DoubleTree by Hilton St. Louis Forest Park

Parking is terrible and you shouldn’t have to pay $15 to park then charge for breakfast when your paying all that money to stay!!

We booked a room here so we wouldn't be traveling in forecasted snow and ice back home after receiving a chemo treatment at the Siteman Cancer Center next door. The only downside was the Doubletrees parking garage and access to it was not handicap friendly at all.

parking was extra, and not explained properly at check in a bit confusing

Everything was great about the hotel, except the parking. Very inconvenient, it needs valet parking.

Our car was vandalized, window busted and broken into in the parking garage of our hotel. There were no cameras and over 50 cars broken into with broken windows. No help from hotel. U felt very unsafe and lost valuable belongings. Never will I be back to Forest park doubletree Hilton hotel EVER AGAIN.

Confusing to get from parking garage to hotel . Not clear.

Stayed overnite for access to Barnes Dr visit. Very convenient, can use skywalk or just cross the street. Applebees is connected also and open late. Can also get room service from Applebees. Loved the late check out time at noon and parking garage was easy access tho an addl $13/nite. Mini store available in lobby but they didn’t have many products. When I asked the front desk staff about the displayed listing on the desk of available items for purchase they stated that list hadn’t been updated in years and they carried basically none of those items. I didn’t really need anything but found it rather disappointing to hear this. Stayed in corner suite and room was very nice and just what we expected. Blackout curtains couch, work area, 2 televisions with many streaming channel selections. Did not partake in breakfast which was available for $14pp. Would stay again next time we have Dr appt and would recommend for stay as is nice location, clean, friendly staff and comfortable.

good hotel if you need to be in the area. I had trouble with the next door parking garage, I was at a concert and when I returned around 11pm almost no spots to be found. The spots are narrow and the turning radius is also, like older garages. I believe they offer valet also. If I were not to return, besides not liking downtown St. Louis, It would be the garage. I had no trouble with my room, which was very clean and the staff, who were very gracious and kind. I did not try the buffet.

Out of all the Double Trees I\'ve stayed at this one was average to good, but not excellent. The covered, secure, parking was nice, but the garage is not connected to the hotel, so you have to walk the garage back out to the front of the hotel. That was fine for most, but if you are disabled, that would be difficult based on the steepness of the garage. Additionally, this means, you need to unload/load your bags at the drop off zone, unless you want to haul them into the garage as it\'s not conducive to use a cart in the garage. There\'s not even a good staircase to use from the garage; you, literally, have to walk all the way back down and there is limited disabled parking or lower level parking. The garage is, actually, tight, too, so if you have an oversized vehicle, it will be difficult to maneuver. The front desk, cleaning crew and other staff were friendly and the attached Applebee\'s is nice if you don\'t want to venture out for dinner (that IS accessible from ground level and there is a door from the hotel to the restaurant). Other than that, the rooms are a bit loud because, while there are independent thermostats in each room, a fan blows, constantly, throughout the night and you can\'t shut it off (I asked). I\'m not sure if this is all rooms, or just my room/floor, but if you want quiet, this fan will bother you, more than likely. The black out curtains were nice and the TV is large (around 50").

Parking garage is difficult and small

Hotel was dated. Shower was not clean. Staff not friendly when I ask for assistance. I had lots of tests at hospital and skywalk was helpful

This hotel is starting to show wear and tear. It gets alot of traffic due to location to Hospital. The location is perfect if you are there for medical stay but there was trash all over the place outside. Makeup on the pillow and yellowed stain on comforter. The blue chair was filthy. Hair on the bathroom floor.

We arrived late to check in and the hotel lobby spelled like rotten eggs. We made it up to the room and their was a dark black large metal stain along with being dirty and constant dripping in the tub. I called and requested a different room and she said they were full and she could come up and clean it. I asked for a refund and we left. Terrible. Will not stay there and do not recommend!!!!

This place is conveniently located near the Delmar Loop, where we had a concert. Rooms were clean, staff courteous. Parking is very reasonable for a large city, and the garage is easy to get to. My only gripe would be the overpowering air freshener or whatever it was. It smelled clean, but too much—through the lobby and entire hotel. I get migraines from strong fragrances, and I’ve noticed other hotels have started using strong air fresheners too.

Rooms are immaculate. Very clean. Comfortable beds

Everything is good except the odor in the hall ways

This was pretty bad. 206 dollars total . My room had a big hair on the toilet . The ceiling was peeling and cracking above the shower . There was lots of pink soap scum in shower . The bed bases had long drip stains coming from under the mattress on both beds You will see the pics . I also only wanted a king bed . Got two queens . The cable was out so no television . It was quiet and after lots of Lysol I was able to rest peacefully . I don’t complain but others should be aware before spending that much money . I hope the other rooms are better .

Close to doctor, little noisy at night. Rooms could be cleaner.

The staff was very nice and accommodating, but the bathroom was fairly disgusting. The toilet had scratch marks all over it, the tub drain was rusted, and the towels were stained. Definitely not worth $230 a night.

I was shocked by the la k of cleanliness in the facility. No tissue or towels when I arrived to my room.

Supposed to be a 4 star hotel, but it’s not any better than the 3 star hotels that are half the price.

Did not pay to eat breakfast. The temp was easy to adjust, comfortable. Room had cracked ceiling in bathroom, bug guts on the ceiling. Ceiling was looking like it could crumble at any time. Water pressure poor. Room was clean.

The window to our room looked out to the parking garage which we found out at 6am is partially under construction. It's safe to say our room was not the best in the building, but the noise from the construction immediately outside was extremely loud. I can't imagine anyone that could sleep through it even with earplugs. I understand this is not the hotel's fault directly, but you'd think there is some accommodation that could have been made like ceasing to rent out the rooms directly next to the construction for the time being. In addition to this, there was no process for initially getting into the parking garage resulting in us and a whole line of other guests having to call reception to understand how to park our car. The room itself was decent, but the bathroom could use an upgrade and a better clean. The staff at the cafe/breakfast bar were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel has an excellent location in the Central West End area of St. Louis and is a 3-minute walk from the Central West End station of the Metrolink rail line which links downtown St. Louis to the airport. Directly behind the hotel at a distance of only about fifteen feet is a multistory parking garage, into which all rooms on the back side of the hotel (including ours) look directly. During the night, the security alarm of a car parked there went off repeatedly, waking us up. If you choose to stay at this hotel, make sure to request/demand a room on the front side of the hotel in order to avoid being placed right against this garage. We were in the hotel for two nights, during which we smelled marijuana smoke infiltrating our room via the HVAC on three separate occasions. I did not report this to the hotel management since I figured that they could have done nothing about it short of getting a search and seizure warrant to enter all rooms looking for the offending substance. Incidentally, the hotel is located a short block away from a prominently signed marijuana dispensary. Given the parking garage proximity and the marijuana smoke problem, I do not recommend this property

The bed and pillows were comfortable but not happy with the room or hotel. It was very dark, could hardly see our clothes even with all the lights on. The safe was in a closet with absolutely no lights so I couldn’t see how to open it or what was in it. The air conditioner when it went on had a loud grinding noise that kept waking me and my husband up. They try to make you happy by giving you a cookie and bottle of water at check in. But the next morning my husband went down for a cup of coffee and they said they have to charge us for that. Are you kidding. I’ve never stayed in a hotel before where a coffee in the morning was free. Doesn’t make sense that an inexpensive cup of coffee that is usually a given they cant include.

AC vibration in the first room was so loud that we had to ask for another. The wall was vibrating. Second room had a broken AC, 78° in there. Third room "upgrade" was identical to the first two, but a view of the neighborhood instead of the roof. The AC worked, but the pillowcases weren't on the pillows yet, just lying on tge bed as if housekeeping got distracted.

The property was clean, but I was disappointed that our room looked directly into a parking garage. This room should’ve been discounted for this. Otherwise it was a nice stay.

Ac was so noisy

It's fine but I probably wouldn't stay there again through Expedia. They put the 3rd party bookings in the rooms next to the parking garage. We had a fine view of gray concrete and no natural light. Lots of noise from vehicles coming and going late at night. The bed was too soft. Couch was broken. We had A/C & toilet issues that were fixed promptly. Plenty of food options and Forest Park within one block though. Breakfast buffet price was reasonable if you decide not to go out.

My mother had brain surgery. She is 84. The only flight I could get put me in at 2am. Double tree locks their doors after 11pm. I buzzed, waited, no response. I called no answer. My Uber driver was still around and we saw a woman walking around. We pounded on the window and she pointed at the buzzer. I buzzed again, no answer. I assumed she must not be able to help. After about 1/2 hour the driver was able to get someone on the phone and let me in. IT WAS THE WOMAN WHO WAS WALKING AROUND! I was crying by this time. No other hotels had rooms and had instructed me to “sleep in my car.” I didn’t rent a car. She never apologized and acted like her phone wasn’t working. If that’s the case, why not use the intercom to ask who I was. What if someone lost a key? She said they were doing inventory and the system was down. Frankly I think she ignored me because she was doing inventory??? She did give me a break on the room and free breakfast that I really couldn’t use. I will NEVER GO TO A HILTON GROUP HOTEL AGAIN. The Hilton near by was not answering their phone either which just tells me all I need to know.

Staff seemed like I was bothering them. 8 groups checking in and only 1 person at desk. Another lady came out of office after 15 min. Waiting 25 min to check in is unacceptable.

Jim (the GM), Liz (manager), and Brandon (associate) were all so friendly, considerate, and helpful. They truly went above and beyond for my family as my father was hospitalized at Barnes Jewish Hospital.

After I checked in got settled into bed someone from housekeeping literally came into my room saw me in bed and said oh sorry and walked out. Unacceptable.

The staff was impeccable. Clean rooms, soft pillow, great bed, clean. Then petty was the front desk supervisor and she was awesome. She text me every day asking how I stay was and if I had a question, she would answer it. Love the cookies!

Booked this hotel months in advanced of the trip. Day of, the hotel canceled our reservation and because we booked through Expedia, no one called us. We arrived at 11 pm, were told we had no room and had to figure it out with Expedia. We had to stay in the most disgusting hotel back out by the airport because everything else was booked (there was some convention happening.) Incredibly unhelpful and frustrating experience.

Alex at the front desk was absolutely amazing! You have a gem

We had a late check in, and I guess it was a bridge too far to expect a modicum of civility. She was rude and insulting. I wear hearing aids and she was a bored, low talker. I told her I couldn’t hear her. She would not change the volume of her voice, and then ignored me and spoke only to my spouse. She then gave us a room next to the ice machine, and offered no cookies.

Great location for medical campus. Staff seem overwhelmingly busy every visit and not friendly because of this.

If you have any type of appointment or procedure at Barnes, I can’t recommend this hotel enough! You can use the walkway to go to Barnes or to Parkview Tower! The hotel is great and the convenience is even better!

It was so handy with being at Barnes Jewish Hospital.

Convenient to Art Museum. Easy walking distance to a variety of interesting restaurants.

The room and general areas INSIDE the hotel were fine. The exterior was filthy - garbage in the drive up and surrounding areas. It was entirely unappealing with sketchy looking folks loitering on curbs and other outdoor areas. I know it is near the hospital and that convenience is a plus, but the hotel needs to do a better job of monitoring the outside area. Not up to Hilton standards for sure.

Stayed at the Doubletree because my spouse was an inpatient at Barnes Jewish - it was definitely the right choice. The hotel is attached to the hospital complex by a skybridge, so you can walk to and from the hospital any time day or night and in any weather without going outside and you don't have to deal with hospital parking. That alone makes it the perfect choice, but it's actually a nice hotel as well. It's a bit older, but the rooms have been nicely refurbished and were spotless. they have a minifridge and a microwave, which is very convenient - there's also a guest laundromat which is super handy. More importantly, the staff, who must deal with lots of stressed customers with hospitalized loved ones, are incredibly nice and very caring. And the hotel is easy walking distance to many excellent restaurants in a very charming St. Louis neighborhood (think it's called Central West End).

My husband was transferred to Barnes Jewish Hospital. Double Tree at Forest Park is connected via a walkway to the hospital which is very convenient. You can also leave your car there instead of parking in the hospital's parking garage. If you call the hotel directly, they have a Barnes Jewish family rate plus $10 parking instead of the regular $15 at the hotel or $16 at the hospital garage. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Thanks for making a tough time so much easier for us.

Shower containers for soap & shampoo were empty. Breakfast that is usually included at Doubletrees was $14.50 plus tax & had few choices compared to others. It was terrible.

One person at front desk hard to reach. Breakfast was expensive and terrible. Also room noisy. Could hear people in next room and also base beats from someone’s tv or radio. Maid service could have been better.

The rooms are too small for the price and the breakfast that you have to pay for sucks.

This is in a great area near lots of restaurants. Very cute neighborhood. The parking garage is right next door and there is also an Applebees that you can enter from the lobby of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The beds in our room were super comfy and the room was nice and clean. My family and I liked the restaurant attached to the hotel. The easy access to the hospital for our appointment via the attached breezeway was fantastic.

The stay was fine. We did not think breakfast should be charged $15/person. The quality of the breakfast was no better than Hampton Inn’s breakfast. Matter of fact they did not offer some of the items offered in your other locations

Check in clerk was amazing. Room was clean but dated. Breakfast was bad. No silverware eggs coffee biscuits. Probably won’t stay there again. Really not worth price paid.

The blind in our room wouldn’t open. I like natural light during the day. The breakfast wasn’t so great. Food was cold.
