La'gent Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho – Highly Recommended! The location of the hotel was absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the welcome drink they offered as soon as we arrived—a cold draft beer—was the perfect way to refresh ourselves after a long flight. We stayed with our 13- and 14-year-old children, and for a hotel in Japan, the room size was quite reasonable. We had a great time in the evening, sitting around the small table in the room, enjoying snacks and drinks we picked up from the nearby 7-Eleven. Our room was on the 9th floor, and we made good use of the coin laundry on the 2nd floor. Although we heard that it might be noisy because of the nearby hospital, it was surprisingly quiet, which we really appreciated. The staff were incredibly attentive and had everything prepared—from toothbrushes to shower towels. When it rained, they even let us borrow umbrellas for free, which was such a thoughtful touch. I would definitely want to stay here again when visiting Tokyo. Oh, and one more thing—Don Quijote is just a 6-minute walk away, and there are plenty of Korean restaurants within a 5-minute walk, which made it even more convenient for us as Koreans. 😊

Room is clean and bright. They do not provide water bottle in room for lower floors/smaller rooms. Their smoking room is very depressing. Their overall unique designs at the hallways and rooms are exceptional.

We stayed 3nights. Very clean, helpful staff. Under 5minute walk to main areas of Shinjuku (restaurants, entertainment district). Good size room for 2 people. Laundry facilities ($5). Bar downstairs with light food options. Safe area, police station down road. Noisy each night, near the hospital you will hear the ambulance sirens.

Very Clean. Great Breakfast buffet. Able to accommodate our large group of 35 people arriving and leaving. Like the theme and decor and PJ’s. Would return to stay again!!!!

Second time staying here. We would stay here again if we ever came back and stayed in Shinjuku again. There’s a laundry machine in the hotel and we were able to wash and dry our clothes for less than what our other hotel’s laundry service was charging for just one shirt to be washed.

Very satisfied with the hotel. It’s close to Shinjuku metro station . Breakfast is good but a bit annoyed to reporting time for breakfast. The room and service and staff are excellent . Love the idea that they have laundry on site.

We only had a single night here, but did enjoy the stay. Location was good, room size was good and most importantly, the room was quiet. There was a complementary coffee machine in the room, which was very nice. The staff in the reception were very nice and friendly when we checked in, and there was also a complementary drink in the bar.

This was my first time staying at this property, and I chose it based on ChatGPT’s recommendation due to its proximity to several iconic Japanese landmarks. From the outside, the hotel looked sleek and modern, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. As a nice touch, I received two freshly tapped Japanese beers from the bar as a welcome gift, which was a great way to start the stay. When we got to our floor, the hallway had a bold, eclectic design that stood out. Once inside our room, however, the space was noticeably small. We had heard ahead of time that luggage storage was available due to the compact size of the rooms, but we chose to keep our two large suitcases and two carry-ons inside, which made the room feel even tighter. That said, the bed was comfortable, and the room had a small fridge (which you’ll need to manually turn on). Despite being in a lively neighborhood, the room was surprisingly quiet, and I slept well. The highlight for me was the bathroom, especially the high-tech Japanese toilet with full bidet functions, which added a touch of luxury. Just outside the hotel, less than 100 yards away, the area was buzzing with activity. It was great being able to walk to so many interesting spots and explore vibrant parts of the city on foot. We also used the GO Taxi app (note: it only works once you're in Japan) to visit Shibuya Crossing and explore that famous district. Overall, we had a great time.

The hotel staff was super friendly and the cleaning ladies did a fantastic job. The only downside was that the washer/dryer does not dry the clothes very well and they only have two machines.

Staff friendly helpful, good amenities, bar not open every night? Rooms a bit small for two people, had to leave clothes in our suitcase, good location.

This hotel is in a central location and rooms are clean. The front staff were very helpful and kind. There is a basketball court right outside which was fun to watch from our window. The breakfast was expensive for what is was and quality was lacking. The 3rd floor had bags and bags of laundry lining the hallway every day for hours (most of the day). I liked the decor and wanted pictures but it was always a mess.

It’s a decent hotel, a bit overpriced for what you get, I chose it because it could accommodate 4, and of all the comparable hotels this one had the biggest room, however still small, and the beds were uncomfortable maybe because the mattresses are set on the floor, room was very dusty when I opened the blinds there was a plume of dust flying through the air, I wiped the window frame down and it was very dusty. It’s in an ok area, lots of activity, near a hospital and police station, a 7-11 is around the corner and a coffee shop steps from the entrance, it’s a short walk to the Godzilla hotel, Don Quixote, and across the street from korea town, there are places to eat everywhere, one of the other reviews says it’s the red light district, but I did not notice anything unsavory, just people going about their business. It is not as clean as Asakusa or shibuya, but there is shinjuku station near by so traveling is convenient.

My partner and I spent five days here and it was pretty convenient for us. Close to restaurants, train stations and bus stops. Room are quite small but if you’re doing a lot of exploring it is perfect. The breakfast was pretty simple but nice. The staff are lovely and bonus that they do luggage forwarding for you. Rooms are cleaned every second day.

위치적으로는 신주쿠와 신오오쿠보 관광을하시기에 편리합니다.신오오쿠보 돈키호테와도 가깝고 호텔에는 한국분스텝이 있어 언어적으로도 불편함이 적습니다.4인실에 묵었는데 방은 침대2개와 그아래 요를 2개 깔아 캐리어를 펼칠자리도 나오지않습니다.위생의 문제라기보다는 침구류와 내부에는 먼지가 좀있어 좀 움직이면 조명 불빛사이로 번지가 좀 있는게 보입니다.조식은 딱 금액대비 필요한 정도로 세팅이되있고 매주 월요일기준으로 일주일단위로 메뉴교체가 됩니다.1층에 자판기있는곳에 제빙기와 얼음을 담을수있는 플라스틱컵이 비치되있고 전자레인지는 따로없어 데워야하는 음식들은 편의점에서 데워서 오시거나 호텔에 부탁을 따로하셔야합니다.2일에 한번씩 내부를 청소해주고 수건은 원하실때 계속 가져다줍니다.내부공기청정기가있는데 옆물통에 물을 채우고 가동해야합니다.2일에 한번정도 채웠습니다.

The location is good, it is in the middle of the Shinjuku -- very convinent. The hotel is new and clean. Staff is very friendly.

Everything was perfect, super clean, the stuff really nice, location very good, in a busy area, but we didn't hear anything at night. I would definitely recommend!

The rooms are small but the decor and overall ambience made the rooms feel generously spacious and comfortable.

The room is very cute with Japanese style decoration. We booked this room for 4 but ended up with 2 people and space was just nice. Would have been cramped with 4 people sleeping with little to no room for luggages. Bathroom and other amenities are great. One star reduction due to location across the hospital and we heard ambulance in and out all night.

Very sleezey area of Tokyo. Rooms are tiny but clean. Biggest single issue I had was there were no drawers or shelves to put my clothes. Makes absolutely no sense. We came back to the Hotel on Sunday and the bar was closed at 5pm . So no drinks or food being served in this Hotel and no notice given to guests ref this. Breakfast was good and staff were brillant.

The hotel was well located for access to public transport, shops and restaurants. However the area itself could appear a bit intimidating. The room was clean but there was little to no storage. The best thing about the hotel was the staff - they were very pleasant and helpful and made us feel very welcome!

La chambre de 36 m2 est superbe .. presente tout le confort nécessaire. La chambre de 22m2 est tout aussi confortable, meme si plus petite. Le personnel de l hotel est disponible et efficace. L acceuil y est chaleureux et la distance a Shinjuku station est de moins de 10 min

Staff was excellent, very friendly and super helpful. The room is small! It was just me with 1 full size suitcase and there was barely enough room for me to fold open my suitcase (on the floor) and then had to hop over my suitcase every time I went to the bathroom of left the room. I can’t imagine 2 people staying in the room trying to play Tetris with their suitcases each and every time they need something out of their bag.

The staff at the property were friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the frequent sounds of sirens, due to the hotels proximity to the police station. But as a heavy sleeper, this did not prevent me from falling asleep in the comfortable bed. I would recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper like my partner.

We enjoyed our stay. It was a convenient location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I found my mattress too hard, and my teenager found the futon too soft, but everyone's preferences are different for that, It was handy to be able to do our laundry on premises. It would be nice if the privacy setting for the toilet was not automatically on, as the noise was bothersome at night and it takes a few seconds to turn off, but that was a minor concern as well.

Great location and very clean, but the room was a bit small and the bed was too firm for my liking. Just be aware that there’s a deep step to get into the bathroom.

Hotel has nice decor and close to many shops and restaurants. Nightlife around the area springs into action every night. Staff are friendly and helpful. They helped with our luggage forwarding and even helped with our call to airline company to make changes.

Clean room with helpful staff that can speak English. Had incident with booking only one night instead of two but the hotel staff were able to work with us to extend our stay.

Wonderful stay at a wonderful hotel. Great location and close to train and shopping. The entire staff were outstanding. Excellent english, friendly, happy and truly welcoming. Thank you La'Gent we will be back.....can't wait.

Overall great stay for the price. Staff is amazing. Very welcoming and answered a questions. Our luggage arrived 3 days before we did and they had it waiting in our room when we arrived. Loved that.

The staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful. Everybody took delivering customer service very seriously. After we arrived at the hotel, we were concerned about the room size. Ashley, a front desk clerk, was very helpful and ended up resolving all of our questions. We ended up staying in a nice room at fair price. Thank you so very much.

The hotel is located in a very convenient near both east and west shinjiku station. Both the staffs are friendly and willing to help. The hotel is quite new and well equipped. The buffet breakfast is nice with wide choices.

Our stay at La gent has been great. The location was close to trains, food options, shopping and entertainment. Walking distance to 3 main train stations that we’ve used. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much for them to deal with. They even booked a taxi for our departure. Breakfast was great with good choices.

For those looking to stay in the Kabukicho area in Shinjuku, this is a great place to stay. This is a stone through away from Shin-Okubo.

The property was in excellent condition however it is situated in a less upscale area where it was a little seedier. I would not bring kids to this area. Also a little further from subways or JR trains about 15 mins walk away.

the location is great, less than a 10 minute walk from the station which was very convenient. in the heart of shinjuku but slightly away from all the chaos. the room was kept clean and staff were all very nice.

Clean and comfy hotel room. Station for airport pick up was only 5 min away.

It was ok, staff was nice and the hotel clean. You have to choose a time for breakfast the day before that can be a bit inconvenient when you’re on vacation.

Great area right in the middle of all the action, if you are sensitive to noise then this hotel might not suit you and if you think space is a concern which most Tokyo hotels are smaller then get the bigger chain ones. The bed for the twin rooms fits someone 6ft 3 and below. Lots to eat including Starbucks and many convenience stores and the heart of Shinjuku is just at your doorstep. Research that area first as its vibrant and ain’t for the faint hearted. Athel free coffee shop just exit on your right makes great matcha and just two steps if you need a massage the palour on your right has a green sign does great massage for feet and body. Service is polite and nice by the chinese masseur. Breakfast could improve slightly by noting if the milk is semi skimmed or have an option for those who are lactose intolerant, goes the same for the yoghurt. More variety would be nice. Food options can change different days be great. Fresh fruits will be nice also rather than only cocktail food. The rooms are clean and provides good amenities required. Staff in general are polite and helpful. Thank you

Hotel was quite central for kabuchiko area. Very small rooms but I think we expected that from reading other reviews. People talked a lot about it being a dangerous area but it’s absolutely not. Felt super safe even coming home at like 12am. Great places to eat around the hotel. I had booked for the night before we arrived cause we were coming in at 6am and I didn’t want to wait till 2/3 to check in. I had also purchased breakfast for each of the days. Unfortunately we landed slightly late which meant we got to the hotel at 10.03. Breakfast had finished at 10. The hotel staff said no breakfast since it finished at 10. Thought that was a bit crappy. The following day I had an early start for Disney and asked if I could do breakfast at 6 or have like a little packed breakfast which most hotels do since we are missing the actual breakfast and that was a no aswell. Not ideal again since I had paid for breakfast. When we checked in we were told about an alarm training on the day we came in- that was an absolute nightmare as the intercoms went off for various announcements for the staff. That lasted an hour. Amenities at the counter were good

Great hotel with friendly staff, well located in Shinjuku. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was larger than most Japanese hotels with an excellent large bathtub. The only disappointment was the breakfast, which was very basic in the quality and quantity of the food on offer.
