The Celecton is a nice, standard Japanese hotel. The rooms are small, but they are practical, very clean and amenities are good. If you want a hotel that is close to the Castle then this is a good one, but it is 10-15 minutes walk to the train station, restaurants, and the other attractions in Matsumoto. My room was facing the Castle but directly above a busy road, so it was quite noisy.

We loved this hotel. It’s amazingly close to the castle and within walking distance of a delicious Hoto Moto and 711. It’s clean, quiet, we loved the bathroom, and the AC was freezing cold. When we needed help the front desk was amazing and helped with anything we needed. We will be back!

The staff was really great and helped me deal with a situation created by both another hotel and hotels.com so I am really grateful for that. The free meal at night is really a great add on, and delicious. The room was clean, big, with everything you need and the window could open which was great considering the nights were cool enough to get some fresh air. Location is perfect as well, right next to the castle. They have pyjamas from S to XL. Didn't try the communal bath but I liked that there is a code for women. There is a 7 Eleven nearby.

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was super friendly. They don’t allow tattooed people to use the onsen unless you cover them, but the girl at the reception, who was super nice, help me putting the tape on my tattoos and I was able to use the onsen. Good position, close to the Matsumoto Castle and 10 minutes walk from the station. Recommended!
