Homewood Suites by Hilton Orange New Haven

Our recent stay exceeded our expectations. The facilities were very clean and stylish. Our room was large and comfortably accommodated four people. The amenities were suitable and the breakfast options were generous. The only issue that was of concern was that the elevator seemed to have some mechanical issues for which the staff was unaware.

From the first moment I walked into my hotel room it smelled strange. About 10 minutes later a man in the room next door was being loud and using the f and n word repeatedly. On top of that he had a loud woman, crying baby, and barking dogs. Also, across the hall there were toddlers that kept trying to open my hotel door from the hallway. On our last day there I wanted room service and my son was almost dressed so we could leave the room. Instead of waiting just 30 seconds she handed me a stack of towels and washcloths and left. I realized later what the strange smell was because it kept coming into our room. It was the neighbors smoking marijuana. I also smelled and saw people doing it in the parking lot. All of this kept happening during our five day stay. The day we checked out there was nobody at the front desk until a woman that just showed up had to go back and get a guy who seemed like he didn't have a clue what was going on. This was a terrible experience and will never book here again.

My stay was very good! Great room, terrific amenities in the hotel. Front desk and breakfast staff, amazing! I only have 2 'concerns.' The ice machine on the 3rd floor was out of order during my stay. And perhaps this is just a thing for me, there was no clock, anywhere in the room.
