Et supert opphold! Nydelig rom i Art- Deco stil, tilsvarende mye av stilen på hele hotellet. Fantastisk frokost med enkelte retter som bordservering. Fantastisk hyggelig og kunnskapsrik stab! Baren, Pier 42 MÅ besøkes, flere signaturcoctails som er i verdensklasse.

This place is all about details. The staff are incredibly welcoming and remember guests names. The hotel is in the heart of Oslo and easy to get to all of the attractions. Its steps away from Oslo Central Station which makes it easily accessible by train. If you're a light sleeper you may opt for a room on the interior since there is a tram/bus station outside the hotel. The gym is well equipped: weights, cardio, and boxing equipment. They also have a sauna which is wonderful after a day of sightseeing in the cold. Breakfast has a large selection of food including gluten free breads and treats.

This was a great place to stay - right across from the train station. The only hiccup was they have no bellman and a couple of sets of steps up to the elevator.

Great location. Friendly team on the front desk and in the bar. Breakfast choice & quality was excellent, although the service was patchy. Room was very stylish but lacked sufficient clothes storage for a 4 night stay. Finally, no bar or restaurant service on a Sunday night which we found disappointing for a hotel of this standard / price.

While the exterior was under maintenance, that did not take away from the beautiful interior of the property, incredibly helpful staff, comfortable accommodations, and amazing location. The rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms very clean and luxurious feeling. The property was clean and the staff was very friendly. The location was absolutely perfect, in the middle of main Oslo sites, restaurants, and fabulous water views. Will recommend this property to anyone visiting Oslo.

I was a solo 60 yrold male American tourist in Oslo for the first time for 4 nights. I can't imagine a better hotel to choose. The location is perfect, next to central station and walkable to the opera house and waterfront. The room was clean, nice and comfy, shower was amazing. Breakfast was really great each morning, the bar is nice and alive in the evenings. All staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Fantastic hotel and experience, highly recommended.

Staff were courteous, helpful and attentive. Location was very central in Oslo with all city centre amenities to hand and great transport links a stone throw away. Breakfast buffet was great, and offered a huge variety of choices, can’t comment on the dinner as we were out and about both nights of our stay. Hotel was very clean, decoration was fitting and sensitive to the historic nature of the building, there was significant building work happening at the rear which we were not affected by at all during our stay. The bed was very comfy, only feedback is the size of the duvets, we requested an additional duvet which was in our room without hesitation. I would definitely recommend and if back in Oslo would stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

For en opplevelse! Hotellet gir virkelig New York vibes. Stilig, gjennomført og en god atmosfære. Rommet var behagelig, og sengen helt fantastisk. Til tross for at hotellet ligger midt i Oslogryta, var det imponerende godt lydisolert. Vi hørte verken trikken eller folkelivet utenfor. Frokosten må være en av de beste jeg har hatt: delikat, eksklusiv og gjennomført ned til minste detalj. Kombinasjonen av a la carte og buffet, og nydelig presentasjon gjorde virkelig inntrykk. Hvis jeg skal trekke for noe, så må det være den doble dyna, upraktisk når man er to 😅 Ellers var alt helt utmerket. Hit kommer vi garantert tilbake!

We stayed here for a few days after an Arctic cruise. It’s a great central location with easy access to the excellent public transportation in Oslo. The staff is friendly and helpful and the bathroom was large with a great shower. The breakfast buffet was very good. The only down side is the small room with no where to put luggage and limited space to hang or store things. There was one chair in our room located behind the TV which was on a stand. Our friends had a little bit bigger room. The decor was nice and beds were comfortable

The room was quite small compared to what i as used to. But the real issue is that the armoire had such shallow drawers, there was no place to store my clothes for my 3 day stay. There were only four hangers for shirts or jackets. Most of my clothes remained in my suitcase.

Rooms have high level of finish, especially bathroom. Overall room size is a bit small. Included breakfast was fantastic. Staff was super helpful and cordial. Location is next to center of mass transit; train, tram and bus so access to most anywhere is simple. Magor tourist site ar within walking distance. Exceptional property and operation.

We stayed at this property for 3 nights. The room was fine but as the outside temperature increased so did the room temperature, in spite of the supposed “air conditioning”. The first night the temperature was comfortable, on the second night it was warm and on the third night it was hot and we could not sleep. Upon checkout, I complained to the young lady at the front desk (same person that checked us in) and she apologized and asked if we had not gotten a fan. I told her that we did not. She told me that she would issue a credit for that night. After over week and no credit, I followed up with the hotel on several occasions and got no response. I also followed with Expedia and the hotel told them that they would make no adjustment to my bill. I do not recommend staying at Amerikalinhen because the a/c does not work and management cannot be relied upon.

This is is an overpriced hotel for what it offers. Our room was serviced late each day on the basis they were short staffed. The breakfast manager was excellent but the staff had a negative attitude. Henryka at reception was the only helpful member of staff.

A beautiful hotel within such close distance to the train station, buses and trams. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful. I even got some birthday chocolates and some special birthday pancakes with a birthday candle on top. The rooms, bar and breakfast room were lovely. The only downsides, and we’re being picky, were that the hot breakfast selection in the buffet self serve area could’ve been slightly hotter. Also, the building directly behind the hotel has been demolished, so there will be building works for a few years until the replacement building is complete.

Stayed here numerous times over the years and hotel started to get a bit tired Staff on arrival were great but on departure wanted to charge us for late checkout - 100kr per hour - c’mon seriously at 5 star hotel !!! We have stayed at ally best hotels in Oslo and this is moving down the league table sorry!

The Reception staff was truly outstanding. So very helpful. Our room had a the property appointments for a hotel of this stature. The location is perfect for center city of Oslo. Being so close to the central train station was huge plus. We highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was very clean, decoration was fitting and sensitive to the historic nature of the building, there was significant building work happening at the rear which we were not affected by at all during our stay. The bed was very comfy, only feedback is the size of the duvets, we requested an additional duvet which was in our room without hesitation. I would definitely recommend and if back in Oslo would stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

God frokost, men helt fullt i matsalen og vi måtte spørre etter kaffe og rydding av bord. Vært der i vinter og da var det helt utmerket men med fullt hotell ble det litt kaotisk. Noe av varmmaten var ikke gjennomvarmt så ble litt skuffet, når det er ganske dyrt å bo der. Men rommene er helt nydelige og fantastiske bad.

Very close to train station which makes it a bit touristy - however room quality was appropriate for price - breakfast was nice and found our best restaurant experience on the waterfront which was a bit of a walk Wish it was a bit more off the main road area

The customer service is outstanding, and the breakfast presentation was exquisite! So much to choose from the buffets and you can also order from the menu. The hotel is well-situated next to the train station, and within 5 minutes walk to the Opera House and 10 minutes walk to the Munch Museum.

I was a solo 60 yrold male American tourist in Oslo for the first time for 4 nights. I can't imagine a better hotel to choose. The location is perfect, next to central station and walkable to the opera house and waterfront. The room was clean, nice and comfy, shower was amazing. Breakfast was really great each morning, the bar is nice and alive in the evenings. All staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Fantastic hotel and experience, highly recommended.

A beautiful hotel within such close distance to the train station, buses and trams. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful. I even got some birthday chocolates and some special birthday pancakes with a birthday candle on top. The rooms, bar and breakfast room were lovely. The only downsides, and we’re being picky, were that the hot breakfast selection in the buffet self serve area could’ve been slightly hotter. Also, the building directly behind the hotel has been demolished, so there will be building works for a few years until the replacement building is complete.

I love this hotel! The room was awesome with great technology features, the Pier 42 bar was sooo nice, the staff were very helpful, and they had the best breakfast buffet of our whole 17 day trip! Great location as well. We arrived by train and there it was!! Walked to the fort, the opera house, the pier, etc.

Fabulous Hotel in the heart of Oslo, steps from the Central Station, rooms are nicely appointed and bathrooms was very nice and spacious.
