Business Hotel Maier

​Positives I booked a junior suite, which was a spacious corner room with windows on three sides. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was large, and the kitchen amenities included a fridge, oven, cooktop, sink, and dishwasher. Communication by phone was smooth, though the hotel app was mediocre. ​Parking is secure in a locked underground garage accessed by keycard. The same floor features a decent gym, a laundry area with washing machines and detergent, and clothes drying racks available to borrow. For a one-night stay or a weekday trip, this setup works well for most guests. ​Negatives Check-in requires an outdated touchscreen kiosk with a poor user interface. It demands excessive manual data entry for every guest in the room. The system failed during check-in, though staff activated my keycard over the phone after I called. ​Cleanliness was deficient. Dust covered most surfaces, and the entire space needed a thorough deep clean. The hotel appears to rely on a single female staff member for all cleaning duties. We saw her working morning, afternoon, and evening every day of our stay, which is clearly an unmanageable workload for one person. The bathroom had an unpleasant odor. Staff offered a room change if another became available, but without an equivalent suite in stock, we declined, bought our own cleaning supplies, and cleaned it ourselves. ​The suite became extremely hot, and the provided fan was coated in heavy dust. Everything nice except for: Smelling cigarette ashtray full of butts at the balkony. No shielding against the sun and heat, non-functional exterior shading, the temperature increased a lot afternoon and opening windows cannot help. Missing placemats on the table, which I had last stay. Only 2 hangers in double room. Dangerous showering in bathtube, slipery, better to book the room with the shower only instead of tube, it means, do not book superior double room. There's an oven, but no baking sheet, for making pizza, for example.

Good hotel

There is no check in counter / only self-check in for this hotel (similar to other listings where it explicitly states this fact). The rooms are nice and pretty generous, the vending machines are well stocked, the cleaning staff is very friendly and helpful. The gym is very well equipped. Unfortunately, the WiFi when I was there was not worth the aggravation. For a business hotel, that is clearly an issue.
