Gabaa Resort & Spa - Habarana

The place is really beautiful, and the gardens are very well looked after. The only small downside was our terrace : some of the wooden planks were a bit worn, so you had to be a little careful not to trip. The hotel is quite unique and very well located, close to Minneriya safari and the famous Lion’s Rock, which makes it a great base for exploring the area. The staff were all very friendly, and communication was easy throughout our stay. The only point to note is that the meal service can be a bit slow which could be less ideal if you're in a hurry. Thanks again for the welcome, we had a really lovely stay with our children!

Wonderful staff . nothing was too much trouble. Lovely accommodation. Bit difficult for driver to find but very secluded. Only negative was the stray dogs roaming around and 1 in particular sleeping outside our front door.

We had such a wonderful experience here. The resort is beautiful, perfectly maintained, and truly an oasis of peace and calm. Our room was delightful and very clean, with a large comfortable bed, quiet air conditioning, and a lovely bathroom with an excellent rainfall shower. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of choice. But the very best part of our stay was the people. Just before our arrival, our tuk-tuk was involved in an accident and needed repairs. The team went far above and beyond anything we could have expected, offering us incredible help and support. Their kindness, warmth, and genuine care made a stressful situation feel completely manageable. Every interaction with the staff was heartfelt and welcoming. We were genuinely disappointed that we had only booked one night, and we would recommend everyone to stay longer and fully enjoy this special place if they have the chance. There is truly nothing that could be improved.

Stay was amazing at Gabaa! Friendly and available staff via WhatsApp, easy to order food to the room for all meals. The room was very clean and modestly stocked, which was perfect for a short stay. It was a short tuk or pick me call from local restaurants, and easy to book tours through the hotel. The cabins were super cute and felt like a nice escape! They allowed me to check out later to accommodate a spa reservation, and a bit later check out due to a tour running later than planned. Not too much for a hassle to update and arrange via WhatsApp. The food was good, did the job since the restaurants were a bit of a far walk on a rainy weekend, but delivery to the room was perfect and so easy. The adjoining spa was also AMAZING and I would highly recommend that as a "do not miss" aspect of the property. Would highly recommend a stay here and looking forward to coming back!
