Hyatt Place Waco - South

None of the 3 ice machines worked. Kid got locked inside the bathroom & no one showed up after calling. Lock was kinda tricky. Noisy neighbors are amplified. Checked out my first room, was told they would give me a bathtub in the next room when I checked back in (notated the account). Came back after running errands & was re checked back into a shower only room. Went to get it corrected & there were none available. The “restaurant” is not open, you find out when trying to place an order. Hotel is in a nice area & with the property is nice.

Well we had been up since 3 am. We were tired, hungry, and wanted a cocktail. I searched through hotels.com to find a place in Waco that possibly had a restaurant and bar. The Hyat had it all according to hotels.com. it didn't have a restaurant, and the bar consisted of cans of beer. Otherwise it was nice

Hotel was very clean, staff was amazing! Breakfast was decent, at least it's included. The pool area is a mess. It's indoor and very hot in there. Also, there was a bunch of unsupervised kids running in and out. We were on the 4th floor, there was one above us. You could hear them walking and running, so ask for the top floor if you want peace and quiet

Nice hotel and we had a good stay. We had to spend a decent amount of time waiting for the elevator since the second one was out of service.

We were disappointed that the pool was inaccessible, but feel the property was very nice and enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Nice and clean..parking free and plentiful Only had one elevator the second one was down for "maintenance" all week. They had one of the best gym i have seen in a hotel. Pool was inside not a big fan of those, so we didn't use it. The free breakfast had lots to choose from, we didn't use it either so not sure how good it was. Housecleaning was hit and miss. Some days taking out the trash and making the bed, some days not. Sometimes they hung up the fresh towels. Sometimes they would just leave them stacked up on the sink. The worst part about our stay was the toilet! The float was broken so you had to take the lid off the tank to flush! We just left the lid off because it was such a hassle.. we didn't complain to the dest because I assumed they wouldn't have fixed it anyway..

Stayed here for 2 nights with my two girls and we have no complaints... it would be 5 stars, except for the fact that the pool itself and the pool area wasn't great, a lot of bugs, and too much chemicals to the point that my daughter's eyes were burning and she was getting a rush. Despite this situation, everything else was amazing, clean, safe, friendly, quite. Really good experience.

Great hotel. The pool hosted private swim lessons while we were there. That was strange. My daughter was so excited to swim but felt kind of awkward and out of place. Good breakfast. Convenient location.

Excellent property from check in to check out. Staff was awesome and friendly. The gym was great with all machines working.

We were disappointed because the pool was closed due to the pool guy not showing up. The coffee in the lobby was cold, and no regular coffee ☕ n the room. But other than that, friendly staff and clean lobby and room. The pool guy is to blame, not the hotel staff.

Not clean, dingy, overall poor stay and extremely expensive

Looks old and unkept. Floors are dirty. Panel on wall is peeling off and buckled in the room. Our room smells of dog dandar and pee. A dog actually peed on the elevator floor and the owner just left it there. Just disgusting. I would never stay here again

Maybe we just got a bad room. But the coffee / tea maker water container was full of a brown scum filled liquid and there was no toilet paper in the room. The lady on duty was responsive, but it took a bit of our first evening getting that handled. Also discovered some sort of small ants, with wings on the first night. Day 2 there was a big delay in room refreshment. But after asking for help, it got done. On night 2 there were dozens of these same small winged ants everywhere. Bathroom, walls ceilings and beds and even swimming in the toilet. But, my biggest complaint is that I emailed the hotel GM and Sales Manager and after a week, I got no response back at all. Seems like I was just totally ignored. I was looking for a regular place to stay since we now have a new grandchild in the Waco area, but due to managerial non response, I can not recommended this location. Over all it was not a good stay. So we will look for other options in the future in the Waco area. The breakfast options were decent and the staff was very friendly, but the management seems missing from this location. I recommend considering other options for a south Waco stay. I’m not sure why our concerns were where never addressed by management. It’s sad…

Our room was absolutely perfect and sparkling clean.

The room was very nice and i did enjoy my stay, however, i did see a few small roaches coming out of the cabinet the fridge was in. I had my food sitting out and covered while i went downstairs and went to take another bite and there was a roach in it. That was unsettling for me that i couldn't eat food in my room.

Checked in, and was given our room key. Upon entering, the room was dirty and never cleaned from previous guest. Hotel had a dirty smell, carpets were stained. Overall looks like it needs a really deep clean.

Our room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned after the last guests. The shampoo bottle was empty as well as the tissue box. The floor was sooo sticky I had to wear my shoes in the room. The toilets in the lobby were FILTHY. Both stalls hadn’t been flushed and they looked like they had been left that way for quite awhile. No one had cleaned them in a long time. The soap dispensers were empty. There was garbage on the counter. The breakfast was awful. I think they served eggs but they looked like saw dust and all the fruit was going bad. Wont stay at a Hyatt ever again

Thank you Hyatt staff 🙏 we need more places like this, quiet, clean and spacious. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We got there after midnight we just needed to let them know. thank you the room was very pleasant, spacious and clean ❤️🙏

The Hyatt Place Waco was spotless and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and clean. Highly recommend and we’ll be staying here again in the future!

They have bed bugs and really should care enough to take care of the situation. The pool need a facelift very poor looking smells horrendous of bleach and hot in that room. Staff however very friendly. I will never stay here again!

Our neighbor spoke on the phone so loudly all morning that I could understand every word of his conversation. This is due to thin walls/adjoining door without proper insulation sealing. The entire property had a feeling of “cheap construction/materials”.

Hotel was good but no microwave

Walls are SO thin. Could hear our neighbors all night long, between their tv and some other spicy sounds. Everything else was great, but can’t sleep well if there isn’t good noise buffer.

TV did not work. Asked for repair from check-in at approx 2:50 until leaving for an event at 4:20. Each time I called, 4 times, they were "looking" for person to come. Told front desk that if not repaired while I was out, that I would like a new room. Person acted as if he didn't know if repaired. When I checked, it was not. Then he said he has no other rooms, even though I talked with him earlier. Asked that TV be replaced-none available. Asked why they did not know this TV could not work

Water pressure was awful. Toilet did not flush. Bed too soft.

Location is good. AC too noisy. My room had no TV reception. Mentioned it but nothing happened. Otherwise room and hotel features are really OK.

AC not working properly

Upon check-in we made sure our room would have bed made and clean towels the next day. That never happened. At 5p we were told the cleaning staff had left. At 5:30p they were cleaning the room across the hall. Went to dinner, came back...still nothing.

The staff was excellent. The breakfast was very good and the dining area was immaculate. The two ladies who maintained the gym and pool area were dilligent in their duties.

The staff is so friendly, the food was great. The pool was nice, the beds were comfortable. The room is spacious. Parking was available even though we got in after 11pm.

My 2 small daughters and I checked in around 730 pm the night of our stay, and upon getting to our room and getting settled in I realized the fridge was not cooling. Adjusted the dial, made sure it was plugged in, waited 2 hours and it was hot. Not coming on at all. I called down to the front desk and was told I could give them our bag and that they would put it in their employee fridge or they would call back to see what could be done. Around 10pm, 2 employees show up, verify it isnt working, offered again to take our food and medication (needed to be refrigerated), i polietly declined again, so they brought me ice to keep in my bag overnight. I was told they had other fridges but needed a manager to "ok" us getting one. I was also told that upon check out, we would be compensated for our troubles and loss of food etc. I dis not ask for that, the 2 emploees in my room said that. Next morning upon check out, the lady at the desk sees nothing of any of this noted (which is bothersome that 2 employees are in a guest room for a maintenance call offering to take my things but no notation of this was made), i have to beg to leave my contact info for the manager, called later that day and the next, still never spoke to a manager. And not to mention breakfast doors closed at 840 (not 930) which was a bit inconvenient seeing as all extra food and lunches brought were lost because of not having a fridge. We have stayed here and other Hyatts before, will not be doing so again.

Great breakfast. Stayed 3 days and they never cleaned the room, even when asked to do so. We had to ask for fresh linens everyday. Would not stay there again.

Customer service

I have stayed ant many Hyatt properties before but this one is not well managed. We had a TV that didn't work, upon enquiring the front desk person said that they can't do anything to fix because we booked through Expedia. We then had the toilet blocked and again we had to get a plunger and fix it our selves. We came back that night and the room was not made. Again they can't give us any discount or make it right because we booked through Expedia. Should we have to pay the extra $30 dollars on Hyatt website next time to get better service at a hotel? I don't think so...

My daughters stayed here and had a number of problems during their two day stay. They are trying to get ahold of the Manager to resolve some issues including $16 late check out fee (they were told the night before they could check out without a fee up to 2 pm, they left a few minutes after Noon), major electrical issues in their bathroom that were only resolved after multiple notices to the front desk, a non-working room phone, and other items. I will happily remove this review when my daughters are able to resolve the late check out fee with a phone call from the hotel manager. Overall, it wasn't a great stay and I was hoping for a much better experience from the Hyatt family.

10 minutes to everything Magnolia. Great location especially for the price.

This hotel was wonderful. It was clean and close to shops and Magnolia Market which that was why we visited.

Needed good affordable hotel by Baylor, and got Hyatt. Turned out to exceed expectations: good workout room, very good breakfast, decent location, would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Inaccurate description in regards to dining and beverage options. Scarce breakfast with poor quality.

The breakfast is usually really good but it seams they are going broke. They had nothing. Just a coupke of slices of bread. We were told the truck did not arrive. Same story for both nights we stayed.

The room at the hotel was fine, but what really bothered us was the unpleasant and stinking smell in the dining area during breakfast. The food was unappetizing, and we couldn’t eat anything. All items, like fruit yogurts and spreads, were taken out of their original packaging and mixed into large containers, which only added to the issue. The smell seemed to have affected everything, making it impossible to enjoy the meal. It was a disappointing experience, and the breakfast was not worth the cost.

Check in was fine. However, everything else was bad! No ice! Other guests said that has been the situation since they got there many days ago. It was 10:00 when I discover no ice. I had to go get ice. I checked the next morning and still no ice. I asked if they could not go out and buy ice. I was told the managers would be in sometime that day and maybe they'd get ice. Second concern: the thermostates in my room varied in degrees. I set it a a temp and then woke up to it being three degrees hotter in the middle of the night. Third concern: Went down for free breakfast, no ice, and all dishes were in random bowls and uncovered. Food was in open bowls with a hair in yoguart. Avoid breakfast unless you drink coffee, even OJ was warm. I got OJ and was yelled at about where to put my glass from someone in the kitchen.
