The hotel was lovely but a few things were amiss during our stay: (1) The Moke was not working despite the ads saying we would have access to it; the bikes, touted as "first-come-first-serve", were actually reserved for another party so not available for our use on our first day there; and the lounge that is supposed to be open was off limits due to a conference. Given the promises about all these things and the price, we should certainly have been informed prior to our stay and/or compensated.

I rarely post reviews but this is warranted. Menhaden very nice upscale place but they need to address customer service, specifically the issue of a $35 amenity fee. We noticed on our invoice and inquired what it consists of. We were told it covers parking (parking lot was full- parked in street), WiFi (this is free in every hotel I’ve ever stayed in), and access to the galley (we were told at checkin this was complimentary). When we raised these issues we received a surprising amount of push back. Overall it’s a deceptive practice and the hotel should consider how it treats its guests. They eventually offered a $75 gift card in lieu of a credit, do not think we’ll return based on how they treated us.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The Staff was wonderful, the roof terrace was a lovely spot for a cocktail, and the galley is a nice touch. Those chocolate chip cookies in the evening were the best. Will definitely be returning.

From the friendly check in with Mario to the check out everything was top class .The private bar is a really special touch and Dan was a great bar tender. The roof top is very nice to relax on with a glass of wine and the fire pit lit. Rooms are comfortable and spotless. There is a galley on each floor where they have coffee water and soda free all day plus fresh croissants in the morning .Highly recommend this hotel

Beautiful hotel, with a B & B vibe. Good privacy. They impose a destination/ amenity fee scam, that is supposed to cover stuff that traditionally would be included in a hotel's advertised price, which makes the hotel very pricey. Our room had no water view, but instead over looked a busy downtown street that was an early morning access road to the ferry. Each floor has a snack station in a hallway alcove, loaded with "complementary" snacks, coffee/tea, yogurt, fruit, candy, and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Eat your fill: you pay for it in spades with the silly fees.

Our stay was AMAZING!! The Front Desk staff could not have been more helpful and friendly - they acted like their #1 priority was making sure we had everything we needed. There was a wonderful bar/community area where we could play table games, play vinyl records that were provided, have a drink - so comfortable and fun! It was also within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and not far from the Ferry to Shelter Island. We highly recommend this hotel!!

We had a wonderful stay in this ultra clean and ultra chic hotel. We had an emergency that required lots of printing, scanning, and notarizing which Mario the manager helped us with all day. He also arranged a great "oyster experience " with Founders Oyster Farm and a last minute late dinner reservation. The hotel is conveniently located for walking around Greenport. They have hot croissants, yogurt, coffee, juice early each morning on each floor. Then later, there are snacks and delicious hot cookies. Tea, coffee, cold drinks also. There is a large bar/hang out area where one can order a drink, or go across the street to the various delis and being a meal in. Also, a lovely coffee shop with all barista choices and charcuterie, cheese, snack.

Everything was great especially the staff who went beyond our expectations...from offering us champagne and my husband a great mocktail to cleaning the snow off our car! The place is so pretty and the bar has all fun games & all albums you can play. The king room was large, no bath though :( and it was a bit cold in there, they did try and fix it though. Breakfast and goodies available all day on our floor with sodas, water, coffee and cappuccinos :).

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Menhaden for my birthday, and it was truly an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff incredible. The entire property was spotless — especially our room, which was beautifully maintained and so comfortable. I had one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. The location is perfect too, just a short walk to everything in town. I couldn’t recommend The Menhaden more. 10/10 experience. Thank you for making my birthday so special!

I ordered the most expensive room, the king deluxe suite expecting there to be a small living area with a couch. It said slept three that’s why I booked a room. It was very expensive almost 700 and something dollars and basically it was just a king size bed after asking Felicia was extremely nice. She brought up a rollaway, but my son was already asleep in the closet with pillows that we had to put down and blankets.

This hotel is right out of a movie set! Fancy snacks, drinks and warm chocolate chip cookies during the day. Spacious room, awesome rooftop with gas fireplaces. Great location. Aidan could not have been more accommodating. He is the epitome of fine customer service and should manage his own hotel one day.

One of my top 5 most enjoyable stays at a hotel. Mario connected us with Steve from Founders Oysters for an amazing charter experience. Mario was so knowledgeable and took ownership of his job like it was his business. John was so great too - he kept us laughing as we changed our check out multiple times he was able to accommodate our work schedule with ease.

The best hotel experience ever. Mario, John and crew took amazing personal care of every detail. Champagne on arrival. Reservations for dinner. I even forgot my wallet and Mario offered to lend me cash. UNHEARD OF! Thank you guys for a fabulous stay!

Our stay was AMAZING!! The Front Desk staff could not have been more helpful and friendly - they acted like their #1 priority was making sure we had everything we needed. There was a wonderful bar/community area where we could play table games, play vinyl records that were provided, have a drink - so comfortable and fun! It was also within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and not far from the Ferry to Shelter Island. We highly recommend this hotel!!

We loved everything about our stay - the staff is unbelievably courteous, helpful and friendly, from the GM Mario who is hands on with an effortless 5-star service mentality all the way down. Every detail of the hotel is thoughtful and elevated in a warm and inviting way - the place is unbelievably charming and welcoming. From the lobby, bar, galleys, room, and rooftop deck - even the stairwell with plush deep blue carpet and skylight is a nice touch that didn’t go unnoticed. Being right in the heart of town, but an easy walk to the dock, was fantastic as Greenport has really grown into its own with nice shops and great restaurants. We can’t wait to return next year!

Loved our stay at the Menhaden! Everything was great especially the staff who went beyond our expectations...from offering us champagne and my husband a great mocktail to cleaning the snow off our car! The place is so pretty and the bar has all fun games & all albums you can play. The king room was large, no bath though :( and it was a bit cold in there, they did try and fix it though. Breakfast and goodies available all day on our floor with sodas, water, coffee and cappuccinos :).

We truly enjoyed our stay. The Staff was wonderful, the roof terrace was a lovely spot for a cocktail, and the galley is a nice touch. Those chocolate chip cookies in the evening were the best. Will definitely be returning.

From the friendly check in with Mario to the check out everything was top class .The private bar is a really special touch and Dan was a great bar tender. The roof top is very nice to relax on with a glass of wine and the fire pit lit. Rooms are comfortable and spotless. There is a galley on each floor where they have coffee water and soda free all day plus fresh croissants in the morning .Highly recommend this hotel

We had a wonderful stay in this ultra clean and ultra chic hotel. We had an emergency that required lots of printing, scanning, and notarizing which Mario the manager helped us with all day. He also arranged a great "oyster experience " with Founders Oyster Farm and a last minute late dinner reservation. The hotel is conveniently located for walking around Greenport. They have hot croissants, yogurt, coffee, juice early each morning on each floor. Then later, there are snacks and delicious hot cookies. Tea, coffee, cold drinks also. There is a large bar/hang out area where one can order a drink, or go across the street to the various delis and being a meal in. Also, a lovely coffee shop with all barista choices and charcuterie, cheese, snack.

The property was gorgeous…brand new. Great location to the center of town including the carousel, Aldo’s coffee shop, and great bars/restaurants. The staff went above and beyond beyond! The bar was great…excellent cocktails, prestigious service, and FUN games to play too. A must stay for anyone going to Greenport!

Kaylee, John and the rest of the staff were helpful and patient. We felt like we were home. My daughter and I will definitely be back here to stay. We took many pictures and videos and will tell everyone about our stay here. Having a Galley on each floor was helpful as we had everything we needed within reach. Two suggestions, maybe get a peep hole for the room doors and have a microwave in each Galley so we don’t have to ask staff to microwave anything. Other than that, we felt relaxed and staying here made our trip just perfect. Little touches such as warm breakfast croissants, the candy bar (we seriously ate so many jellybeans and m&m’s this trip lol), the game room/bar area, macaroons upon checkout….we never felt rushed or like we were a bother. Can’t say enough about our experience here. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
