Igloo Beach Lodge

We loved this place! Stayed on a family vacation with me and my 13 year-old, and it was great - appropriate for couples, families, etc. The pool was great, the location on the beach was awesome. The igloos were so cool - cozy, but enough room to move around and hang out. Breakfast at the hotel was delish. We would highly recommend to anyone going to Manuel Antonio!!

Loved that the pool was open 24/7 and there many beds and chairs. Food at breakfast was great and definitely walkable to Manual Antonio National Park and the beaches.

A very unique property! It looks just like the photos but it is right on the side of main road & parking is just off the road. They do have security TV on the parking area & it is quiet. It is a very modern, white & cool vibe. We paid $500 Cdn for 2 nights for jungle room. We liked this better because there is no shade on the pool side (it was hot!) and we faced shade with a swing just outside our room so we could watch the monkeys. The room is also white,modern & very comfortable layout. There is no wardrobe but hanging rod at the end of one bed and hanging shelves at the other. 2 sinks - 1 in the W/C and the main one in the room. The safe is a bit interesting as it is small, portable & not attached to anything. The lobby area is open air, a bit small but again unique and could be enjoyable but we found it very warm so headed out for other dinner options. There is a dirt road leading to the public beach access and if you want beach chairs or shade you rent. We did not so I don't know how much they cost. I cannot say enough great things about Sylvia who went above & beyond during check in she was so helpful about the property, Manuel Antonio Park, & topping up my Liberty SIM card! THANK YOU! Head left on the beach and eat at the Magic Bus, & check out the monekys.

My husband and I along with his parents got two igloos here and stayed the week. I was really impressed. They had great drinks, food was delicious at the restaurant, service was great! Fred was absolutely amazing and would greet us and be sure we were taken care of everyday. Pool and grounds were super clean and well kept. Pool is 24 hours. Towels were at the entry and ready everyday. The rooms were clean and cute, reminded me of an ace boutique hotel. Coffee made every morning around 6am. The parking is easy. It’s right next to the hotel and is safe in my opinion. They had a security guard there nightly and also cameras on the car you could see from the lobby/restaurant. It’s a super safe spot and everyone is very attentive. The hotel is literally one of the very few right at the beach. Everyone was driving down to park at our hotel when we could simply walk 30 seconds. The national park was a 3 min drive. Plenty of places to rent chairs on the beach. A super market right next door. Cabs are easy to flag down and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. I would stay here again!

Great concept and service. The only thing to mention is, the drinks at the bar are surprisingly expensive with 12 dollar, the most expensive drink I ever had by far in Costa Rica.

One of the best stays we've had! This property was truly exceptional—unique, cozy, and impeccably clean. It's just a 5-minute walk to the beach and a short 5-minute drive to the national park. The on-site pool is perfect for relaxing, and the property even has its own charming restaurant with a full menu, great drinks, and friendly staff. Unlike typical hotels, this place offers a peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding. There’s also ample parking and a security guard on-site, which made us feel even more comfortable. Highly recommend!

BEWARE! the pictures are not reality. No safely, lights going off and being left in the dark, no management on site or invested in making it functional, sewage smell from the bathroom, no windows to air and non-stop noise outside. Left and had to find another hotel as it was inhabitable and couldn’t breath. The poor lady trying to work as as the waitress and receptionist couldn’t do anything. The worst place I booked and far from what is portrayed and a health and safety hazard. Read the other negative reviews and make your decision with than in mind.

The customer service needs improvement. If you're looking for somewhere to lay your head and to sit by the pool, then this is for you. The room was simple and clean. If you're wanting added service then choose another hotel. I was on the garden side and the smell of sewage came up through the drain in the shower and the sink. The housekeeper was nice enough to get a plug in air freshner to eliminate the smell.

Property was beautiful. The room was nice and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Concept was cute. Igloos and grounds were spotlessly clean. Bed made and towels changed every day. Just two comments to improve on. 1, our toilet seat didn’t fit right and only 1 bedside table. We made it work by bringing a stool from outside the front door of our igloo and used it for a bedside table. Lovely experience all round

We had an amazing time at the Igloo Beach Hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and everybody was very helpful, especially Emily. The food in the restaurant is delicious. There is a beautiful pool right in the center of the hotel. It is surrounded by the jungle and we saw beautiful birds and monkeys throughout the day. The property and rooms are kept clean and tidy. It’s only about a five minute walk to a local beach. It is about a 15 minute walk to the town of Manuel Antonio, where you can shop and visit restaurants. There is a bus station, literally right in front of it so you can travel further easily if you’d like. They made going out on excursions very easy and helped facilitate all of our tours and transportation. We would absolutely recommend this hotel. 10/10

Clean room close to the beach

We had 3 nights booked and left after one, and just ate the cost of the other two. The pictures definitely make it look a lot nicer than it was. We had an ant infestation in our room. The food at the restaurant was also pretty terrible. We travelled all over Costa Rica and this was the only poor stay.

We travelled with 2 young kids and we really had a great time. The best part was walking distance to one of the best beaches in town. The property is neat and clean with friendly staff and breakfast is much better than what you get at other hotels - a la carte. It's a no frill lodge so don't expect Hyatt like amenities (wifi is spotty but works). Overall a great place for a few days at Manuel Antonio.

The igloo rooms reverberate sound so if you are sharing a room, it can be very disruptive especially when sleeping.

This place is ok! A bit outdated old mattress old sheets old pillows not place in the room to store close or any things but very close to the beach!

I booked Igloo Beach Lodge with high expectations, but my experience was extremely disappointing and unsafe. Our room had no hot water, and despite trying for over an hour, it never worked. We attempted to call multiple numbers, but no one answered. The security guard informed us that no staff would be available until 9:30 AM, leaving us with no way to reach anyone in case of an emergency. We had to go to another hotel just to shower. Expedia also attempted to help, but the property has been unresponsive to Expedia’s multiple calls and emails. I did not receive any reply from the hotel until the following day around 10:45 AM. On top of that, the walls are extremely thin — you can hear everything from surrounding rooms and outside, which made it difficult to sleep and enjoy any peace and quiet. Hot water is a basic necessity, and having no staff or way to contact anyone overnight is extremely unsafe. While the property later apologized, this does not change the fact that guests were left without essential services, emergency support, or proper communication. I cannot recommend staying here, especially for travelers who value safety, reliability, and rest.

Nähe zu schönem Strand (inkl. Affen!) ist gut. Igloos schon etwas abgewohnt aber bieten alles, was man braucht. Wlan hat nicht überall funktioniert. Frühstück Americano beinhaltet 1 Scheibe Toast, auf Nachfragen bekommt man keine 2 nach - das sei nicht inkludiert - schade!

Perfect hotel! Looks just like the pictures. It might just be my favorite hotel ever because of the uniqueness of the igloos. The only problem we had was the wifi. Inside our igloo (14) it was so weak it disconnected every 15 seconds.

The igloos were very cute! They were a little small and had no closet or dressers to put stuff. But they were very clean and bright from all the white everywhere.

Nice place all around. Be warned, due to the unique shape and composition of the rooms (concrete igloos) there is a very noticeable sound effect where someone on the bed from across the room sounds like they are directly behind you. This is not a big deal provided you are not traveling with children for whom the novelity of this effect will never wear off.

The place is fine, it’s clean and has a good location. The front desk staff is a little moody. We booked a 2 x queen beds room, but received 1 bed to share. The place was fully booked so could not change it to what I had reserved. We were also supposed to get a welcome drink, but it was never offered. Zero pressure in the sink, so have to brush your teeth and wash you hands/face in the shower. The cleaning staff was super nice and the room very clean. Kitchen staff was also nice, but moody. Direct access to the beach and free parking is also a great plus. Not sure if I would stay again, but for the price it’s pretty fair.

Honestly one of the best places to stay in the area! Super peaceful, 3 minutes from the beach, restaurant in and around are delicious! Great staff and super chill people. Pura vida amigos!

Pros: mi habitación tuvo problemas con el a/c e inmediatamente me ayudaron revisando y me cambiaron de habitación Contras: el servicio de restaurante: demoras de mas de 50 minutos (platos sencillos) y en una cena tuve una espera de 1.40 minutos por una ensalada sin proteína (perdieron mi orden y cuando llegó la comida no venía con los ingredientes completos (debiendo pagar la totalidad de la cena sin siquiera un mínimo descuento)

The room was minuscule and claustrophobic without any windows the staff was indifferent all the chairs cushions were totally wet and although I hosted a week in advance I had to leave after one night and find a new place to stay. I wrote management to request a partial refund and had no response.

Parking is off the main highway and does not feel secure. No one greets or helps with your luggage until you get yourself to the reception desk. The combo door lock was difficult to figure out and most just asked for a key. The safe was large but unattached and did not feel safe. It did not work and I asked for assistance twice. No one came to fix it. I twice asked for ice to take to the room and finally had to get it myself. The igloos is unique and has an echoing sound due to the round ceiling. Music and conversation appears to be generated throughout the room. The pool was adequate and a server would come by often for orders A small market is nearby and so is the beach. I felt I would get more for my money and was very disappointed as we arrived and started to warm up to it. The food and drinks were also adequate. However I would not recommend it nor would I return. I would prefer more for my buck or pay more if needed.

Perfect location with super friendly staff. Can walk to the beach in a minute or could even walk down the beach to the National Park if you wanted. The common area is beautiful with butterflies and a deep pool that somehow always knew what temperature to be! Seriously was warm when it rained and was cooler when it was sunny! The room itself is so neat because it's super simple yet does everything you need. It also has some very unique acoustics which we enjoyed playing around with! Having off-street parking is an added bonus and the included breakfast was delicious. Can't recommend this place enough and was shocked it wasn't packed with people given how chill and fun it is!

We liked the very short walk to the beach and the bus stop in front of the hotel. It's a five minute bus ride to the park entrance and the bus runs every 15 minutes during the day and costs only 380 colones. The staff was helpful and the food in the restaurant was good. The air conditioning struggled at times to adequately cool the room. The rooms could use folding luggage racks.

We stayed 4 nights. Very clean room and grounds. The pool was beautiful and a short walk to the beach on mostly level ground. The breakfast was just ok, and was included in the price. They charge extra if you want fresh fruit, 10$. And they managed to run out of fruit and failed to go purchase some. How do you run out of fruit in Costa Rica? As a vegetarian my only choice was toast with jelly, as their butter was weird.

Location is within walking distance to beautiful beach. The restaurant within the hotel served delicious food. The staff was very friendly and helpful 🙂

Cute hotel, great breakfast, perfect access to the beach!

For the price of the stay we were expecting more complete breakfast per example, one choice instead of 2, no fruits, no jam, peanut butter, one toast. We could have rated our stay 4 stars but the breakfast not at the level of the room and amenities level.

This is a unique property if you are looking for something different. Each room is a separate "igloo" so it is very quiet. The grounds are very pretty and quaint. The lobby/restaurant are one space which create a very homy atmosphere. The food was excellent and the bartender was fantastic. The only thing missing in the room was a microwave but the space is limited. There is a mini fridge which is nice. The walk down to the beach is flat and easy. Manual Antonio is very hilly so it is nice to be able to walk so easily to the beach. I would recommend this place!
