80° you need it. The beds here were very hard and we asked for a mattress topper. They had no idea what we were talking about and gave us a very small comforter to lay on, hotel is OK just not a great experience.
