We enjoyed our stay at the Comfort Inn. It was clean, lots of good amenities, decent internet, helpful staff. The only issue we had was the pool. We booked this hotel specifically because it had an indoor pool and we booked with other family with the intent of having our kids play together and relax. However, the pool was out of commission during our stay. This isn’t the first time we’ve stayed there and the pool has been unavailable. Given the unreliability of this, and the fact that a pool is undoubtedly factored into the rents price, we will look elsewhere the next time we stay if a pool is what we are looking for. If a pool isn’t what we need though then absolutely we’ll consider it.

This property isn't an excellent condition and location. You can pretty much walk to anything you might need in town. Does Tim Hortons around the corner? The only downside for us was that the pool was closed, but from what I understand it was an incident that was beyond their control. We were compensated for the loss of the pool and we're very happy with our stay. Thank you

We stay at the Comfort Inn whenever we visit family in Goderich and overall it’s a great place to stay but this time the pool “ was closed for maintenance “‘although we never saw anyone actually doing anything and it still seems so strange that the rooms don’t have opening windows with the great fresh air outside

Positives: -Convenient location -Convenient parking -Easy check-in and check-out -Staff was very pleasant and considerate -Room was impecably clean -Bathroom was well-lit and easy to get ready in with large counter space -Lovely breakfast provided with lots of options. Nice clean and bright dining area. Negatives: -The pool was unexpectedly closed for repairs which was a big disappointment for my kids -The halls had a bit of a strange smell (almost like stale cigarettes) and carpets/walls seemed old and in need of a refresh. Made us a bit hesitant to enter the room for the first time, but thankfully the room was very clean and tidy. -Definitely recommend bringing your own soap (especially if you are checked in as a family) as only 1 tiny bar provided. -Room was a little bit loud early in the morning; could hear traffic passing by. Overall happy with the stay

The noise level from the traffic outside was so frustrating. You think a new hotel would have better sound barriers. The air-conditioning unit was so loud. It was like something was caught in it. It rattled constantly.. Mold in the bathtub was a great tirn off. The breakfasts room was dirty. Tables and floor.

Hot breakfast included a good variety of items. Enjoyed the pool. Staff at the front and in the breakfast area were busy but friendly and welcoming. Bathroom had no towel racks which made hanging towels and swimsuits a bit tricky. Overall a comfortable stay at a great location.

Clean and comfortable place to stay with a decent breakfast. Unfortunately, we didn't realize a minor league hockey team was also staying at our hotel Family Day weekend - on the 4th floor, the same floor as us. The first afternoon there was a hockey game in the hallway. But it was in the evenings that it was most noisy - until about 10:15 or so. Lots of running up and down the hall, yelling and doors slamming. To the parents: Please spare a thought for other hotel guests and rein in your kids a bit. To the hotel: How about installing better soundproofing? Or give hockey families their own floor. For us: Travel with better ear plugs, and check with hotel re local hockey tournaments and stay elsewhere if possible.

The Comfort Inn located in Goderich Ont The Prettiest Town in Canada could do with a Modern Refresh. When entering the lobby strong smell of chemicals no doubt chlorine from the pool. Rooms dark & gloomy. Recommend whenever possible air out the room b4 guest arrives. Our room was musty/damp smelling. It was like walking into an old hotel room. Air conditioner should be removed by bedside & relocated. It was noisy kicked on off all night. Overall it was an ok stay. Just time for a modern refresh. Staff friendly Good breakfast

This hotel is a perfect base for exploring Lake Huron. We drove south to Grand Bend one day and north to Sauble Beach the next, both easy drives. The hotel is spotless, all employees we came into contact with were so friendly and helpful, included breakfast was very good and our bed very comfortable!

There were a number of concerns we had about the property The A/C unit was very noisy and control did not function properly The vending machine for drinks was on the 3 rd floor BUT vending machine for snacks was on the 4th floor. A little planning and common sense would have them next to each other on the same floor!!! Because we booked using a third party - Expedia— we felt like we were treated like 2nd class citizens. My husband is handicapped and I had to run some errands before check out at 11am. I asked if my husband could stay in the room until noon - 1 hour. Response was no but he could wait for me in the reception area. While he sat in reception area for the one hour he noted a number of customers checking out right up til noon when I picked him up. They obviously were extended the courtesy of a late check out Needless to say that we will not be staying there again

The gentleman at the front desk was more than helpful, i was on crutches and needed ice. He brought me plenty to my room. The kitchen staff for the continental breakfast was also super helpful as they served me. I would recommend there hospitality as being top notch

Hotel is very comfortable. Beds and pillows quite nice; good location; decent breakfast. Was very disappointed to find the pool was closed. We had only booked the hotel about 48 hrs before arriving, and had chosen based on the pool. Front desk agent unhelpful and was rather rude about us having booked through a site other than their own. His main suggestion seemed to be that we didn’t need to stay here. Reality is, if your company offers a much cheaper price through third-party booking, you shouldn’t expect people to choose a higher price on your own website. I shouldn’t experience a lesser quality of service. Apart from the initial disappointment, a pleasant stay. All other hotel staff were friendly.

The checking staff was less than professional. No maps of the downtown area. Desk left without staff as staff was outside drinking coffee and smoking. Breakfast was terrible. Warming oven with eggs, sausage etc wasn’t plugged in. Coffee terrible. Tables dirty.

I have stayed be here before and previously left a positive review. I would add this time that for a hotel in this price range the bed in our room, 320, or fantastic and supportive. On a far more important note, my wife was injured nearby on our last night here (had nothing to do with the hotel). She hit her face and was taken to hospital by ambulance for stitches, and by the time we returned to the hotel it was after 4am. Both hotel staff with whom I dealt, the daytime supervisor whose name I think was Graham, and the night shift woman, whose name I wish I had gotten (she has pink hair) wee compassionate and understanding. They let us stay past the normal "late checkout." Going through something like this while far from home was a difficult experience and the staff here really stepped up. Thanks to both of them!

The hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the indoor pool. The only downside was the very rude supervisor named Craig. He was arrogant and dismissive, but the rest of the staff were wonderful.

Nice hotel.. but you could hear the people bang around on the floor above us.. Pool was very Cold... felt like the lake would have been the same temperature... They need to work on their breakfast... eggs were like rubber and sausage was just gross.. Please put garbage cans out side..

Broken toilet roll holder, no place to hang a towel, no exhaust fan in bathroom. Enjoyed complimentary breakfast but cheese omelet and sausage EVERY DAY. Coule have offered a little more variety but overall ok. The pool was great.
