The ONLY problem was the parking. Which, in the hotel’s defense, they don’t have a place for a parking lot. You can park across the street or a parking garage catty corner from the hotel. Other than that, I highly recommend this place.

Beautifully restored historic building, very charming. But there was no drive up/drop off capability. So you had to drop your things off on the sidewalk and park elsewhere, then carry everything up the stairs into the lobby.

The Stella is a hidden gym and I would actually travel to Kenosha to spend a quiet couple of nights at this hotel. The rooms are amazing. They have a great rooftop bar. There’s dining and a coffee bar in the morning. Staff is professional. This hotel was definitely the cherry on the cake of my business trip!

First of all, trying to get parking information from the front desk was extremely confusing. They kept telling us that parking was in the hotel building, not the building across the street, which we eventually figured out. The bed mattress and bed pillows were hard and extremely uncomfortable. Our room was on the first floor and I tried to utilize the ice machine on my floor. Empty. Went to tell hotel staff because I thought they might want to refill it. The desk attendant could not be bothered and told me to go all the way up to the 4th floor and get ice. I was disappointed with our overnight stay after reading “exceptional” reviews, and especially after paying what I paid for the one night stay. Both my husband and I give the hotel a C. The one bright point of our stay was walking down to the 1844 restaurant just to check it out and we engaged in a very nice conversation with the hostess at the desk who was very nice and helpful. The front desk staff needs more people like her.

Beautiful hotel. Because there is not easy access with luggage into the hotel, we would have appreciated valet service. Also, it would be nice to have drinking water In the lobby for hotel guest. Water that you did not have to purchase.

Very convenient location and rooms are nicely appointed. We stayed 4 nights. Other family members had issues with room reservations, promising connecting rooms then having none available and another had booked a suit only to find out it had been given to another guest. Our room was not serviced once, no trash, coffee refills, etc. I had to flag someone down in the hallway for another box of tissue.

The management at the hotel was incredibly poor and showed no remorse after I reported seeing a bed bug. The manager displayed a complete lack of concern for my situation. I have photos and videos of the bed bug as evidence, but the experience was still the worst I've ever had. I'm genuinely hurt by their total lack of empathy following such a distressing encounter.

Upon arrival, the hotel was beautiful. The room was adorable. However. Once we got settled and went to bed, my partner and I woke up to ants crawling all over us. We were only given a partial refund from the hotel. Most likely won’t be staying again.

Filthy smelly room. We were given a better room after I told them about our room. The young man at the counter was very nice. I am given it a 2 star because there is no reason why they would put anyone in a nasty room. This is the hotels primary job, to accommodate guests with a clean room after a long day of travel. This should never happen. Although the second room was down the hall it was still an inconviniece that could have been avoided. Hopefully the hotel management takes this seriously and they will do better for their future guests.

This is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location. I would have rated it a 5, but unfortunately there were a few issues. The refrigerator didn’t work, and it wasnt fixed even after we brought it to staff's attention. Also, the conditioner bottle in the shower was empty, and the body wash was nearly empty. And the in room coffee is not good. There were many plusses: the rooftop terrace where we listened to live music, the ice cream shop across the street, the dinosaur museum a couple blocks away. The hotel restaurants did not disappoint and they were reasonably priced. The cafe offers a $7 soup and salad bar which included a delicious clam chowder, and the restaurant provided a large selection of seafood dishes on Friday.

The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful! The building/room itself was showing signs of wear and had some bad design decisions: impractical bathroom sink, concrete ceiling that amplified sound, noisy AC unit, the usual leaky glass shower door. It's a lovely property and great location, I hope the owners will keep these things in mind for the next renovation

Beautiful hotel and the restaurant 1884 was great! However, the beds were SO UNCOMFORTABLE that I think I got about 4 collective hours of sleep, and the television stations were confusing with no option to stream your own services (Netflix, Hulu…)

The building and interior are beautiful and it’s a unique place. Room was nicely decorated. We stayed in room 301 which is one the front corner all we heard most of the night was loud vehicles racing up and down the street or large trucks

We couldn’t get heat in the room, the fan kept blowing but the room never regulated to a set temperature. Thermostat was difficult to set. Room only heated to 60 degrees. Beautiful hotel though!

Property is clean and convenient to walk to restaurants and shops. Do not expect your room a minute before the 4:00 check in. The hotel is very nice and updated. The room was nice but hard to sleep due to noisy (rattled all night) air conditioner. Also, the smoke detector has an obnoxious flashing light all night long. If you like total darkness to sleep you are in trouble as the flashing light lights up the room.

If you don’t mind dragging your suitcase up 3 flights of 10 steps just enter the front door where no one greets you, no bellhop in sight, and you feel like you’ve entered a courtroom, after Driving 1 hr from the airport, then this is the place for you. If you don’t mind 3 unsmiling employees sitting behind a desk, while you struggle with you suitcase , this is, again, the hotel for you. I keenly felt like I was disrupting the nice day the three people behind the desk was having. Worst of all, they don’t allow pets!?!? The only thing they consistently well is charge exorbitant prices so you can feel good about yourself when you tell friends you stayed at the Stella. I’ll take the Hampton Inn over in 6th street which is right in the water, a walking/running path, and you’re welcomed like family for a lot less. Stay away from Stell!

We were there for a wedding. The event / banquet staff was phenomenal. The front desk staff was great. The rooms spectacular. The location was perfect! If there was one knock, it was the bartender on Friday night. She was alone, but had no clue how to manage her time or the tasks when the bar was so busy. Shame on the Food and Beverage Manager. The hotel was sold out and they should have done better. But luckily, there were other great bars within walking distance, so after a 20 minute wait we walked to one of them. I can’t imagine the $$ lost…there were at least 10 people waiting for drinks when we left, and some wanted food, too!

We have been to this hotel many times. We want to love it but unfortunately they are not quite there yet. Check in was great but never received the items we requested to our room after been told no problem. We asked for a late check out…just needed extra 20 min and was denied when we knew the hotel was not fully booked. We had about 3 confusing phone calls from staff on our event tickets we purchased at ballroom. They could not find our reservation, even though we had email confirmation. The food in the bar/restaurant is just ok. We did have a great time in the ballroom and love the hotel decor. Overall we would go again just can not give them 5 stars. Staff try’s hard needs better communication internally. Room was clean.

I stay here when visiting family and I usually have a good experience, but I was having coffee in my room the last morning I was there, with the “not now” sign on the door, and someone on staff just opened the door to come in. The Stella is a hidden gym and I would actually travel to Kenosha to spend a quiet couple of nights at this hotel. The rooms are amazing. They have a great rooftop bar. There’s dining and a coffee bar in the morning. Staff is professional. This hotel was definitely the cherry on the cake of my business trip!

First of all, trying to get parking information from the front desk was extremely confusing. They kept telling us that parking was in the hotel building, not the building across the street, which we eventually figured out. The bed mattress and bed pillows were hard and extremely uncomfortable. Our room was on the first floor and I tried to utilize the ice machine on my floor. Empty. Went to tell hotel staff because I thought they might want to refill it. The desk attendant could not be bothered and told me to go all the way up to the 4th floor and get ice. I was disappointed with our overnight stay after reading “exceptional” reviews, and especially after paying what I paid for the one night stay. Both my husband and I give the hotel a C. The one bright point of our stay was walking down to the 1844 restaurant just to check it out and we engaged in a very nice conversation with the hostess at the desk who was very nice and helpful. The front desk staff needs more people like her.

I really enjoyed my stay here and the staff was quick to correct a few issues that arose. But — I got charged for two cocktails after check out when I only enjoyed one of them. There were three cocktails when I checked in and two remained when I left. When I called to follow up on the charges, they said that housekeeping marked that two were used, even though it should have been only one. They didn’t correct the issue, so I essentially paid $40 for a pre-made Old Fashioned. Not cool. I will find somewhere else to stay on my next trip out to see my family.

Far exceeded our expectations. Such a lovely building repurposed for a hotel with high-end appointments, roomy and bright. We could walk to the many nearby cafes including the iconic Frank's Diner. Two excellent museums are about a mile away in Harbor Park. The large veranda in front offers a place to sip coffee and read.

We had a wonderful stay. The beds are comfortable. The room was quiet. We stayed three days we didn’t want house cleaning, but we wanted fresh towels. The staff were happy to replace them. The game room was fun. The little cafe had good food. The ice cream shop across the street “Scoops” had delicious ice cream. Franks Cafe two blocks away has great food! It is walking distance to the lake. We had a wonderful stay!!!

We come to Kenosha often and stay at The Stella whenever we can. Tyler was amazing at the front desk, very accommodating. We always get a Heritage room. Have tried others and weren’t near as pleased. We had dinner at the restaurant and were not impressed. Poor service and just ok food. The breakfast/coffee area is amazing. Food/coffee are very good, but that sweet girl runs her tail off and always has a smile! She’s awesome! We’ve stayed here at least 5 years and tried Scoops across the street for the first time. Do it!!! We’re hooked. We love, love, love the Stella!

It is an overall good hotel. Had to switch rooms since as soon as we walked into our room it had a smell. It’s not a high end hotel as far as linens and soap products, but it nice. The area is within walking of Lake Michigan and downtown. Although downtown is not too exciting. Several bars and restaurants. Mostly closed up store fronts. Hotel is real good for events. The food at our event was very good especially for banquet style! Morning coffee and breakfast is good.?
