Holiday Inn Guiyang City Center by IHG

Nice hotel in a good area, albeit a little far form the metro station for those inclined not to catch didi's everywhere. The only thing that I did not like, and seems to be a running trend with Holiday Inns, was the breakfast. Good lord, I could not even finish it, it was not the worst of the Holiday Inn breakfasts but certainly what I expected, I only had it once then just ordered in for the next few days, it is 58 yuan per breakfast by the way which I believe is way overpriced for what it is. My advice, do not pay for the breakfast in advance, see if it suits you when you get there. Also they will ask you for a 500 yuan deposit, in which you can use to pay for your dining options if you wish. Best thing about this place is the gym, my God the gym is good. Its actually outside the hotel, in the community, a third party gym that has everything you need and a pool. Really good. Anyway everything is completely fine except for the breakfast. I would stay again, just for the gym.

Wir hatten als Familie (vier Personen) ein Zimmer mit zwei Doppelbetten gebucht. Bekommen haben wir aber ein Zimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten. Das wäre schon ärgerlich genug gewesen. Noch schlimmer war die Reaktion des Hotel-Managers, der erstens, extrem schlecht Englisch konnte, und zweitens meinte, dass dies genug Platz wäre. Als Lösung schlug er vor, einfach noch mal ein Zimmer zu buchen, insgesamt dann also für den doppelten Preis. Nach einer fast einstündigen Diskussion war er dann doch bereit, ein Zusatzbett in das Hotelzimmer zu stellen. Eng blieb es trotzdem. Wir sind der Meinung, dieses Hotel entspricht nicht den Holiday Inn Standards. Schade, denn ansonsten wäre es ein schönes, modernes Hotel gewesen. Wir können das Hotel nicht empfehlen.
