A little bit tricky to find car park at night, then the hotel entry but despite that, the location was awesome and the room was really nice. One thing I noticed, which was really good, the mini bar had a really nice selection of nice wine, whiskey, cheese and lavish etc and were priced really well (not double or triple like most places). We would definitely recommend and come back again.

Moss Hotel is beautiful, very well decorated both in rooms and in common areas. Rooms are large and comfortable. Location is convenient for restaurants, shopping, and attractions. Overnight street parking is abundant, but you might have troubles during business hours. My only complaint is that the doors on the bathroom do not offer much privacy.

The Moss Hotel is well located in downtown Hobart, there are 2 buildings so check your booking to check that you can check into the correct one! The buildings are only a 5 minute walk between each other anyhow. The hotel has been recently renovated and is very well kept, no expense has been spared on the interior fittings, the room was well equipped with high end offerings (BOSE wireless speaker box was a nice touch). The bathroom had heated flooring which was a useful with the weather. High end Australian toiletries in the bathroom and a well stocked mini bar with a kettle and Nespresso type machine. Parking at the hotel is limited but can be reserved in advance, you also can park on the street near the hotel for free between 6pm and 8am, obviously check parking restrictions for the specific bay you choose.

Moss is a great hotel located in the heart of Salamanca, close to the city, waterfront and Battery Point. The hotel was really neat and tidy, top quality amenities and high quality mini-bar at street prices. The only thing it misses is a room service, but you are less than 100 metres away from some of the best spots to grab a bite and a drink in Hobart. The bed was really comfy, the details were amazing and I loved arriving in the hotel to a fresh Tasmanian apple. Highly recommend.

Highly impressive property - will stay here again the next time I visit Hobart. All the staff were lovely. Only issue I had was that the TV did not have reception and it was the last weekend of the Paris Olympics! The TV also did not have Chromecast. If these were addressed it would’ve been the perfect stay. Close to perfection nonetheless.

We loved the boutique vibe of the hotel with its glimpses of indoor greenery. The rooms were spacious, ambience and mood lighting of the hotel was very inviting. The cleaners did a brilliant job of the room daily, especially the shower (I’d love their tips and secret on how they keep the shower screens spotless) The reception staff were always around and when We arrived very late at night, there were clear instructions on how to check in without any hassle. Madhu was particularly helpful when we looked into hiring a car. The location was brilliant and convenient and although there were some comments and reviews regarding street noise, this wasn’t the case for us. Would definitely stay here again, but not suitable for young kids/families.

excellent hotel right in the heart of hobart. the service was impeccable, but i cant really say the same for the pod at number 25 as the room was not only dusty but also the noise from the front of the hotel woke me after a long delayed flight. i have stayed at other hotel/resorts were they had notified patrons prior to booking at a discounted price which is only fair...the hotel staff member was sympathetic to the noise though and offered another room at their other hotel which was very clean and had no dust anywhere in the room or works. i really hope my review is not taken the wrong way and look forward to booking again

This is not a great hotel. No room service no restaurant within hotel-disappointing. Cockroaches coming out of drainage. Upon check in a girl with not a huge ability in English language tried to answer our questions without success. Upon check out the guy couldn’t even get the outstanding amount correct so they charged our credit card without our permission for a further amount-surely their computer system should have told him what was outstanding when we wanted to pay our bill??

Very cool hotel in a great location. Walking distance to tons of restaurants and shops, and very close to the harbor where all the tours leave from. The rooms are spacious and funky. Only complaint is it is very dark. Our room had an exterior window (some just have a window onto a moss wall) but was still quite dim all the time. Still would definitely stay there again

Nice place, very well located near the harbor. The room was very large, but very dark. Walls and ceilings are dark green with minimal lighting. There was a large window that looked out on a very narrow space to the next building. No natural light came into the room. The hotel staff say they created a cozy environment. For me it was more like a hole with no light.

Absolutely fantastic service and treatment- especially by Sheila who went out of her way to look after us and give us the best room. Rooms were amazing. Loved the charm etc. The only issue was we didn’t realise the Winter Feast was on (not something we liked) and the music was blaring every night until after midnight… will be sure to check what’s on the dates next time.

The lovely lady at check-in was amazing and you could tell she was really proud of the hotel. Room was large and had a lovely mix of historic charm and modern convenience. Location was fantastic being able to step out straight onto Salamanca Markets
