Hotel staff were very nice & spoke good English. The hotel certainly could’ve been a bit cleaner. The carpets in the hallways were visibly stained. The carpet in the elevators was even worse. (Not sure why they went with carpet in the elevator to begin with, should prob just get rid of that.) The elevators are incredibly slow, and there are only 3 that go up to the higher floors, of which there are 13 floors total. Also, the elevators always stops on the 2nd floor for some reason while going up and down, even when not requested to that floor. You’ll often end up waiting a long time for the elevators. I would’ve just taken the stairs had I not been on the 11th floor. My room was fairly clean, however my towels had a weird, almost wet dog smell to them & the air conditioner fan kind of smelled like pee. A lot of people in other reviews complained about the lack of space. For me as a solo traveler, I felt I had enough room. But I could see how a couple or a family staying in a room would get cramped. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. This hotel was a cheaper option, and I feel it showed. It’s a shame because the vibe of the hotel is pretty cool. It has an anime-inspired look with free to read manga in the lobby which was pretty neat.

Great place to stay. Close to everything in Asakusa. Room was clean and well appointed. Big bed and big shower (a rarity in Tokyo). Free (great tasting) freshly ground coffee available was a great touch, as was the pastries for breakfast. Luggage storage and laundry machines were available and worked perfectly. Top marks in every category.

Just a remarkable well thought out place, that caters for all your travel needs. From compact but comfy rooms and top shower to USB plugs, helpful staff , great storage room for bags when one has a late flight . Perfect! Well designed

Great location!! Traveling from the US, it was very close to Sensoji temple as well as a ton of other shops and food spots! 15 or so minutes from the Asakusa subway line, 2 minutes from Lawson's and 6 minutes from 7-11, all walking distance. They do cleaning every 3 days, but change the trash and towels every day. We appreciated the washer and dryer on the 2nd floor, detergent is included in the wash! Washing 300 yen and Dry is 100 yen for every 30 minutes. We stayed in the room with 2 twin beds for 2 people, 1 suitcase and 1 backpack each and the luggage storage at the bottom of the bed was enough room for us. Definitely recommend this hotel, the shower pressure was amazing! They also offer shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Service was excellent, we would stay here again.

It's a modern hotel, and very affordable. The room type I stayed in had no fridge, so that's something you'll have to work your way around. There's always a lot of people coming and going from the hotel, or using the lobby (mostly tourists), so it can get quite lively.

The only criticism I have is that the Check-in machines and desk are hidden and difficult to find for first time visitors. When I arrived I took the elevators up to the 2nd floor and was met with a confusing bus terminal experience. When I left the elevators I had no idea where to go to check-in. There was no sign, no arrows, nothing. All I saw was a room full of a ton of people with their luggage and a bunch of coffee machines and it took me a minute or two of absolute confusion to find the check-in machines and desk tucked away in the far left hand corner of the room. This is terribly confusing for first time visitors and although you may not be able to move the checkin desks closer to the elevators, it would be intelligent to put large arrows on the floor or hand a giant sign from the room showing someone who has never been there before where they need to go in order to check-in. This is my only major criticism but its a big one. I almost walked out and went to another hotel because your lobby is so poorly organized.

La habitación bastante sucia, el espacio es súper pequeño me sentía como en el armario de mi casa. El colchón orinado, la cubierta de la cama nada limpia, la cobija ni siquiera era blanca era beige de lo sucia que estaba. No pude dormir la ventana dejaba pasar aire y hacía un ruido extraño como si hubiera un mosquito en la habitación, mi peor experiencia en un hotel, de verdad la peor.

The staff at this hotel are very nice, and super helpful! The rooms are small but they are so well laid out and have space for luggage that it doesn’t feel small. The hotel was VERY clean, and the common area was great. I would stay here again. Thank you for making our stay so nice!

In our experience, it was very bad, they gave us the room with dirty sheets, a bad smell from the carpet and in general the room had a bad smell, when we were sleeping we felt fleas or some animal that were crawling on our bodies, we complained and they changed the sheets but they only cleaned the room once in 4 days that we were staying. The only good thing about the hotel is the location and that it is very pretty on the outside and the decoration of the spaces and the rooms but the dirtiness of the carpets and the beds and the lobby is tremendous.

Great hotel and very unique. I would stay again for sure! Highly recommend the sushi place across the road! Only downside was our carpet was heavily stained. They are working on this issue. But I wish we would have known ahead. Even an apology. It’s not the hotel’s fault. Housekeeping did make us feel well taken care of. Thanks team!

Fint værelse, men puderne og madrassen var ikke det bedste. Værelset er lille, men det vidste vi og gør prisen bedre, så ikke et problem. Ville give topkarakter for samlet oplevelse hvis puden og madrassen ikke var så hård. Der var lidt gratis morgenmad, hvilket var en mega god overraskelse.
Fint værelse, men puderne og madrassen var ikke det bedste. Værelset er lille, men det vidste vi og gør prisen bedre, så ikke et problem. Ville give topkarakter for samlet oplevelse hvis puden og madrassen ikke var så hård. Der var lidt gratis morgenmad, hvilket var en mega god overraskelse.

The rooms… well, let’s just say if you’re even mildly claustrophobic, this place will test your character development. They’re tiny. Like “don’t breathe too deeply” tiny. The beds were comfortable enough, but they had commitment issues and kept sliding away from each other. Romantic. The bathroom followed the same theme: compact to the point of comedy, but the shower was a beast. Powerful, hot, and honestly one of the best parts of the stay. Staff were super friendly and genuinely helpful, which definitely softened the edges of the sardine-can living situation. Overall: a solid choice for 3–4 days max. Great for convenience, less great if you plan on actually spending time in the room without bumping into furniture, walls, or each other.

We loved staying in Asakusa. Was pleasantly surprised with the area. Hotel is just outside of the main area so easy to walk to and from everything. The room is small like everywhere. They do their best to make it roomy. If you are older it's probably not a place to stay. Crawl into bed from bottom of bed area. There is no way to get to side of bed to crawl in. I'm getting to age where my knees are not as good as they once were and I'm not as agile. This was only drawback to the room. I would stay there again as long as I felt like I could get in and out of bed without much issue.

The position of the beds requires you to crawl from the foot of the bed to sleep. The hotel is conveniently located near many restaurants and shops. Several 7-Elevens, Familymarts, and Lawsons' are located nearby. Buses and trains are nearby. Word of advice; make sure you are rooming with someone you really like as the room is small and you'll be in each others' faces.

The room is so small that you can barely open your luggage. The bed is ok but the pillow is not comfy. Poor window seal, can’t sleep thought the night with the sound from the wind and apparently other guests complained about the same window issue. They only clean your room once every 5 days. Stains on bed sheet and many more on carpet. Couple staff were rude but most are nice and friendly. The location is quite far from subway. It was way overpriced for the quality of the hotel. I would not recommended this place.

Hotel Tavinos is in a great location in the Asakusa area. Our room was super basic and pretty small - would suggest choosing a room that is bigger if you are not traveling as a couple or family member that doesn't mind sleeping basically on top of each other. Small room has luggage space under beds, useful, but means lots of dragging out your bag opening, closing, etc. but for the price it was fine. The manga theme is a fun addition. Check in and check out were extremely easy. Recommend for a short time or if you get a larger room than we did.

Was a great stay with a very convenient location for access to Sensoji temple! Staff were very attentive, only wish the rooms had a fridge built in.

The room was very small with no window. But that was ok. It was spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. And when in the room you couldn't hear a thing. Huge TV. Could get CNN on it, the only English language. Would recommend it & will stay there again when I return. The limousine bus stops at the Asakusa view hotel, just one block away. Really handy getting from Narita airport. No lugging cases around train stations.

The hotel is very clean and quiet. You do self check-in and check-out but there is staff if you need help. Close to big shopping stores like Don Quijote Uniqlo and GU. Food and bars are just a block away. Tenples and subway are walking distance. Great experience

The staff at this hotel are very nice, and super helpful! The rooms are small but they are so well laid out and have space for luggage that it doesn’t feel small. The hotel was VERY clean, and the common area was great. I would stay here again. Thank you for making our stay so nice!

The only criticism I have is that the Check-in machines and desk are hidden and difficult to find for first time visitors. When I arrived I took the elevators up to the 2nd floor and was met with a confusing bus terminal experience. When I left the elevators I had no idea where to go to check-in. There was no sign, no arrows, nothing. All I saw was a room full of a ton of people with their luggage and a bunch of coffee machines and it took me a minute or two of absolute confusion to find the check-in machines and desk tucked away in the far left hand corner of the room. This is terribly confusing for first time visitors and although you may not be able to move the checkin desks closer to the elevators, it would be intelligent to put large arrows on the floor or hand a giant sign from the room showing someone who has never been there before where they need to go in order to check-in. This is my only major criticism but its a big one. I almost walked out and went to another hotel because your lobby is so poorly organized.

Great property considering the price. Room was a little cramped, but considering that I was literally only at there to shower, sleep, get ready and leave, return and repeat it was fine. The communal space at reception and luggage storage was great, and I really appreciated the amenities. I also enjoyed the "manga" theming throughout the property. Unfortunately the other common spaces, such as the lobby, elevators and hallways were looking rather worn and dirty (stains on the carpets, random trash other guests had dropped/left outside their rooms), made the space a little less appealing, especially considering the properties age. My interactions with the staff were mixed, from mediocre (the non Japanese/South Asian? staff at front desk, who seemed less than interested to help) to the others who were wonderful and full of suggestions/recommendations and willingness to assist.

Amazing and superb location, the convenience can't be beat - this hotel is located right in the heart of Asakusa, right next to subway station, shops and the Sensoji Temple. Very small and tight rooms but clean and convenient with all the basic amenities. Staff is very helpful always.

Great place to stay. Close to everything in Asakusa. Room was clean and well appointed. Big bed and big shower (a rarity in Tokyo). Free (great tasting) freshly ground coffee available was a great touch, as was the pastries for breakfast. Luggage storage and laundry machines were available and worked perfectly. Top marks in every category.

Hotel Tavinos in Asakusa sits in the kind of perfect location that almost makes you forget you’re basically sleeping inside a shoebox. You can walk to everything: temples, food, trains, and whatever else you feel like cramming into your Tokyo days. The rooms… well, let’s just say if you’re even mildly claustrophobic, this place will test your character development. They’re tiny. Like “don’t breathe too deeply” tiny. The beds were comfortable enough, but they had commitment issues and kept sliding away from each other. Romantic. The bathroom followed the same theme: compact to the point of comedy, but the shower was a beast. Powerful, hot, and honestly one of the best parts of the stay. Staff were super friendly and genuinely helpful, which definitely softened the edges of the sardine-can living situation. Overall: a solid choice for 3–4 days max. Great for convenience, less great if you plan on actually spending time in the room without bumping into furniture, walls, or each other.

I love hotel Tavinos. It’s located in the center of Asakusa. It’s behind Sensoji temple. There’s a Lawson in the corner and cross the Main Street is the life supermarket where we bought our bentos lunch and dinner. I’m a minimalist so I spent my vacation spending time around and spending money in shopping and foods. There’s free coffee and teas in the lobby. The only thing I don’t like is this hotel is very popular with tourists. Always packed 😅other than that, my one week vacation is exceptional fun and cheap. Thank you very much to all friendly and English speaking staffs. I will see you again.

Everything was great! About 12 mins walk to the closest subway station which I supposed in Asia standard it’s “far” but we were good with it! Love that it’s v close to where the airport limousine bus drops off / pick up. That’s a bonus. Many good ramen places and restaurants around the hotel and super close to a 24 hour Don Quijote :)

It is near Sensoji Temple, Nakamise Street and other shopping centers. The taxi ride to Ueno- Ameyoko and Okamachi shopping centers was not too expensive. Their luggage storage was very nice. Very near convenience stores. It is near the train station-Asakusa Tsukaba) Express train, you have to walk further for Asakusa station. Free croissants, small pastries and coffee/tea for breakfast. The room and the bath was very small. If there is bigger space option during my reservation, it would be better.

Super easy check-in with an amazingly anime decorated lobby. Small breakfast every day was ok, and tea/coffee all day was a nice touch, bedroom was super clean and the shower was the best I could have asked for. 10/10 recommend.

Location was great. Right near a main temple and subway/teain access. Lots of nearby rwstaurants and attactions. Rooms were small but that was to be expected. Staff did a good job cleaning. Breakfast was a bit weak but there was always coffee and tea.

I do like the graphic design / comic theme touch to this place. It’s like APA hotel but for the creative type. Rooms are nice and I don’t mind it being small. Bathroom is surprisingly larger than I thought. Great shower, though I wish they had a bath tub. I like the main lobby where I can setup my laptop and do work. Plenty of power plugs. Free morning croissants (until 20am) and free coffee all day is a very welcome bonus! 🥐☕️ Also there’s a large grocery store (Life) just a block away should you want to eat in! I certainly tool advantage of this. Wifi is very fast here for my usages!

The Hotel is in the heart of Asakusa within walking distance of temples, street food and shopping. If you don’t mind a tiny room it’s a good value. The room is the size of a US bathroom and the bath is smaller than our hall closet. Again if you are only sleeping there it’s a good deal and great view. The breakfast unlimited small buns and hot coffee. Enjoy Asakusa!

The design in pictures was exactly how the hotel looked. Pretty cool looking hotel. Great location--on quiet street, near the shotengai (shopping street), and food options close by but many close earlier than i expected for Japan. But conbini (convenience store) really close, walkable distance; if all else fails, go to conbini which is 24/7. But room was actually a bit bigger than some other hotels and okay for solo traveller. But as with many Japan hotels, it was small (compared to U.S. ones) but I was able to fully open my suitcase on the floor. The bed took a lot of the space but I wanted a bigger bed. Some stains on carpet, like someone spilled coffee, but generally clean. Breakfast, at least for me, was lackluster--just small pieces of 3 tyoes of bread but refillable coffee. But would recommend this place.
