Chateau de la Villedubois

Le Château de la Villedubois is a very special place! It is not a hotel… but really, it’s so much more. The owners are lovely, friendly and very helpful. They are custodians of a rich history and have renovated their family home with integrity and wonderful taste! You will need your car to get around. It is very private and the rooms are truly spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast offered was perfect. There are quite a few very good restaurants within a 10 mns drive on the outskirts of Rennes. My wife, our 16 months old daughter and I, had a truly great experience. It was like stepping back in time and it allowed us to breath for a couple of days. I will recommend Le Chateau de la Villedubois to any friend on a road trip to Western France or Brittany specifically.

A beautiful family run small château set in park like gardens. We had a large bedroom overlooking the gardens. Throughout the château was beautifully furnished and the service was attentive and friendly. Close to Rennes and also an ideal location for day excursions to Le Mont Saint Michel or Angers and many other noteworthy places.

Staying here is both unique and beautiful. I don’t feel as though I’m in a hotel. I feel like a welcomed guest on the estate of French royalty. The very large bedrooms are lovely. If you are traveling in the area, treat yourself to stay here. You will feel as though you’ve stepped back in time to another era. An era designed for a Hollywood movie.
