Great location and food options. Hotel was clean with a lot to offer. Staff was helpful but not overly friendly. The pool was the let down. Toooo cold!! Could not use once. Only 1/2 hot tub worked which was a drawback. Oh a great massage

Property was not downtown but still walkable to restaurants. Nice pool area and they actually had HOT hot tubs! The other places we went didn’t. So we were happy to sit in a hot one in the evenings. Clean and nice rooms. We were in building two with a perfectly clear view of the volcano! Bar upstairs was nice. Buffet breakfast was great, especially the omelette station for my son! Great place to stay in La Fortuna!

The hot springs were quite cold, and the 20% spa discount offered through Expedia was not honored. Only one elevator was working at times, which was inconvenient. Honestly, for the price, there are better hotel options with more reliable service.

The hotel had an ok view of the volcano. The rooms are outdated no full size mirror. Only one key fob. Breakfast did not have variety each morning and I stayed for 6 nights. You have to reserve breakfast for each day which is a very big inconvenience. The ladies at breakfast are not very friendly. They also denied be breakfast one day because the lady did not put my room down etc.. (when I did). They need to do first come first serve… key fob stopped working for both rooms so had to get that fixed in front desk. The smaller pool doesn’t work. Only one hot tub works. Pool is not heated. Can’t pay drinks in the pool by room number.. 4th floor rooftop bar is not open yet. For a “4 star hotel” it lacks a lot. Needs a lot of work!

Las instalaciones son muy bonitas, tiene una alberca grande con agua fría-tibia, 4 jacuzzis (1 con agua muy caliente y junto a él 1 con agua templada, 1 más grande con agua caliente pero al fondo, 1 más pequeño con una silla para descansar) ví otra alberca pequeña perl estaba vacía. Los sonidos de los insectos son impresionantes. Mi habitación tenía un problema con la puerta del baño ya que no cerraba, fuera de eso estaba muy bien junto con su terraza. El personal muy amable. El desayuno tipo buffete muy rico, preparan omelette al momento y en cuanto a los platillos son tipicos de la región lo cuál está muy bien. Y la ubicación es excelente. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

The property is close to downtown La Fortuna. It's right off the main road, which I loved. There's a security guard at the gate at all times. This made us feel safe. The rooms were spacious and fully stocked with bathroom toiletries, minie fridge and coffee maker. No microwave however. The breakfast was buffet style with many fruit options and pastries. It also had an omelet station. We enjoyed it very much. The whirlpool hot tub was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We truly felt welcomed and enjoyed our stay very much. I highly recommend staying here when in town.

We had a room with a jacuzzi and it was very nice and spacious. The bathroom was also likewise. The grounds were very well kept and tropical. I wouldn’t mind staying there again. The available parking was a bit skimpy but that’s my only negative comment about the hotel.

The property is beautiful and well located. Staff at the front desk is very friendly. Although, the pictures show a much newer or fancier place. The bathroom had mold and was not that clean. Pool was ok, but looked better on pictures. Staff of the restaurant was not that friendly. Tours were also much more expensive

I appreciate the staff holding our reservations as we experienced flight delays due to inclement weather. Security checked us in after hours very quickly and had keys ready to escort us to our rooms. Very clean, really good door seals to keep humidity out and efficient AC. THANK YOU!

The property was veey nice, the exterior needed much needed updating as mold was all over the staircase clear wall. The room was nice, minus fact shower didnt get hot. But the hot tub watwr and sink water was scolding hot just as i like it. But yhe tub/jacuzzi didnt work there were never any bubbles. We called it in but in 6 days never got fixed. All in all i liked the hotel, but it wasnt a 9.6 rating. I woukd say 8.7

I booked this hotel because of the good reviews and because it’s supposed to be a 3 or 4-star place. But honestly, I’m extremely disappointed and shocked by what I experienced. First, they gave me a room with a jacuzzi, but the blinds were completely see-through from the outside! Anyone walking by could literally see inside. On top of that, they put me on the first floor, which made it even worse. I felt so uncomfortable and had to ask for a room change. When they finally changed my room, I thought things would get better — but then when I turned on the air conditioner, a few cockroaches actually blew out from it! I was terrified and disgusted. How can this happen in a hotel that claims to be 3 or 4 stars? Breakfast was another nightmare. There were so many flies on the sweet cakes. Even though there was a cover, there was a big gap beside the door, so flies could easily get in and out. I even saw a dead fly floating in the syrup. I told one of the workers about it, but he completely ignored me like it was no big deal. Honestly, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. I will never come back here again, and I strongly advise others to stay away unless the hotel seriously improves its hygiene and management.

The director at the front desk was extremely unprofessional and very unpleasant with clients. I tried to communicate with them for weeks beforehand, but never received any response. The room smelled extremely bad. There was visible mold in several areas, including the bathroom and near the A/C unit. The air conditioner itself was completely contaminated with mold—one of the dirtiest I have seen in a long time, and I work in HVAC. Additionally, the balcony door needed to be replaced, as it was impossible to see through it due to its condition, meaning you had to open the door just to see the volcano. The pictures shown of the property do not accurately represent reality: the place is much older and in not so good condition.

The property was just ok.. the cleanliness was a bit lacking and the property was old. The was a specific odor to the place. It could use some updates. The location was great. You could see the volcano from the rooms and restaurants, bars, shops were a walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was clean, although there was some mold in the bathroom. The bed was spacious and very comfortable. Unfortunately, our junior suite had a hot-tub that did not work very well and the sliding glass door seal was broken so you could not see through the glass. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

My recent stay at Hotel Magic Mountain SPA & Conference center was unfortunately not up to expectations. The Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the building was extremely spotty, making it difficult to stay connected or get any work done. Additionally, the TV in my room didn’t work because the cable wasn’t properly connected. While this may seem like a minor issue, it was frustrating to deal with after a long day of travel. To add to the inconvenience, the restroom door wouldn’t close properly, which impacted my comfort during the stay. I believe these issues could be easily resolved with better maintenance and attention to detail. I hope the management addresses these concerns to improve the overall guest experience.

The rooms were not prepared. We checked in later in the evening. Coffee maker did not have cable long enough to connect to the plug. We had to call service and to get extension. Then later in the evening wanted to take shower and found that shower was not working. We had to call service at 10 pm and got it working. The same condition was with both the rooms. There was no closet in the room for clothes. Other wise surroundings pool areas were nice.

You can't beat the view of the volcano from the balconies that also overlook gardens, fountains and the pool. The breakfast was great and our dinner there was very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beds and pillows were comfy. There are not many outlets and what we plugged in wouldn't stay in. Not sure why. Overall a good stay!

Probably one of the nicer places I have stayed for the price range. The breakfast buffet every morning was really good and was included in our stay. There are 8 pools to swim in with varying temps that were all clean and nice and nested around different areas in the pool area. I am always a bif fan of a swim-up bar as well. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. the only downside is the walls are a bit thin. We could clearly hear the TV for the one next to us and the people above us as they walked around.

This hotel was really convenient for a last minute booking. The location was great and on the Main Street right by all of the restaurants and bars. The AC was in awful condition and made an obnoxiously loud clicking noise all night long. The view of the volcano right outside our window definitely made up for it though!

Spotlessly clean, with friendly staff, this hotel is in a fantastic location for uninterrupted views of the Arenal volcano, which are amazing! Our room was well appointed, comfortable and well tended during our stay. The only criticism would be that the public areas are a little dated and poorly laid out: the bar is currently remote from the body of the hotel and rather unappealing, but we did note that there was a programme of refurbishment in progress, so maybe this is being addressed.

The room was clean, although there was some mold in the bathroom. The bed was spacious and very comfortable. Unfortunately, our junior suite had a hot-tub that did not work very well and the sliding glass door seal was broken so you could not see through the glass. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

I appreciate the staff holding our reservations as we experienced flight delays due to inclement weather. Security checked us in after hours very quickly and had keys ready to escort us to our rooms. Very clean, really good door seals to keep humidity out and efficient AC. THANK YOU!

Very surprised by the overall ratings of this property. First, when I arrived I was told to park in another lot that would be closer to my room. This lot was in a very inconspicuous dark alleyway (immediately disregarded) due to the fact, it seemed implausible. Seemed very unsafe. Air conditioning did not work and there was a sizeable hole in the ceiling, that raised a reg flag. I brought these concerns to staff (after hours) and the issue was rectified (moving to another room). Overall, I wouldnt stay again, it was ok but definitely not the best or anything like it falsely represents online; the property doesn’t match the way it’s portrayed online. Does have a good breakfast and coffee with the cutest cat, who would drop by looking for food.

Everyone was nice and friendly. Good area for food options within walking distance. Room safe didn’t work when we checked in. Had to go downstairs to ask the front desk to send someone and they said 15 minutes. No one came after waiting an hour and 1/2. Had to walk down again because when I tried to call the front desk the operator didn’t speak English. Then someone came after the second request after about 15 minutes. Mid week safe wouldn’t work again but I didn’t want to deal with waiting on someone to fix. Breakfast was not good. Only channel that was in English on TV was Cartoon Network and everything time I tried to sign into Netflix it would not work

The director at the front desk was extremely unprofessional and very unpleasant with clients. I tried to communicate with them for weeks beforehand, but never received any response. The room smelled extremely bad. There was visible mold in several areas, including the bathroom and near the A/C unit. The air conditioner itself was completely contaminated with mold—one of the dirtiest I have seen in a long time, and I work in HVAC. Additionally, the balcony door needed to be replaced, as it was impossible to see through it due to its condition, meaning you had to open the door just to see the volcano. The pictures shown of the property do not accurately represent reality: the place is much older and in not so good condition.

We reached the hotel early and was prepared to wait but Juan was very swift to check us in. A big shout out to Jurgen who was a delight, very polite, respectful and had a beaming smile and made sure that my request was taken care of and that we had a wonderful stay. Waiter Calo during breakfast was another staff who provided great custoner service, others did not bother to come to us, not cool. Bell boy Franklin was great too. Sorry but breakfast was bland and did not have any flavor or taste. Overall a good stay because of all the reasons above except the breakfast was a big let down.

Property was not downtown but still walkable to restaurants. Nice pool area and they actually had HOT hot tubs! The other places we went didn’t. So we were happy to sit in a hot one in the evenings. Clean and nice rooms. We were in building two with a perfectly clear view of the volcano! Bar upstairs was nice. Buffet breakfast was great, especially the omelette station for my son! Great place to stay in La Fortuna!

Vacation with family. We stayed for 5 nights at the property. We have the Junior suite, balcony volcano view. The view was amazing. The staffs were very friendly and kind. The property is located in the center of everything, walk distance to town, convenient to all major attractions, pharmacy and urgent care is right next door if needed. We will stay again if we ever plan to visit La Fortuna again!

The property is close to downtown La Fortuna. It's right off the main road, which I loved. There's a security guard at the gate at all times. This made us feel safe. The rooms were spacious and fully stocked with bathroom toiletries, minie fridge and coffee maker. No microwave however. The breakfast was buffet style with many fruit options and pastries. It also had an omelet station. We enjoyed it very much. The whirlpool hot tub was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We truly felt welcomed and enjoyed our stay very much. I highly recommend staying here when in town.

Excellent location! Walking distance to Fortuna town and very close to all the tourist spots in Arenal. The views of the volcano from the balcony are breathtaking and you are easily tempted to just spend your day on the balcony with this view. Great pool area and pool bar and resto, nice hot tubs, very good breakfast, very clean property (staff spotted cleaning the balcony ceilings). We had booked a more expensive property which had its own hot springs but we're glad we canceled and booked here instead. Everything you need with a better location, great view and an Uber ride away from a day pass to the many hot springs. Highly recommend!

The facilities were clean. The staff was kind and helpful. The grounds and pools are beautiful. The breakfast was wonderful. We ate a late lunch in the restaurant one day and there was nobody there. The menu was limited and we were in a hurry. They were very slow and our tour arrived 1/2 hr earlier than the time hotel had given us. We had to take lunch to go. The shrimp was old and bad. Enjoy the hotel and breakfast eat elsewhere for other meals.

The hotel had an ok view of the volcano. The rooms are outdated no full size mirror. Only one key fob. Breakfast did not have variety each morning and I stayed for 6 nights. You have to reserve breakfast for each day which is a very big inconvenience. The ladies at breakfast are not very friendly. They also denied be breakfast one day because the lady did not put my room down etc.. (when I did). They need to do first come first serve… key fob stopped working for both rooms so had to get that fixed in front desk. The smaller pool doesn’t work. Only one hot tub works. Pool is not heated. Can’t pay drinks in the pool by room number.. 4th floor rooftop bar is not open yet. For a “4 star hotel” it lacks a lot. Needs a lot of work!

I booked this hotel because of the good reviews and because it’s supposed to be a 3 or 4-star place. But honestly, I’m extremely disappointed and shocked by what I experienced. First, they gave me a room with a jacuzzi, but the blinds were completely see-through from the outside! Anyone walking by could literally see inside. On top of that, they put me on the first floor, which made it even worse. I felt so uncomfortable and had to ask for a room change. When they finally changed my room, I thought things would get better — but then when I turned on the air conditioner, a few cockroaches actually blew out from it! I was terrified and disgusted. How can this happen in a hotel that claims to be 3 or 4 stars? Breakfast was another nightmare. There were so many flies on the sweet cakes. Even though there was a cover, there was a big gap beside the door, so flies could easily get in and out. I even saw a dead fly floating in the syrup. I told one of the workers about it, but he completely ignored me like it was no big deal. Honestly, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. I will never come back here again, and I strongly advise others to stay away unless the hotel seriously improves its hygiene and management.

The property staff were very nice and accommodating! We had a volcano view from our hotel and it was amazing. Also very close to tourist attractions. Parking is tight but the staff were helpful in guiding us when parking. The only not great thing was the food in the restaurant. We had to eat there one day, due to pouring rain and it was not good at all for vegetarians.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Stay in La Fortuna! We had an amazing stay at Magic Mountain Hotel! The location is beautiful, with an incredible view of the Arenal Volcano. The hotel has nice pools and hot tubs, which were perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring La Fortuna. Breakfast was included and was one of our favorite parts! It’s a buffet with plenty of options, including delicious traditional Costa Rican food, fresh fruit, and made-to-order omelets prepared right in front of you. We also really enjoyed Happy Hour! The drinks were delicious, reasonably priced, and the 2-for-1 special was definitely a plus! 🍹😄 Our room was very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the room service was great. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Stay in La Fortuna! We had an amazing stay at Magic Mountain Hotel! The location is beautiful, with an incredible view of the Arenal Volcano. The hotel has nice pools and hot tubs, which were perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring La Fortuna. Breakfast was included and was one of our favorite parts! It’s a buffet with plenty of options, including delicious traditional Costa Rican food, fresh fruit, and made-to-order omelets prepared right in front of you. We also really enjoyed Happy Hour! The drinks were delicious, reasonably priced, and the 2-for-1 special was definitely a plus! 🍹😄 Our room was very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the room service was great. The staff provided excellent service throughout our stay and made us feel very welcome. We had such a great experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended if you’re visiting La Fortuna! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
