Probably one of, if not the nicest B&Bs we've ever stayed in. Where do I begin. The room was so clean and warm, with a heated towel rail in the bathroom. Egyptian cotton bedding and a comfy bed. Little touches that make a place extra special like biscuits and a bar of chocolate with tea, coffee and water. Even a little fridge. The owners were so lovely, as was the breakfast. There is parking on the front for 3 or 4 cars and the beach is at the end of the road. Perfect.

The hotel was marvellous. Owner and staff were all friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Very clean in fact looked to have been recently refurbished throughout. Parking for a few cars on front. We'd certainly recommend it

The Chudleigh is an absolute gem, run by the same couple for 61 years! My room was lovely, actual chairs to sit in and read (no need to slump on the bed!), a teapot, biscuits and chocolate and a great selection of teas. The bed was comfy, shower hot and powerful and breakfast was outstanding with fruit and yoghurt, cereal, toast and a range of cooked items and an amazing choice of spreads and jams. I can't praise this hotel enough, the staff and owners were really friendly and helpful, parking is right outside and I had a great stay. So much so I'm tempted to visit Clacton more just so I can stay here! It was also incredible value for money.

Friendly B & B at a good price with nice quality breakfast and free parking included. Dogs are welcome at a small additional cost, although on this visit in Clacton I could not bring my 2 with me. The decoration is a bit tired, but the place is clean which is the main thing. If was redecorated the prices would be higher, so all things are relative. There a great range of beverages available in the room. I had a small single room on the top floor. There was a noise from the next door room when the shower was being used by an early riser guest, which did wake me as I am a light sleeper. This is to only negative points about my stay, and I would gladly stay here again.

Great guest house. So cosy and comfortable,just like being at home. Nothing was to much trouble, breakfast was superb and added bonus of the guest house being dog friendly. Lovely touches added with the tea,coffee & biscuits. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting

What a lovely place to stay. It was very clean and the bed so comfortable I slept very well. It had a homely feel and the owners were very friendly. There were lots of small touches in the room too. My dog Moly came and was warmly welcomed. The breakfast was outstanding and all of this was great value too.

Amazing! So accommodating and friendly. Delicious breakfast (even snacks in the room) Wonderful hosts and dog friendly! Beautifully clean and tidy. We had such a lovely time and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for having us.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Chudleigh. As quaint and lovely as the room was, the proprietor, Carol, was even more so. She was so sweet and kind. The room was full of extras at every turn. Everything was amazingly clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was everything you would want in an English breakfast. I highly recommend this stay.

A well-run bed and breakfast which provides everything you need. The rooms are spotless and ample sized. The location for the beach and town, is excellent. Breakfast is also brilliant with a wide range to choose from. A very nice place to stay.

If you are looking for the best of what a traditional British guesthouse should be, look no further. The room and communal areas are spotless. The towels and linen are fresh and look New. Building is well 19. The refreshments in the room could be no better, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Then we come to breakfast. Perfection. And to top it all exceptionally good value. ospotless

Hoteliers had provided lots of extra touches. The cleaning was impeccable. The room was well, decorated she had good quality cushions and curtains made to match the paper on the feature wall, nice quality biscuits and tea, sew kit and cottonpads. Wonderful comfy bed and clean shower room. Great selection at breakfast, fresh fruit, raspberry, blueberry, cereals then full English and about 8 various mini jam pots including salted caramel, I had to resist taking them home 1st time I've been to Clacton, was a but scruffy, went onto Point Clear afterwards

Well situated in town, Very welcoming indeed - Carol and her staff couldn't do enough (nothing was a problem). Room spotlessly clean and airy and cleaned every day. We were only B&B and selection for breakfasts was really good (something to suit everyone). Couldn't fault anything really and would definitely go back.

Charming place with friendly hosts. Wide choice of breakfast options, was very impressed with the fruit selection and cooked to order breakfasts. Room was spotless and well stocked with toiletries and refreshments. Great location, within a short walking distance of the pier and shops.

The owner was so friendly and accommodating, my room was spotless, had plenty of fresh towels, water, tea and coffee selection plus biscuits! Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Excellent value for money. I would recommend and stay again

Everything was perfect, from the smooth checkin, the delicious freshly cooked English breakfast, the fruits looked delicious also. There was a great info pack in the room that gave me some ideas on what to do upon my return which I definitely will do soon! Safety was a big concern to me as a female travelor, I felt very safe both in the hotel and the surrounding area. I also managed to have some lovely conversations with both a guest, the team and the locals! Next time I will take a few pics, place was beautiful, sumptuous carpets and the most beautiful staircase. My room was perfect for both a lil bit of work and a bit of tv watching. Many thanks to The Chudleigh Team

Picked this lovely seaside hotel to see a show at the local theatre. It delivered everything thing you could ask for: Good old fashioned hospitality, warm welcome from a lovely landlady, fabulous comfy bed and a tastefully decorated room. Spotlessly clean and plenty of tea/coffee bits. The breakfast served in a typical small seaside hotel was superb. Plenty of choice and beautifully cooked and presented. The hotel looks a tad old fashioned from the outside but don't be put off. The heart is in the inside and the warm welcome you will receive. Loved it!

Wonderful couple run this B&B. Spotlessly clean, extra amenities and a warm welcome by both. While it is not “modern” by todays standards it is a fabulous gem that shows the pride that they take opening their home to all. The owners have to be in their 70-80’s, do this because it is a labor of love, and it shows. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely 2 night family break. Cant fault the hotel. Great from check in to check out. Room spacious and clean with tea/coffee facilities as well as biscuits & complimentary water in the room. Amazing breakfast with lots of choice. Owner was so welcoming nothing was too much trouble. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be returning. Great location also to beach etc.

The decoration is a bit tired, but the place is clean which is the main thing. If was redecorated the prices would be higher, so all things are relative. There a great range of beverages available in the room. I had a small single room on the top floor. There was a noise from the next door room when the shower was being used by an early riser guest, which did wake me as I am a light sleeper. This is to only negative points about my stay, and I would gladly stay here again.

The owner was so friendly and accommodating, my room was spotless, had plenty of fresh towels, water, tea and coffee selection plus biscuits! Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Excellent value for money. I would recommend and stay again

We had such a wonderful stay at the Chudleigh. As quaint and lovely as the room was, the proprietor, Carol, was even more so. She was so sweet and kind. The room was full of extras at every turn. Everything was amazingly clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was everything you would want in an English breakfast. I highly recommend this stay.

The hotel was marvellous. Owner and staff were all friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Very clean in fact looked to have been recently refurbished throughout. Parking for a few cars on front. We'd certainly recommend it

It was my first stay at The Chudleigh, the outside of the building is beautiful, inside, the areas are clean and tidy, the owner and all the staff are very welcoming, extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with a very comfy bed, nice furniture and the hotel provided lovely little extras. The breakfast room was lovely and the food absolutely delicious. We had a great stay thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, I would highly recommend the hotel to anybody, we will be returning, I would give it six stars out of five if I could

I was sceptical of a guest house being so highly rated, but all the reviews have been spot on! The hosts were so hospitable and the room was lovely. The breakfast was the best I've had in years, so it's safe to say that I'll be staying again when I'm next in Clacton.

The Chudleigh is an absolute gem, run by the same couple for 61 years! My room was lovely, actual chairs to sit in and read (no need to slump on the bed!), a teapot, biscuits and chocolate and a great selection of teas. The bed was comfy, shower hot and powerful and breakfast was outstanding with fruit and yoghurt, cereal, toast and a range of cooked items and an amazing choice of spreads and jams. I can't praise this hotel enough, the staff and owners were really friendly and helpful, parking is right outside and I had a great stay. So much so I'm tempted to visit Clacton more just so I can stay here! It was also incredible value for money.

Well situated in town, Very welcoming indeed - Carol and her staff couldn't do enough (nothing was a problem). Room spotlessly clean and airy and cleaned every day. We were only B&B and selection for breakfasts was really good (something to suit everyone). Couldn't fault anything really and would definitely go back.

Everything was perfect, from the smooth checkin, the delicious freshly cooked English breakfast, the fruits looked delicious also. There was a great info pack in the room that gave me some ideas on what to do upon my return which I definitely will do soon! Safety was a big concern to me as a female travelor, I felt very safe both in the hotel and the surrounding area. I also managed to have some lovely conversations with both a guest, the team and the locals! Next time I will take a few pics, place was beautiful, sumptuous carpets and the most beautiful staircase. My room was perfect for both a lil bit of work and a bit of tv watching. Many thanks to The Chudleigh Team

Probably one of, if not the nicest B&Bs we've ever stayed in. Where do I begin. The room was so clean and warm, with a heated towel rail in the bathroom. Egyptian cotton bedding and a comfy bed. Little touches that make a place extra special like biscuits and a bar of chocolate with tea, coffee and water. Even a little fridge. The owners were so lovely, as was the breakfast. There is parking on the front for 3 or 4 cars and the beach is at the end of the road. Perfect.

Had a lovely 2 night family break. Cant fault the hotel. Great from check in to check out. Room spacious and clean with tea/coffee facilities as well as biscuits & complimentary water in the room. Amazing breakfast with lots of choice. Owner was so welcoming nothing was too much trouble. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be returning. Great location also to beach etc.

A wonderful overnight stay at this little gem in the heart of Clacton. Easy walk to everything needed locally including the beach. Wonderful hosts couldn't do enough for you and fantastic breakfast. Clean and tidy room with lots of nice touches to make you feel welcome. Would highly recommend.

Everything here was done with care, attention and pride. Such generous hosts with really good quality drinks in the room. Breakfast was so good with lovely mixed good quality berries and fruits. Cooked breakfasts were to order. Amazing quality for a budget price.

If you are looking for the best of what a traditional British guesthouse should be, look no further. The room and communal areas are spotless. The towels and linen are fresh and look New. Building is well 19. The refreshments in the room could be no better, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Then we come to breakfast. Perfection. Hoteliers had provided lots of extra touches. The cleaning was impeccable. The room was well, decorated she had good quality cushions and curtains made to match the paper on the feature wall, nice quality biscuits and tea, sew kit and cottonpads. Wonderful comfy bed and clean shower room. Great selection at breakfast, fresh fruit, raspberry, blueberry, cereals then full English and about 8 various mini jam pots including salted caramel, I had to resist taking them home 1st time I've been to Clacton, was a but scruffy, went onto Point Clear afterwards

I had such a lovely stay at The Chudleigh. My room was small, cosy, spotlessly clean and absolutely perfect for me — it really felt like a little home from home. I arrived earlier than check-in time intending just to leave my bag, but my room was already ready, which was a lovely start to the stay. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and everything was very well looked after throughout my stay. The location is brilliant too, just a short walk from the seafront and town centre. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and I felt completely comfortable coming and going and doing my own thing. I stayed for two nights and came away feeling as though I’d had a proper little break.

On site parking was a huge bonus although a car park was very close by. Chudleigh is the most charming Guest House with a warm welcome. My room was very spacious, the bed was huge with beautifully laundered bedding & was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was superb & all the little extras in the room were just perfect. Pure quality food & amazing choice at Breakfast. Definitely staying here again!!

The hotel owners/staff were very helpful and the breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from. The room was spacious and had everything needed for our short stay, including tea/coffee facilities, sewing kits, plenty of soaps and shampoos, washing up liquid and air freshener spray. Although there was no air conditioning, there was a fan and a cooler fridge, which kept our drinks etc. fresh (a bonus you don't find in many other hotels). We really enjoyed our stay - thank you.
