I love the rustic charm of the place, which is but a short drive from Waterford, reasonably priced and has excellent WiFi in each room. The food is out of this world and perhaps the best thing of all is the friendly and helpful staff. No question or problem is too much for them to help you with! I look forward to my next visit with great anticipation!

The Garrandarragh doesn't look so great from the exterior unless you like pubs, but the rooms are great. I had a giant double room, with AC (not needed), big tv and peaceful.

The old inn’s rooms have been renovated to a very high standard. We were a bit worried as they didn’t spend any money on renovation of reception area. Didn’t matter. Staff were excellent. Great pub for dining below. Great surprise off the beaten path.

It was very unique to stay in the property that was built several hundred year ago. The room was spacious. The pub in the hotel was welcoming and the food was quality. Parking was easy and was easy to visit Kilkenny and Waterford.

The ladies working there are juggling a lot and still so friendly and welcoming. It had an elevator which was helpful as well as plenty of parking. Loved the heated bathroom floors and countryside views. The pub is great too.

This place was an absolutely wonderful find! Its location right off the motorway is incredibly convenient, and it’s a quick drive to Waterford. We were a family of four (with an infant) and were delighted to be allowed to check-in early as our room was ready. The room itself far exceeded my expectations; it was cleaner and newer than many dedicated hotels I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was spotless and modern, with excellent hot water and strong water pressure. Despite the presence of a bar downstairs, the soundproofing was superb—we couldn't hear any noise from the pub at all, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The staff were welcoming, and the food was very satisfying. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay and would happily choose to book this lodge again in the future!

Our room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony - was very pleasant. The property was nicely laid out but some parts looked like they hadn’t been attended to for quite awhile. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not able to get breakfast as the power in the town went out at 9 AM. We had to check out early. Other than that, our stay was quite nice.

Got the room with balcony. Room was good - albeit a strange smell, but balcony still had cigarettes from previous stay!. Overall building in poor condition. Food in bar was excellent, service from the girl doing both and bar service was super. My bigger issue is breakfast doesnt start until 9am. Wasnt aware of this before booking it, I may of missed it in the detail booking - paid for breakfast and skipped it due to having to be on the road for 8am.

If you want a rustic inn experience, you'll get one here. The hostess was extremely friendly and nice, but the facility is not well cared for, overall. It had a nice patio with the room, but it was so covered with fungus that it was a risk to walk on. Honestly, like trying to walk across ice. The room itself was clean, but walls and bathroom tiles have a lot of staining, and the hallways and other parts of the property are not cleaned or taken well care of. It was a somewhat what I expected, but I can't rate it much higher than a 3 star experience, even though I knew what I'd be getting.

We liked the little patio off our room. The bed and pillows were hard and thin. The bathroom did not have a fan, so everything was damp after a shower. The electronic key didn’t work so they had to give us an actual key for our room They did not have several things from the menu that we requested for breakfast. The dining room was charming and the food we did have for dinner and breakfast was good.

I really wanted to like this place. The Inn is very old, which I expected. The rooms were modernized, had a nice walk in shower and even had a heated bathroom floor. However, the mattress on one of our beds was so old and worn that you could feel the wires in it. When I rolled into my back it was like a hump had formed right where my back was. I went down to the desk. They offered to move us. asked the desk to give me another mattress as it was late, we had a huge amount of luggage and who knows what we would get. She agreed and changed it out. When the new mattress was put on the bed, she didn’t even put the comforter and bedspread on it until I asked. Upon laying down on the new (not new) mattress it was better but still not great. You could still feel some of the springs. The other bed had what felt like a new mattress on it. I eventually climbed into the other bed with my traveling companion. The next night my companion slept in the bed with the old mattress because he can sleep on almost anything. If you want to be sure that you get a decent mattress, don’t stay here!!!!!!!

We absolutely loved this hotel/inn. We picked it originally because it was originally built around 1600-1650 and thought it would be cool to stay here. Our room was completely updated with great AC, great balcony/deck, heated floors in the bathroom, comfortable bed, quiet, etc. We actually met the owner and he was extremely friendly and helpful. All the staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again.

This inn is certainly off the beaten path, but such a great place to stay for 2 nights. We were able to drive a short disntance to visit Kilkenny and Waterford while still staying in a small town vibe. The food was outstanding and the staff was very accomodating. Richard, Sarah, Megan and Ciara had outstanding hospitality and we would give this place 5 stars!

The Garrandarragh Inn was one of the best surprises we had during our 17 day visit to Ireland. The Inn is an historic building but our room was modern and very well appointed. My wife got turned around in the hallway and must have looked lost. The owner of the hotel escorted her to the right room and talked with us for 20 minutes. Could not have been nicer.

Construction work after 10 pm. Complained at 10:30 and it was stopped. After that listened to a motor starting on and off every 5 seconds. It’s now 1:30 am and it’s still going. Construction work after 10 pm. Complained at 10:30 and it was stopped. After that listened to a motor starting on and off every 5 seconds. It’s now 1:30 am and it’s still going. Booked this hotel with me working in the area... Explained i would be going out to work at 9pm and returning around 4am...was assured the back door would be left unlocked for me.. How wrong was i.. Ended up sleeping in my car unable to contact anyone.. Young girl who originally checked me in was so apologetic but was not offered a refund or even a complimentary drink... What hotel has to rely on someone remebering to leave the back door unlocked is just ridiculous... Food lovely though in the bar ..

A mixture of the old (dates back to the 1600s in parts) and new (modern and comfortable rooms) with excellent staff and good food. On site car parking is plentiful and secure. Handy base for exploring the local area.

The only issue we experienced was our inability to locate the Garrandarragh Inn on the cars Sat Nav. The premises was called The Rising Sun and there was a foot note in the booking saying this once located we could not fault it.

This place was an absolutely wonderful find! Its location right off the motorway is incredibly convenient, and it’s a quick drive to Waterford. We were a family of four (with an infant) and were delighted to be allowed to check-in early as our room was ready. The room itself far exceeded my expectations; it was cleaner and newer than many dedicated hotels I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was spotless and modern, with excellent hot water and strong water pressure. Despite the presence of a bar downstairs, the soundproofing was superb—we couldn't hear any noise from the pub at all, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The staff were welcoming, and the food was very satisfying. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay and would happily choose to book this lodge again in the future!

It was very unique to stay in the property that was built several hundred year ago. The room was spacious. The pub in the hotel was welcoming and the food was quality. Parking was easy and was easy to visit Kilkenny and Waterford.

It’s a fine place that’s not expensive, just a few minutes from Waterford and Kilkenny. Nicely upgraded and remodeled bathrooms. Attached to Rising Sun pub which is a hoot! All the people are very nice. Nice solid place to stay, but not luxurious.

Charming little place with alot of Irish character. Only drawback is it's kind of in the middle of no where. Staff was very nice, and breakfast was very good (and reasonable) at their restaurant. Nice little pub as well.

We loved it. The rooms were above a very old pub, restaurant (which was great) but the room was totally redone and quite modern with a pricste balcony overlooking fields. We stayed 2 nights and traveled to various sites nearby. The restaurant had the best Irish Brekfast we had during our stay.

Not easy to find. Not quite as advertised. Staff welcoming. Room comfortable but people in adjoining rooms can be heard and there was no tv available. Food and drink lovely but quite expensive. Very late breakfast start time of 9am meant we could not use on our last day.

The girl that checked us in was amazing. She was the only one running the show. She told us which doors to go through in the morning for breakfast but to our surprise when we tried the next morning everything was dark and locked up. We didn't receive our breakfast.

Our room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony - was very pleasant. The property was nicely laid out but some parts looked like they hadn’t been attended to for quite awhile. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not able to get breakfast as the power in the town went out at 9 AM. We had to check out early. Other than that, our stay was quite nice.

We liked the little patio off our room. The bed and pillows were hard and thin. The bathroom did not have a fan, so everything was damp after a shower. The electronic key didn’t work so they had to give us an actual key for our room They did not have several things from the menu that we requested for breakfast. The dining room was charming and the food we did have for dinner and breakfast was good.

Amazing stay! Everything you think of when thinking about visiting the Irish Countryside. Staff was amazing - especially Chloe who helped us check-in and at the restaurant and pub. The food was incredible and the pub was quintessential Irish. Loved it!

This is a super cute inn that has great updated rooms. Love the AC and is why we booked it! However, the bed was so thin, bouncy, noisy, and very uncomfortable. The bathroom, shower, and overall room was great. But given the bed, we would not stay here again unless the mattress were replaced. The pillows were also very thin and provided very little support.

Out of all my hotels in Ireland I stayed at this was the only one with ac!!! Staff were lovely and kind! The view on the balcony was amazing! Would recommend staying here!!
