Very nice for 3 star. Good room size for Tokyo. The hotel is right on a main street, and our room was at the front, so we experienced a lot of street noise at night. Apparently t is near two hospitals, and so ambulance sirens are particularly annoying (it seems that Tokyo ambulances have their siren on all the time when on a call); this is obviously not something the hotel can do anything about. Bath+shower combo – good water pressure and temperature. Buffet breakfast OK for the price, but only 3800 Yen ;-) Fridge small-middling size = useful but not huge. Aircon seems to have a bit of a mind of its own but mostly works. Staff very helpful with varying levels of English, such as booking taxi for us. Washing machine buttons in Japanese, and instructions in English not great – muddled through with help of Google Translate.

We had an odor in the bathroom and the staff was quick in getting it fixed. However, they should have checked the room before putting us in it. Complimentary coffee was only available after 10am whereas the other hotels have coffee available all day. If you check in together with more than one family, make sure you're clear on which key belongs to which room because if you forget your keys they won't let you in until you show them the correct passport.

The rooms were small but adequate. They are located near the red light district with plenty of bars and restaurants. Lots to see and do over there. No gym or pool. The breakfast was good with a mix of Japanese and American cuisine. Washing machine was a big plus.

Nice quiet location in Shinjuku. Walking distance to several train stations including Shinjuku Station. Helpful staff. Nice buffet breakfast with some Western options (mostly Japanese though). Coffee machine in the cafe is a welcome touch. Combo washer dryer in the room was very helpful. It takes small loads though. Front desk has an English instruction sheer which helped. Close to convenience stores.

Loved our stay here! 2-in-1 Washer/Dryer was really convenient! The room was very spacious and clean! Right near so many restaurants, bars, shopping, and public transportation. The only complaint was there wasn't specific parking, but luckily there's a parking lot 1 street behind the hotel. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. Definitely recommend and would stay again!

This is a really nice place for a longer stay in Tokyo. The rooms are a little bit bigger then your average room and have a nice seating area. One disadvantage is that the rooms are only cleaned once a week so the room was more then a little bit dusty.

Even though we ran into a few issues which caused us to change rooms twice, I enjoyed everything at this hotel but I really wish they’d clean the carpets in the entire building. The carpet was stained in the hallways and in the rooms and the couches could use some deep cleaning as well. Otherwise this place would receive the 5 stars for sure.

The hotel was in a good, accessible location, a few metres from bus stops and a train station and close to several kombini. Staff weren't particularly friendly but were efficient, and to be honest we had very few interactions with them. Breakfast was ok. Be aware, the price you pay doesn't include room cleaning, but there was a washer/drier and little kitchenette area in the room which was handy. The room was quite spacious by Tokyo standards.

Great apartment! We paid for the larger room and was well worth, loads of space to organise our stuff, and a really great bathroom. Washing machines were super easy to use. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location was great for Shinjuku, between two stations and near the busy city, but on a quiet road with stores nearby. 100% recommend.

This hotel was perfect for our 5 nights in Tokyo. The location was ideal, right next to metro station and also a short walk into the centre of Shinjuku for shopping and food. The room was really nice and a good size, but there was only a few hangers to store clothes and no wardrobe so we couldn’t really unpack and the room started to feel quite messy. We were disappointed at the lack of housekeeping. You could put a magnet on the door for them to change the bins and swap the towels but they didn’t change our sheets or clean the room for the whole 5 nights. We probably could have requested this at reception but we kept forgetting, so I didn’t think it justified knocking a star off the rating as overall we had a fantastic stay.

The location was excellent!! We were able to walk anywhere within a matter of minutes, however it was very quiet. We couldn’t hear anything outside our room. A spacious room for the two of us, and we loved being able to prepare basic meals and wash our clothes. The only criticism would be the pillows which were quite firm. No other complaints!

This location is near Shinjuku and Kabukicho so definitely very bustling. Good noise cancelling as it’s very quiet in the room so that’s good. Space considered bigger than other hotels in Tokyo and of course the washing machine in room was the biggest selling point!

Stay was good. Clean rooms, bit small for more then 2 luggage’s. Hospital nearby, therefore noisy at any daytime. We wanted to send our luggage to the next hotel. Sadly 2 different staff members told us we can pay this service at the checkout - wasn’t true, you need to pay right away. Our luggage wasn’t picked up by the transport company and we had a lot of struggle because no one told us so. We just noticed by our self’s by searching for AirTags that luggage was still in the hotel so we luckily could pick it up there. Betz disappointing

Below average check-in, person at the desk took our party name, had me fill out an occupation form, and handed me the room keys. She didn’t explain anything about the property, area, elevators, or the room. Other than that the room was just about average for the Tokyo area. No multi-lingual instructions for the washer/ dryer unit so I had to hold my phone up to the thing with google translate running to get my first couple loads going.

Staffs were helpful and able to communicate in other languages. Rooms are clean and tidy even if its just limited house keeping. Location is good too, 2 mins walk from Exit A1 from HigashiShinjuku. Long walk from platform to exit though but its common among Japan stations I guess.

I was a little worried about this hotel as I had read some reviews and had filtered for "worst" ones. I can safely say that all of the bad reviews are well off the mark. Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Eastside is easily one of the better hotels I've stayed at in Tokyo. Larger rooms and great amenities. If you're looking for rooms similar to what you'd find in the US, with kitchenette and washing machine to boot, this is your place. It's a bit a ways away from all the action of Kabukicho, but I preferred it this way. My stay was much quieter. I wish it were closer to Shinjuku station, but otherwise it was a great stay.

The hotel was clean and efficient and provided all basic services. A washer dryer is provided in all rooms though is a little difficult to use if one can’t read Japanese and was a model made only in Japan so no on line English manuals but with the help of Google lens and a bit on common sense managed to work it out! Breakfast finished admissions punctually at 9:30 but carries on till 10 and provides a good variety of Japanese and western style foods on offer. The overall feel is clean contemporary and well considered with focused on sustainability. This is not a luxury hotel but is very comfortable and stylish and good value.
