Great location, great historical pub, lots of games and activities, good home cooked food. Fab breakfast. Lovely stay and walking distance to shambles and centre with parking.

There are a number of rooms above the pub. Stayed for one night and would stay again for one night. Close to the Barbican, had a single room with ensuite. The shower was lovely, only having a hand towel less so. The room was very warm and a fan was provided but you had to decide between quiet and sweaty. Breakfast was included and there was an extensive menu. Just a bit mixed - good for a night, couldn't see myself staying there for longer.

It’s okay hotel if you don’t expect welcoming from them. It was hot in our room even they provided a little fan and oscillating fans but it was hot day. The shower is too hot to handle and so is the tap.

This is an edge of town pub. Main use for the local population but has a few rooms that make it ideal location for the Barbican theatre. It's not 4/5 star so the people who complain about a hair on the tolet floor, those fools need not go.

We had a lovely stay in the Victoria in York. Near the centre. Free parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was really good. Great selection. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Would definitely recommend too anyone ☀️
