Ruby Louise Hotel Frankfurt by IHG

Great location in the heart of the financial district and high end shopping. Short walk to train station. Amazing rooftop patio with incredible scratch cocktails. A great spot to start or end your night. Rooms are a bit small, but really well decorated, modern/industrial/rock and roll vibe. Kinda of cool considering that they present themselves as a "green" hotel without making you feel guilty or compromising on style.

Very nice hotel just know what to expect...not your traditional reception desk, the bar doubles as reception on the 6th floor, then off to your room which will have a glass cube for the shower, there is a curtain to pull round if you need privacy, the toilet is in a separate frosted glass cube, the basin is in the bedroom itself. The soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion all smell great. There is no tea and coffee in the room but in the galley on the ground floor is tea and coffee to make yourself. The hotel is an easy 6 stops and 20 minutes no changes needed from the airport get off at Hauptwacher station, the important thing is to get off the train and walk along the platform towards the back of the train, up the escalator then at an angle of 10 o clock go up the next escalator and you are outside, this is the nearest exit to the hotel and it is a few minutes walk to the entrance

This is one of those ‘hip’ stripped-down places like Moxy. One shared iron in the ‘galley’ on the landing floor, no closet, no water, coffee, tea, kettle, phone or fridge in the room. No coffee provided in common areas. Self check-in at bar on 6th floor. Staff nice enough, good bar service, excellent location. Fine overall, but somewhere between a fancy hostel and an actual hotel. Will suit some better than others.

Fantastic clean hotel ,with ultra cool vibe, modern retro decor and very easy checking in process on ipad. Welcome drink and service with a smile from relaxed young staff. Room was ultra modern with glass walks into shower and toilet (frosted glass privacy for toilet). Rooms felt special and luxurious. Star of hotel is the Ruby Bar rooftop terrace. Wow. Will definitely stay again .

Excellent location. No cash hotel. No frills either. Room are good but no mini bar or refrigerator to cool drinks. Mo water bottle. Little to mo Amenities ie toothbrush shower cap etc. Its one of those hotel where everything are black color, hallways floors etc. The room are white You check in at the bar area on the 6th floor. Odd

It was mostly an online check in , there were staff there if you needed help. Room was very clean. Really neat atmosphere for the hotel.

The staff was very helpful and very friendly and the signage throughout the building itself is very uniquely done. Shower was terrific! Sink area in the main portion of the bedroom which did not see very practical. This was a very difficult location to find. With GPS there are no indicators of how you could actually drive to the front door of the hotel because there really is no front door. You might go down a little lane that leads to the bottom floor which is the door that you would take to go up to the sixth floor where reception is. It would be impossible to do that on a weekend evening as many people walk with in the street and it is a dead end so you must back out.You must go to a parking garage, there is no porter or valet service at this hotel. Having substantial luggage for this hotel is not optimal.

Sehr zentral gelegene, saubere und gepflegte Unterkunft. Mir gefällt die Unternehmenskultur nicht, dass mich das teils zwanzigjährige Personal, die meine Enkel sein könnten, vertrauensvoll mit Du anredet. Wir sind in Deutschland und nicht in den USA. Man unterscheidet das Du und Sie in der Anrede, auch um eine gewisse Distanz insbesondere in einem Geschäftsverhältnis zu wahren. Schade auch, dass das Hotel sehr stark auf vermutlich studentische Hilfskräfte baut, die mit minimaler Vorbereitung im Servicebereich eingesetzt werden ohne die Speise- und Getränkekarte auch nur ansatzweise zu kennen. Das Hotel ist trotzdem aufgrund seines sehr guten Zustands, der zentralen Lage, der Sauberkeit, den grossen Zimmern und dem insgesamt sehr freundlichen Personal zu empfehlen.

Nice facilities and spotlessly clean

Couldn't find the entrance to the hotel. Then reception is on the 6th floor which is sth really uncommon. Then there is no reception desk - everything is done at the bar with all the people around... but the worst thing was the odour that was coming out from the pipes in the room - it was everywhere! I wanted to puke all the time. Disgusting experience. The room itself was clean and very small. Last but not least - you are sleeping with the TV, the screen is literally 30cm from Your head.

Found black mold in the shower in multiple places. Good property otherwise.

Ich empfehle zu vermerken das kein Zimmer im EG gewünscht wird. Man kann keine Fenster öffnen und bei unserem Zimmer (als wir am morgen den Vorhang öffneten) sassen direkt Leute vor unserem Fenster, weil ein Restaurant im Innenhof Tische hat, die bis direkt an die Fenster gestellt sind. Leider hatte auch eine der Bettdecken gelbe Flecken. Das Zimmer war jedoch sehr grosszügig und das Hotel ist an einer sehr guten Lage.

Pros • Central location • Stylish design in common areas Cons • Poor service and communication: We weren’t told about major street closures for the Frankfurt Triathlon, which directly impacted our checkout timing. On top of that, a maintenance worker showed up at our door unannounced one day to install a peephole. No warning, no explanation. • Noise issues: Doors slam loudly throughout the floor, and construction noise from the neighboring building continues despite earlier guest complaints. No earplugs, no heads-up, no gesture. • Housekeeping skipped: Even though we didn’t opt out, our room was not cleaned daily. • “Lean” amenities: Communal hot water tap isn’t hot enough; coffee tasted bad. No kettle, phone or minibar in the room.

I had a rather unpleasant experience during my recent holiday. The room was not cleaned properly, despite our repeated requests. The breakfast was also below average. I am unlikely to stay at this hotel again.

Condition at hotel very good overall. Staff were very friendly & helpful, rooms were in good conditions, very comfortable beds. Very good breakfast, something for everyone. Great location near “Old Town”, a few minutes to S & U Bahn station. Walking distance to many of the tourist attractions, major shopping stores, restaurants & supermarkets. Would recommend this hotel.

Zimmer gut, Bett in Boden eingelassen daher etwas unangenehm zum aufstehen. Wenn man nicht weiß was auf einen zukommt etwas unerfreuliche Überraschung. Bad sehr groß und sauber. Personal sehr freundlich.

The immediately surrounding area is quiet and has high end shopping. Just a few blocks away is a questionable area after dark. The hotel has a fun vibe. Rooms are a tight squeeze for two people with luggage even if not getting the smallest side. Only travel with someone you’re extremely comfortable with because privacy is not much of a thing in these rooms.

Bad rooms, I booked a large room, but it was standard size compared to other hotels. The bathroom and toilet are in the corner of the room only separated by a glass wall. Service non-exsistent. You have to check in yourself on an "iPad" in the bar. There was an error so the staff (the bartender) had to be contacted. I had to wait for the bartender who was making drinks, the error was fixed and then I had to continue myself at the "ipad", he did not finish the proces. They say that this is a smart feature, so that they are able to help you with other things. The only think it helps is saving staff costs. They say they are "rethinking" the whole concept of a hotel - but their concept already exsists, it's called a HOSTEL. On top of all this I had to wait a LONG time for the elevator up to the 6th floor where the bar was located (and "check-in") the same when I went down to the room. The style of the rooms seems to be supposed to be a smart industrial look, but it just looks tacky. The view was into a courtyard and noise from the hallway could clearly be heard in the room. I now see that they respond most negative reviews with "hello sunshine" and without really taking responsibility for anything. I would NOT reccomend Ruby Louise.

Rooms are nice designed but not comfortable; there are no closet or luggage racks in the rooms; it’s more of a hipster type of place; but the location is perfect, I’d go again to this hotel for its location but consider a larger room, the rooms are too small.

Gute Lage, Zimmer ruhig, aber extrem klein!

In general, I liked my stay at the hotel. First of all, I enjoyed its vibe. The way it is decorated gave me pleasure to stay there. I felt pretty much comfortable in my Lovely Room (#531) even if it was not perfect. Definitely its nice design was its big plus. The room is called “Lovely”, and it actually looked pretty lovely to me. The biggest issue of the room for me was its size because the room was very tiny. Me and my partner felt very limited in space. There was not enough space for 2 pieces of luggage. Plus,there was no closet in the room to put all our clothes. There were just a few hangers on the wall. Big gap! Another big issue was no refrigerator in the room. The Double Bed was comfortable, but tiny for 2 people. I liked the big panoramic window which gave a lot of daylight inside of my room. And also I liked the plug situation a lot, because the plugs were all over. Also I loved a lot how the bathroom was designed. Unfortunately, the space in the toilet was small, but the shower stall was pretty big. I loved the bathroom amenities a lot, they were of a very good quantity. The sink with a mirror was separate from the bathroom and was part of the room.Wi-Fi was working very fast. The hotel’s location is great. It is in the heart of Frankfurt. Hotel staff did not impress me much. Front desk workers/housekeepers were not really friendly. Also I really hated the elevators which were small and slow. Plus, one of the elevators did not work for 3 days of my stay. Disaster!

Sehr zentral gelegenes, ungewöhnliches Hotel. Alles sehr sauber und umkompliziert,netter staff. Auch die Zimmer sind sehr ungewöhnlich aufgeteilt und modern eingerichtet. Es ist absolut ruhig. Gut zu wissen: das Bett in unseren beiden Zimmern ist in den Boden eingelassen. Manmuss also beweglich sein, um rein und wieder raus zu kommen. Vielleicht kann man aber auch andere Zimmer buchen.

Sehr zentral gelegen, Zimmer groß und stylisch, jedoch leider ohne Frischluftzufuhr, was uns sehr gestört hat (Fenster lassen sich nicht öffnen, nur Klimaanlage)

Staff was very good anytime you needed anything very helpful. We got there early due to our flight and instead of having us wait four hours to check in we only had to wait around an hour for them to getthe room ready. Will definitely go back.

Check in was a fiasco. You are essentially on your own as the person who is supposed to check you in is also making drinks at the busy bar. There was a huge line as a result. The rooms have an odd design with raised platform around the bed making it seem like the bed is in the floor. The tv is about a foot above the bed making it even more cramped. Half of the body wash and shampoo didn’t even work. We tried the bar on the 6th floor and the service was awful. Was there for close to an hour after they served the first drink and no one even bothered to check back in. I wanted some food and another drink. Guess they didn’t need the business. Good luck to complain to anyone as there are no phones in the rooms and no real front desk other than the bar. The one highlight is that this place is near the old town and right in the middle of the shopping district. And the rooms didn’t seem dirty or anything so kudos to the cleaning staff. They claim a lot about eco friendliness yet their windows are sealed causing you to rely on air conditioning when it is 50 degrees outside. But the good thing is that the air conditioner does work quite well. I was actually cold while sleeping. While I am sure there are far worse hotels in Frankfurt this one at best is mediocre.

Staff at reception were not polite, but the rest was very good, including breakfast.

We read all the terrific reviews prior to booking. Our expectations were far surpassed! Excellent stay! Ruby Louise has an awesome vibe, terrific staff, and wonderful rooms. Rocco makes awesome cappuccinos! Dido , good luck in med school! Szylvia, welcomed us and gave us great recommendations. You have to try the Ruby margarita with smoky mezcal. Breakfast was traditional fare and late night drinks very convenient. Walking distance to great restaurants or short Uber if you don’t feel like taking the train. We will visit again! Vorab die Lage des Hotels ist klar der einzige Vorteil. Der Service ist leider völlig überfordert oder gar nicht vorhanden. Trotz mehrfacher Anfrage (bereits im Buchungsprozess) wurde uns die gewünschte Bettwäsche für Allergiker nicht zur Verfügung gestellt. Hinzukommend haben wir Vorort ebenfalls mehrfach darum gebeten , wurden jedoch mit halbherzigen Floskeln vertröstet. Der Service in der hauseigenen Bar besticht ins besondere durch Dreistigkeit, indem u. a. einfach höherpreisige Weine verbucht werden. Die böse Überraschung erfolgt erst bei Abrechnung. In Anbetracht dessen, würde das Hotel keinem empfehlen. Frankfurt hat definitiv bessere Hotels mit deutlich zuvorkommenderen Service zu bieten.

Es war ein super angenehmer Aufenthalt mit einem etwas anderen Design im ganzen Hotel. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit, egal zu welcher Tages- oder Nachtzeit. Wir haben mit Frühstück gebucht und auch dieses lässt bei der Auswahl und Qualität keine Wünsche offen! Ich komme sehr gerne wieder! :)

We stayed for two nights at this reasonably priced, fairly new, and centrally located hotel in Frankfurt. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. The reason is simple: while the design appears modern and well thought-out, the actual execution is very poor. The hotel is severely understaffed, leaving the few employees in the 6th-floor bar responsible for nearly everything apart from cleaning. As a result, there is little time left to attend to the needs of the guests. Check-in must be done digitally at the bar, and when it comes to parking, staff can only vaguely suggest that there “might be an agreement somewhere.” There is no phone in the room, and no one available to provide assistance when trying to figure out how things work. The breakfast buffet is largely empty unless you arrive early, and the limited staffing conditions mean that any questions or requests for help are either ignored or met with visible stress. It is a shame, because this hotel has the potential to be a hidden gem in Frankfurt – but at present, it is far from that. I rarely write negative reviews, but in this case, it is necessary. The hotel urgently needs to create a better structure to support its staff so that they, in turn, can support their guests. As it stands, one is more likely to leave with frustration and stress than with satisfaction.

Hotel would not give a printed invoice of charges from stay including breakfast charge when requested and have yet to receive it by email. Not really acceptable for a business traveler who needs such invoice for an expense report. I have yet to see any documentation from the hotel of what I have been charged despite choosing the pay at hotel in their own currency option and despite asking reception staff multiple times for such documentation.

What an awesome place to stay. Breakfast was fabulous, and the 24/7 bar is great - meant we could always sneak down for a cocktail and snack to get over the jet lag.

2 night stay with breakfast. Beautiful hotel only a few mins walk from the train station & Christmas Markets. Tasteful decor, efficient friendly staff. My only gripe would be that I personally found the bed mattress rather firm, so didn't sleep too well, however my husband found it comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style & rather limited in choice, but was fresh and well presented.

This hotel is a whole vibe. Check in is at the bar. Super cool rock star decor. Like a Manhattan loft turned into a hotel. Excellent location right in fancy town shopping area. We were there for christmas markets which were right nearby. One thing that I didn't realize are the stage beds. You walk up a few stairs and the bed is flush with the floor. It's sunken down. So we crawled into it. And crawled out of it and down the stairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Breakfast was so expensive that we skipped that and grabbed what we wanted nearby (and at markets). They held our luggage on both arrival day and check out day which was great.
