Aloft by Marriott Katy Mills

The elevator was broke the whole stay. Had been down a week prior to my stay. Issues checking in so i had to wait just a bad experience all together

The pool was not in service which is why i booked room. The room itself was not up to par as other alofts ive stayed at.

Elevators were out of order for 2 days and my room was on the 4th floor.

Elevators were broken all weekend so I had to walk front desk service was poor. I didn’t enjoy my stay this go round. I book with aloft all the time

The shower is like on water ration. The pressure in the shower is so low. It took me 45 to an hour to get rinse off. One of the key catd always doesn’t works twice I have to ask to another one

Great location next to Katy Mills Malls and lots of shopping and restaurants. Very friendly staff. The pool was crystal clear, clean and perfect temperature. Our bathroom shower wasn’t very clean and the body wash dispenser was completely empty. The coffee maker in the room did not work at all. One elevator was not working so there was only one elevator that worked and it was extremely slow.

I will NEVER book here again. The A/C was out in the lobby/1st floor and had been for WEEKS, they said. The rooms feel like you're sleeping in a warehouse. The couch is teeny tiny. Definitely don't count that as somewhere to sleep. There was no hand soap, just lotion, in the bathroom. They also left behind a really gross, thick hair that makes you wonder how clean any of the room is. Our friends that we booked with (3 other families) were sent to find another hotel because they had 3+ people in their family and the hotel only had King beds available (even though they reserved rooms with double beds well in advance). It was the most frustrating experience and I would NEVER recommend this location. **I couldn't include more pictures because my kids are in the rest of my pictures of the room.

Really fantastic lobby served by the WXYZ lounge. I loved the jewel color scheme and the darkness of the hallway to very comfortable rooms. Sadly there was no service from the bar!

The hotel is on the periphery of the Katy Mills Outlet Mall parking lagoon, so not the most charming locale, which made the sight of two thuggish teenagers on skateboards on the parking lot somewhat unsettling. Almost as unsettling as the wave of heat that greeted me when I walked into the lobby. The air conditioner was out of order, I was assured by the agent, but only in the lobby. Everything else was fine, except (and this is a BIG "except") the fan that rattled in my room all night (and that could not be turned off for some reason), but even worse, a front desk that would not/did not answer the phone when I called to complain. I ended up leaving one day early (out of a two night stay). The bed was comfortable.

Neighbors jammed music till 3 am even though we called 3 times to front desk to ask them to be quiet. When we finally went to sleep woke up cockroach on bathroom counter. At 7:30 am I asked staff if we could move rooms and there were none available. Asked for room to be clean and at 4:20 pm still not cleaned. I asked for clean linens and towels and still nothing.

I love Aloft Hotels, but this property seems understaffed and quite troubled. The young man who checked us in was very nice, but we had to wait 15 minutes before he showed up at the desk. Our room was horribly dirty and neglected. There was what we think was human waste on the couch, marks all over the walls/handprints, hair in the bed, and one of the pillows was mildewed. We aren’t picky people, but this was just gross. We went to ask to be moved, but again no one was at the desk. I will continue to stay at Aloft properties except this one.

The staff was very friendly. I had no issues with the employees that work at Aloft. My issue was with the cleanliness and inconvenience with the room/elevator. As far as my room, the sheets smelt washed but there were stains on them from previous guests. Found what looked like a pee stain on one on the mattresses as well. The TV mounted on the wall was crooked. The drain in the sink was broke, I had to fix it myself. The shower was dirty looking. The walls are really thin, there was a guest in the room next to me yelling at the top of her lungs at 1 in the morning upset throwing things up against the wall and around the room, slamming doors for about 30 minutes (I have video proof). The button in one of the elevators to get to the floor level is broken or jammed so I had to use the stairs a couple times because the other elevator wouldn’t open at the same time as the one with the broke button. The location is great and all but I would not stay at this hotel the next time I come back for the reasons mentioned above.

I had to change rooms because of black morning shower. The rooms both smell bad. I was in a room next to service elevator. It was very loud at times. The carpets in hotel were soiled and dirty. The hotel staff were nice.

There was an odor in our room. Smelled like a dog and/or urine? Maybe it was the air conditioner or the patch of rug in our room? At least our beds weren’t the source of the odor. We didn’t like the design of our room. Would’ve appreciated a floor to ceiling door for privacy on the toilet and shower. No Bravo available on the TV. The carpet in the hallways was scraggly in some parts. We booked for 3 nights but needed an additional 3 nights added to our stay. Due to the reasons listed, we decided to move to a different hotel. There were no issues with the cleanliness (only exception was the odor in our room) or staff of the property. I liked the gym and modern decor. Appreciate the free parking. Convenient location to dining options and shopping. Wish I could give a 5 star review but I can’t.

Hotel is decaying. Coffe station and Microwave extremely dirty and gross. This Hotel should be a two star hotel . Very disappointed Marriott should highly audit this property. Will not come back here that’s for sure.

The room was dirty and the comforter had blood on it! (Photo below Also and lipstick and dark stains in the sheets. Room was poorly lite so we didn’t know the sheets and comforter and floor an till the morning when we open the blinds.

This was a very poorly designed room. There is no door to the rest room area. Shower had a door and tiolet had a door, but no area to dress and undress that was private. If you came in the front door, you could see straight in the shower.

The room was ok, but the matress was horrible, it never stayed in place, when you tryied to lay down, it slide all over the place and the elevator buttons hardly worked, next time im going to the Best Western down the street. Also the lighting was bad as well.

Staff was great! Everyone was beyond friendly. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean. However, I wish I can find the right words to describe the design of the restroom. There is no actual door to divide the restroom from the room which was a huge downfall since we were sharing rooms with my in-laws. I believed there was a lack of privacy because of the design of the restroom. This hotel would be better for a couple and no so much family oriented.

Overall, it was not a bad experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room and everything was clean. Everything seemed to be sanitary. We were only there for one night, just to sleep as we attended a family event. My wife and I shared the room with my in-laws. The bathroom does not seem very private as there is no door to the bedroom from the bathroom. Although the toilet and shower have their own doors, they are glass and you can hear everything in the bedroom. We arrived in the room in the early evening and the TV or the remote was not working. We were able to get new batteries and a different remote and alas, it worked. It was awkward with no tv for that while in the room with my in laws. As an afterthought, I guess we should have gotten two rooms.

They put me in joint room with someone with children next to me. It was like we were all in the same room I could literally here all the he kids noise and the adults conversations. I was waken up when it wasn’t even time for me to get up due to them making so much noise next door to me. This was the worst hotel experience I ever had.

Property was hosting a wedding party and put on us the same floor next to the elevator and they were yelling and partying in the hallways until after 3:30am. We did not sleep well

There was a party going all night until 5 am and kept me up.

They were having an extremely loud wedding at the hotel. The music started about 8 pm. My wife and i were tired from a long day of driving, and had a long day the next day. Really needed to get some sleep. I called the front desk and ask if they could turn the music down and was told no. Its a wedding. I asked what time it would be over and was told probably pretty late. At 11 pm i went to the front desk and ask if they could change my room so i could get some sleep. Was told no. It was well after midnight before things started to settle down. I expext to hear a door slam, or footsteps above you. But i paid for a room that i could not get sleep in because of a loud wedding. I would not recommend this hotel due to the staff being so unconcerned with any guests.

Very modern looking, cool looking lobby and room. Was disappointed when we arrived to see the bar wasnt open. We didnt like that there wasnt a door to the bathroom. You cant see in the shower or toilet stall, but it’s hard to change clothes discreetly with no door (especially with a mirror opposite that bathroom area). Our toilet paper holder was broken off with paper just sitting on the tank. Not a big deal, just wanted to note it was that way when we arrived.

The worst customer service ever never would stay here again

The lobby was hot, housekeeping didn’t clean my room, tried calling down to the front desk three times and no one answered, until I called from my cell phone. Asked for towels to be brought to the room because they weren’t replaced and was told to come down and get them, how is the guest being inconvenienced by your staff’s lack of service.

Front desk staff was wonderful! The hotel Was very clean as well. Great stay!

The staff was really sweet and welcoming. I did try to reach the front desk via room phone twice during my visit, and the line kept ringing. When I went down to the lobby, there was always a person in the front check-in/check-out area or the office behind it so I don't understand why the phone wasn't being picked up. I also wanted my room refreshed, but never got the option for that to happen until I asked the front desk receptionist why. I was informed that my room was not scheduled for one that day unless I requested that. I let the receptionist know that I was not given that information, and he said he could just hand me some towels. I politely asked him if they could be delivered to my room, and he confirmed that they could. When I got back to my room (4 hours later), there were no fresh towels. The "breakfast" is a 4-inch microwavable "burrito" that you can get from the gas station. I paid $8 per day for that, and you only get one with some Pace Salsa. If I didn't get breakfast included with my stay, I would have to pay $10/ item for that - not worth it. I stayed here about 6 months ago and enjoyed my stay. The breakfast then was a buffet and looked really good, so I was hoping to enjoy that this time around. Regardless of the staff being kind, the price I paid for what I got was not worth it, especially in this economy - $211 for two nights + $8 a day for breakfast. I will be looking for other places on my next visit.

I was placed in three different rooms because the first two hadn’t be cleaned. I received no clean towels even though I asked several times. The phone in room didn’t work (it was unplugged and when I plugged it in it would ring uncontrollably). Prior to checking out the shower wouldn’t turn off. I called downstairs multiple times for help but there was no answer. I finally went down for help and the front desk attendant was sleeping. I have never had such a terrible hotel experience!!

The front desk agent was personable and spoke everytime he seen me in the lobby...very energetic guy

This was perfect for our one night stay. Super close to the mall, theater, dining, and other activities. Very clean and quiet.

Close to several restaurants and shops.

The hotel location is really convenient, dinning and shopping, even attractions for children like the air park. The front desk staff was efficient and friendly, however the service of the hotel seemed quite inconsistent for us. We booked two rooms, one had two bottles of water when we checked in, the other had none. We also found out that the shampoo bottle was empty when I used the shower. Brought these problems to the cleaning lady when we saw her the next morning, she didn't understand English, one other college helped us translate and she nodded after the conversation. To our surprise, nothing was fixed after we got back from a long hot day. My husband called the room service, they finally agreed to bring him one bottle of water, and about my shampoo refills, didn't happen the next day either...really disappointed as we are a long term loyal customer to Marriott hotels.

What I like about this hotel is that it is walking distance to the Katy Mills Mall, the trampoline park and not too far from Typhoon Texas water park. There are a lot of fast food places around, so you have many options that are close by. The only thing I didn’t like is that there isn’t a microwave in the room, you would have to go in the lobby area to use the microwave. I enjoyed my stay here, I will definitely be coming back. FYI they don’t accept any third party cards like cashapp, Apple Pay, chime, and I believe PayPal so just keep that in mind when booking.

Check in was smooth. Clerk was nice. Nice bar and friendly bartender. Loved the pool table. Room was clean, roomy and had cool features. Sadly there was no hot water. All good but no breakfast options

We ordered the room with the breakfast and we never received the breakfast. There is no breakfast area.

Aloft used to be my hotel of choice when traveling with a pet. No longer. $75 for one night. Then, we invited people over to have a drink before our event. Bartender never showed up to open the bar. The next morning, we order breakfast. It was a complete cluster, and everyone’s food ends up getting cold because they don’t tell you when your food is ready (or identify the food as yours)! Our bed was broken, and the walls are so thin you hear people four doors down. Hard no. Never again.

The hotel doesn’t have any breakfast as stated the wall on your way to the room is black

This is a prime example of when, what it looks like on the outside isn't necessarily what it is on the inside. I had to change rooms after the first room was not up to par (no TV access, no phone, outlets not operative) then for room two to be without a sound system like the first room. Food? What food? I was told that there was a breakfast that came with the room, but not that it would be charged and to get powdered eggs for $14.00 ($7.00 per sandwich), and one bottle of water for $8.00. Swimming was not an option despite the property having a pool, and the kitchenette area had a coffee maker of which was out of order and the kettle that was filled with coffee was in fact, cold coffee. This station was less than par with powered generic creamer for undrinkable coffee, and excessively priced juices and waters in a cooler. All of this was accompanied by friendly but ill-knowledgeable front desk staff as they couldn't answer many questions. Will I stay again? NEVER. When you see the brand name Marriott attached to a service, the last thing you expect is Motel 6 accommodations.

I paid for breakfast and they didn't give it to me due to lack of staff.

The check in person was either high or drunk. Don’t order food from the bar unless you have an hour and a half to wait for microwave food. Other than that it was a decent cheap place to stay. Rooms are small but it does the need to sleeping. AC was 60 all night and it only got down to 72.
