Hotel Hofwirt was an excellent choice and I would recommend it highly. As a first time solo traveller, I wanted to stay somewhere I felt safe and where the environment was clean, comfortable and not too big or overwhelming. The staff were welcoming, efficient and friendly. The accommodation was modern, minimal and clean. I brought my own travel kettle but the hotel does have a wonderfully relaxing communal area where you can make tea and coffee or buy a snack from a vending machine. It even has a microwave which you can use and charging points near the sofas. Outside is a huge patio area. Everywhere was clean and looked after. Breakfast was nice but get there early if you want the eggs or porridge to stay hot. The only draw back for me was the comfort of the bed - the mattress seemed quite hard, so I ended up sleeping on one of the single duvet covers which worked well. Also the shower wasn't very powerful and the way it was positioned made it difficult to negotiate. It didn't ruin my stay though because everything else was so great. Even though I was on the road side of the hotel, it wasn't noisy (unless you opened a window). I enjoyed hearing the distant bells from St Sebastian's. The location of the hotel is very good... close to shops, cafés and restaurants. Mirabell Gardens was a 10 min walk turning right out of the hotel. Straight on out of the hotel would bring you to the river and across to old town, 10 min walk. I put my case into storage after checkout - no charge.

Sehr gute Lage direkt neben der Fußgängerzone und Anschluss an Öffis. Wir hatten das oberste Stockwerk mit Balkon Richtung Straße und war kein Lärmproblem. Alles war sehr sauber und angenehm mit Gratiskaffee n der Lounge. Den Sternen entsprechend ein Hotel mit sehr guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Die Terrasse im Innenhof ist ebenfalls ein Plus. Sehr gutes Frühstück in moderner,nüchtener AtmosphäreTeuer ist die Garage aber überall so in Salzburg.

This hotel had some of the best spread for breakfast: fresh, delicious, and different options for various preferences. They also had coffee and tea available all day everyday. The lounge and garden were well maintained and I spent hours just relaxing there after a long day outside. Much love and appreciation to the staff!

The best location that you will ever find in town. The BLVD all the way down to the river starts just across the st. And if the under garage is full, you will get a discount ticket for the famous "inside the mountain" multilevel garage across the street. Again, this is a gem place and the bfast was pretty good. The patio, another great touch.

Breakfast was really good. In a quiet part of town but still very walkable. The staff was not too friendly. No toiletries. No wash rags. The sink was not very clean. They put the glasses directly on the nasty counter without a paper cover that most hotels use, no way I would drink out of it. I stayed here 6 nights in two different rooms. One room had a decent size bathroom. The other had a tiny bathroom. I would stay here again.

The hotel was very central, within easy walking distance of many great eateries & bars. It was extremely clean & the staff very pleasant. In my opinion It deserved more than a 3* rating. Rooms were bright, modern and very comfortable.

Very clean and modern. Like any European hotel in the heart of the old city, the spaces are small, but everything is new and modern and clean. The beds were comfortable. The shower water pressure and temperature were excellent. The bathroom was small but modern and clean and functional. Breakfast was included from 6:00-10:00 AM. The food was excellent with lots of varieties. The location is excellent. It is on walking distance from the train station and right at the start of the Main Street of Alstadt (Old Town). Therefore, most attractions are accessible by walking.

I was very disappointed in our stay. The room we were given had a toilet smeared with feces, and the entire room stank horribly. Beds were not comfortable. The sheets looked dirty with lint and hair on them. The room felt dirty and was very hot. The thermostat could not be turned below 75°F. The room was very barren, with a quality that seemed more suited to a cheap hostel, than a hotel. If we had not arrived so late in the day, I would have left for another hotel. In its favor, the hotel is very close to the Salzburg city center, and very walkable, while providing accessible parking, which was nice as we had a rental car. After seeing the state of the room, we opted to skip the complementary breakfast, so I cannot comment on the quality of that.

Freundliches Personal. Sauberes, schlicht aber modern ausgestattetes Zimmer. Trotz der Lage zur gut befahrenen Straße ein sehr ruhiges Zimmer dank des schallisolierten Fensters. Frühstücksbuffet bietet eine große Auswahl. Vom Müsli über Wurst und Käse, verschiedene Brötchen, Brot, Eier, Säfte, frisches Obst usw. usw. Sehr zu empfehlen. Würde jederzeit wieder dieses Hotel wählen!!

Fint sentralt hotell. Ligger et steinkast fra gamlebyen. God frokost. Ok rom. En negativ opplevelse er at hotellet har låst temperaturen på aircondition. Den kan kun stilles mellom 21 og 24 grader! Jeg klaget fordi de averterer med at det er aircondition på rommet. Da er det ønskelig å kunne stille den selv! Men alt i alt er flott hotell.

Price is still high for bare bones accommodations. Mattress extremely soft and uncomfortable. Front desk closes at 10pm. No fridge, no tissues, no shampoo (only all purpose soap). Helpful staff.

my rating is excelent because overall we had good nights sleep in a well air conditioned room.However we requested a quite room,we were put in a room 2 floors above the entrance,we had 24h notice of roadworks day & night out side our window,the manager found a much superior room for the night ,so resolved to our satisfaction.we would recomend paying the extra for a balcony room garden facing

Everything about the hotel was wonderful. The staff was friendly, polite and explained everything the hotel had to offer. The room and bathroom were clean. There was no noise. Upon checking in they explained that Salzburg has a city pass if we were interested in it. The hotel also provided (no charge) city bus pass. The breakfast (included) was phenomenal. Large selection of foods and beverages. I would stay there just for that. The location is perfect. Lot of restaurants and shopping. It is only a 10 minute (?) walk to the downtown area. Not sure if they had air conditioning because of the weather we didn't need it.

Wie waren für ein verlängertes Wochenende dort. Wir hatten uns das Hotel aufgrund der Lage und des Preis/leistungsverhältnisses gebucht. Das Hotel liegt super. Direkt zu Beginn der Fußgängerzone „Linzer Gasse“. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß super erreichbar. Geparkt haben wir in der Hoteleigenen Tiefharage. Alternativ kann man aber auch das circa 150m öffentliche Parkhaus nehmen. Das Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Im EG konnte man kostenlos Wasser und Kaffee bekommen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 4.OG mit Balkon. Das einzige was uns hier „gestört“ hat waren die hohen Zimmerdecken. Dadurch wirkte das Zimmer etwas „kühl“. Aber das ist ja nicht wirklich ein Mangel sondern eher unser Empfinden. Wir können das Hotel sonst aber wirklich empfehlen!!

Fantastic location at the end of the beautiful road with plenty of restaurants and bars all the way down to the river, then just straight across to the centre of Salzburg. Ideal location also for the bus stop right outside to go to the Lakes too.

We had a good stay at this hotel. A real plus is that they provide a refreshment area including outside space with free tea and coffee plus a microwave. There is also ample seating accommodation in the reception area. There is no cooked breakfast apart from boiled eggs but otherwise breakfast is fine. The standard rooms may be small but we found the size of the "plus" room OK

This property was very well-located near the Altstadt and plenty of dining. Literally everything was within walking distance. The staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good, but always had the same thing every day, which got a little tedious. The rooms we spacious for Europe, the bathrooms rather cramped, but that's the norm in midrange hotels in Europe. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget.

The hotel is very conveniently located. It is very walkable into town and although it is located on a busy street the windows are soundproof. The breakfast was outstanding one of the best I’ve had. The bread was so fresh.
