awesome choice! we didn't know what to expect, this wasn't my first choice, but we are very happy with Umbral. the rooms were very quiet, the service was amazing and it is 2 blocks from the El Zocalo. the staff was very helpful and polite. we are planning to return to Mexico City next year and we will be staying here again.

Beautiful old building has been lovingly restored t be a dramatic setting for spacious rooms with very high ceilings. The rooftop restaurant is fantastic and the service is impeccable. The location is a couple blocks from the Zocalo, so it's a short walk.

Location is unbeatable, very short distance walking from many points of interest. The building is unique and beautiful, the rooftop although somewhat small it has a beautiful pool and a bar (drinks were awesome!) staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was fine for the first four days and then on the last night the wife and i woke up to bug bites. After emailing the GM he mentioned that our room had a window and is why we got bug bites but that cannot be since we kept that window closed. My stay at Umbral Hilton Collection in Mexico City was absolutely pleasant. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and the rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel is also stunning. The hotel is located in the busy city center close to sight seeing and lots of food options. Good choice for a first time visiting Mexico City.

Hotel is in a great location and the room was great. However, their hot tub is a cold tub so we couldn’t really sit in it. Their internet is really bad so makes it hard to plan or do anything in room. The beds were not comfortable and when people above you flush you’ll be smelling that on it’s way down

Great location, property is in great shape and great service and love the aesthetics of the design. Paxia restaurant was a nice surprise. Great food and service. Jacuzzi was not hot enough and lighting in the rooms is a bit too dim for me - especially bathroom vanity. 4 nights was a tough go without brighter lighting.

Loved our stay. The staff was wonderful and the concierge service was excellent. The room was spacious and well maintained. Hardly any closet space though for a suite that size, but we managed. The I only negative for me was I the noise level. The music from the rooftop bar was loud and went on till 11pm; plus, the location is quite busy and it doesn’t help to have old windows!

Our room had no windows! When we asked to move to a room with windows, we were told only suites have windows and they were all booked during our trip. If I had known the hotel rooms did not have windows I would have booked elsewhere.

The Hotel rooms are nice, so is the ambience and it is very well located. We were disappointed with the responsiveness of their staff when water stopped in our room - the faucet was broken, which we complained about in the morning, late at night after we returned we discovered the water had been turned off, and they had not bothered informing us, and the bathroom was in ugly shape we could not even use it. After I complained they assigned us another complimentary room. We traveled locally for the next two days, when returning I called to check and they still had not taken care of it and told me over the phone they will assign us another room, they didn’t even bother letting us know proactively!! After we reached hotel late at night and tried to get the key to the new room we were informed that they took care of the water situation after I called. We didn’t have any other complaints but this experience was a shock and very disappointing service from a Curio collection hotel.

We were disappointed with the responsiveness of their staff when water stopped in our room - the faucet was broken, which we complained about in the morning, late at night after we returned we discovered the water had been turned off, and they had not bothered informing us, and the bathroom was in ugly shape we could not even use it. After I complained they assigned us another complimentary room. We traveled locally for the next two days, when returning I called to check and they still had not taken care of it and told me over the phone they will assign us another room, they didn’t even bother letting us know proactively!! After we reached hotel late at night and tried to get the key to the new room we were informed that they took care of the water situation after I called. We didn’t have any other complaints but this experience was a shock and very disappointing service from a Curio collection hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of my stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, not to mention how they all went above and beyond. I believe the concierge, Luis, was the best. When walking back from downtown we spotted him a block away trying to ensure that the hotel visitors made it to the hotel due to street closures because of the Independence celebrations. Simply the best ! My only unsatisfactory comment was the food I ordered on the terrace was ok, I ordered arrachera and not sure what meat I received but it wasn’t even cooked. The other two dishes were fine. I didn’t send the meat back, but definitely stopped me from having more meals there.

Pretty horrible experience. Our room was next to the elevator, and there was banging on the wall every 1-3 minutes from 5am through 1am that sounded like a bowling alley. The hotel was full so we couldn't be transferred to another room. This meant we did not get sleep for 3 nights and our trip was essentially ruined, as we walked around the city like zombies. When I called the front desk to inquire, the staff member was very rude and told me to write down the feedback on the noise for them ... when I spoke with the General Manager, Nohemi, she addressed the noise and clarified that they were aware the elevator is making disturbing noise. She suggested that the technicians weren't able to come to the building for several days to fix it. I'm not entirely certain that the noise could be fixed, and suspect that they are aware certain rooms experience this noise but they are prepared to respond to complaints as they occur. If the elevator was making a noise like this due to issues, they should have shut the elevator down but the elevator continued to operate throughout the stay. Beyond the elevator issues, the rooftop staff was frankly abhorrent. We visited the rooftop twice during peak hours, and it was empty. The staff was sitting around in banquets with their noses in their phones and didn't even lift their heads to acknowledge or greet us. The Umbral is a gem in the historic center of Mexico City. Front desk staff are young, kind and extremely helpful. The concierge, Erik, planned tours and dinner reservations for us; he was a tremendous asset to our vacation; the hotel is lucky to have such a knowledgeable and personable concierge like him. If you like a small, special hotel in the heart of one of the world’s great cities, you will love the Umbral. It was a great experience!

First time staying at this amazing Umbral, a Curio Collection by Hilton in Centro Historico, Location was great walking distance to Cathedral and great Restaurants but what made espectacular was the staff who works there, with a smile made our stay unforgettable. We want to thank Andrea, Ingrid, Hanna and Abraham also the great Bellboys who went above and beyond to make sure we were ok going and coming. Also Alex who came in helped when my uber didn't show up on time he was able to get us another ride asap. The great bell boys who took care of us when we got there were Gustavo also Ray and Guadalupe one last person i think was security her tag name was Sandee.. We can't thank them enough for their kindness and be able to give us a little card of appreciation. that was absolutely amazing.

When I arrived I was stared at by a staff member behind the check-in counter who literally waved me off and refused to check me in despite doing nothing but staring hostility at me while I waited for someone else to help me; there was a loud party going on on my check-in day that could be heard throughout the entire hotel and ruined my first day; i was finally put in a room but it had a broken fridge, toilet, and shower; they said they provide daily housekeeping however I had to ask multiple times for this service; they also said they had a front desk 24/7 and during an emergency at night with the toilet that was clogged no one answered for nearly an hour and I also had to risk my safety to go down to the front desk where there was no one. No one answered on their whatsapp messaging for nearly an hour. I had to leave and request a refund for the unused days which they also hassled me about. Please remove this property from your website. It's disgusting.

Very nice hotel. Staff is very helpful and nice. This hotel is beautiful but definitely in the wrong neighborhood. It’s not really close by to any walkable places. Probably wouldn’t stay again just because of location. Spent a lot of money ubering. But overall a beautiful hotel and rooms are very comfortable and large.

awesome choice! we didn't know what to expect, this wasn't my first choice, but we are very happy with Umbral. the rooms were very quiet, the service was amazing and it is 2 blocks from the El Zocalo. the staff was very helpful and polite. we are planning to return to Mexico City next year and we will be staying here again.

Umbral Hilton provided comfortable, high-quality accommodations. The area is safe for international travellers with key landmarks such as The Zocalo, Bellas Artes, and The Cathedral within a couple of blocks. This is a nice hotel if you need to stay in Centro Historico. The front desk staff and housekeeping team are very friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant is not very good and the service could not be any slower even if you are the only person in the restaurant. One waiter was either so poorly trained or in the wrong position that everything he did was incorrect. Kind of ruined what would have been a nice stay.

It's by what they call the Zocalo, where the Presidential palace is and Aztec ruins. The architecture is amazing. Old Spain. You can take a day trip to see the Aztec Pyramids and how they make Mezcal, and the Museum of Anthropology. Very centrally located and a great restaurant on the top floor.

Our stay at Umbral was absolutely wonderful. The hotel is immaculately clean and the staff go above and beyond to ensure your comfortable. They were all sincerely kind and helpful, and we really appreciated the suggestions they shared for activities in the area and helpful hints for the excursions we had planned. The food was phenomenal, and the convenience of having a cafe and multiple restaurants in the same space was fantastic for us. We took advantage of the great location and explored much of the city on foot, and we looked forward to returning to Umbral every time we went back to “home base”. We would definitely stay here again and will highly recommend the hotel to friends and family planning a trip to CDMX.

Thoroughly enjoyed my long weekend stay at this property. It has a central location near museums and other tourist sites. It was a convenient and walkable area. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. I was greeted every time I walked through the lobby. Cleaning staff were also very pleasant and friendly. I enjoyed a meal at Padua. The food and staff were excellent.

Beautiful old building has been lovingly restored t be a dramatic setting for spacious rooms with very high ceilings. The rooftop restaurant is fantastic and the service is impeccable. The location is a couple blocks from the Zocalo, so it's a short walk.

Good hotel. Communication was a little lacking in the restaurant Paxia. The restaurant Olivia was much better. We had an issue where we really needed help and they were not helpful at all. I would not stay there again.

Breakfast included but you will need to ask them which breakfast items are and aren’t in free breakfast. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast waiting staff would benefit from more training. We only liked Alejandra one of the breakfast waiters. We had 3 rooms and 2 of them had windows facing the internal corridor and the other, some small shaft<-this might be problem for people who like to open their windows for fresh air or wake up by the sun. The body soap was so diluted, 2 of us used up the whole 0.5 L bottle in less than a week. The front desk people as nice.
The rooms were very clean. The breakfast waiting staff would benefit from more training. We only liked Alejandra one of the breakfast waiters. We had 3 rooms and 2 of them had windows facing the internal corridor and the other, some small shaft<-this might be problem for people who like to open their windows for fresh air or wake up by the sun. The body soap was so diluted, 2 of us used up the whole 0.5 L bottle in less than a week. The front desk people as nice.

All was great, customer service, installations, super clean, great location. We really enjoyed our stay we will definitally comeback. Just wish the jacuzzy and swimming pool were open till later currently is until 8 pm Thank you!!!!!

Our stay at the Umbral was excellent. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our visit. The amenities were top-tier, and the restaurant attached to the hotel was outstanding and very convenient. The only minor criticism would be the scent used in the main lobby. It was a pleasant fragrance, but a bit overpowering at times. That said, it certainly wasn’t enough to affect our overall experience or rating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
