We had a great 4 day break and were looking for somewhere quiet compared to most Memorial Day lake locations. The house is right on the river. THe levels were low so it was more thans afe with supervision for our 4 kids ages 4-9 out there. We tubed and kayaked down the river. Unfortunately, water levels were too low for us to get the canoes out but the property has them as well for a very modest watercraft fee ($75) that covers the entire stay. The setting is beautiful, quiet, and full of wildlife. Just what we were looking for. Great hiking is very close.

The river was incredible, so peaceful. The home was convenient to hiking trails, RR excursion and the dinner theater. Kitchen had all of our needs, beds were comfortable, really good TV reception and internet connection for such a remote location! I highly recommend this home!

Really enjoyed our stay. It's a great house, secluded yet not far to pick up groceries. If you're looking for peace and quiet-- this is the place. Had lots of fun in the river. My husband and son fished every day. Definitely use the inner tubes for a lovely float down the river. Very well stocked home and Jason is quick to reply to questions.

This cabin was exactly what we needed for a girls getaway. Spacious on the inside and outside. Huge deck with plenty of room to sit outside. Enough land to go on an adventure. Kitchen stocked with pretty much everything you need. Hot water...amazing. Area is secluded and no one to bother you. Would definitely come back if it was closer.

Very clean. Fully stocked kitchen - the best we've ever had. We had a power outage that presented two problems - one: it would have been nice to have a phone number to contact the owner. two: there are plenty of supplies (lanterns, flashlights, etc.) to handle this but didn't know where they were. This should be noted in your information list. Overall, it is a nice place to spend a week.

Just a beautiful place! Clean and well stocked home right next to the river. Plenty of water craft available and had everything we needed. Great location- within an hours drive to many tourist spots. Highly recommend!!

I'm a lifelong West Virginia resident and have rented many vacation cabins or house in our state. And by far this location is the best. The location is awesome it is away from everyone you're basically by yourself in the middle of the woods and an awesome house three bedroom two bath great for the whole family plus the dogs, Jason always replied if I had a question this location really has anything you could ask for you still have internet, TV, and awesome open floor plan kitchen into the living room with high ceilings and a great wrap around deck, we had a blast and didn't even have to leave our state, and we will absolutely be back again and again. Thanks Jason

This was our second stay, and the first time we took our son trout fishing. The property is beautiful. The river was low and we didn't catch anything, but still had a great time. If I'm nit-picking, the living room could use a simple throw blanket. The stored ones are itchy and give me flashbacks to my grandma's house in the 80s. It could also use some type of curtain or blind in the main room, not only to feel less exposed in the evenings, but to insulate a little. It stays cooler in the big open space in October than the bedrooms. Hence the throw blanket. Finally, the living room TV is perched such that placing a Roku or Firestick would require risks we weren't willing to take with someone else's property. The inputs are all on the back. But this was a five-star property. Kitchen was extremely well equipped, plenty of convenient outlets for chargers. Fun bedroom for kids. Great location and view. Accommodating host!

My family, 4 adults, 4 kids (ages 3-7) and 2 dogs throughly enjoyed our stay for a long weekend! We enjoyed making camp fires every night, nature hikes and cool hanging bridges, we tried fishing, and the dogs had a blast running around the property. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We hope to come back!

The property was fine although a little sterile feeling. Not cozy but I get it; easy to clean and turnover for guests. Dishwasher stunk badly like another reviewer mentioned. The biggest turnoff and sole reason for never returning is the surveillance cameras. I understand why an owner would want them but they were not disclosed anywhere. Not disclosing the visible cameras made me wonder if there were more that I could not see. Very disappointed and nearly caused me to abandon the rental. We felt uncomfortable and watched the entire stay. I would not bring my kids to a such a place that could be monitoring their every move and listening to every word spoken. If you want a secluded river location and don't mind big brother, this place is perfect.

Our family decided to take a trip after Christmas and just rest and enjoy some down time! This place was absolutely perfect!! Peaceful, beautiful, quiet, private and the view of the river was breathtaking!! We love the snow and all the beauty it brings!! This place had it all!! Jason was excellent to work with! He answered all my questions within 10 minutes! Awesome host! There are too many great things about this place to name them all! Perfect getaway!!

The house is right next to the river which made fishing and tubing easy and fun. The town of Elkins was a short 15 minute car ride away. We enjoyed taking a train out of the Elkins Depot - it brought us up a mountain to a waterfall. Also, Lambert winery was a fun day trip about an hour ride from the house. JB, the owner , was very generous with his pours. We enjoyed the quiet, rural setting and didn’t mind driving a little to get to different places. Overall, very relaxing.

If you’re free m central Florida & just wen through 2 hurricanes, combined with the ridiculous political climate we’ve trudged through for 4 yrs, peace, quiet, tranquility is exactly what you need & exactly what this cabin provides. Phenomenal. Incredible setting. The host couldn’t have been more accommodating and responsive. Loved every minute of it. Please don’t let the secret out.

We could not have enjoyed our stay more. Host was flexible and accommodating, cabin was clean and well stocked. Great remote location that is easily accessible to so much of what this area of WVa has to offer. We hope to come back and enjoy the cabin in the summer. Great find!

We had a power outage that presented two problems - one: it would have been nice to have a phone number to contact the owner. two: there are plenty of supplies (lanterns, flashlights, etc.) to handle this but didn't know where they were. Having the solitude is very much needed. The location by the river was perfect. The house was amazing. Response time from owner was the best I have ever been apart of. If you are going anywhere within a mile of this place and need somewhere to stay, this is it.

This was our second stay, and the first time we took our son trout fishing. The property is beautiful. The river was low and we didn't catch anything, but still had a great time. If I'm nit-picking, the living room could use a simple throw blanket. The stored ones are itchy and give me flashbacks to my grandma's house in the 80s. It could also use some type of curtain or blind in the main room, not only to feel less exposed in the evenings, but to insulate a little. It stays cooler in the big open space in October than the bedrooms. Hence the throw blanket. Finally, the living room TV is perched such that placing a Roku or Firestick would require risks we weren't willing to take with someone else's property. The inputs are all on the back. But this was a five-star property. Kitchen was extremely well equipped, plenty of convenient outlets for chargers. Fun bedroom for kids. Great location and view. Accommodating host!

Owners are friendy and respond quickly! The house is amazing, as are the views! Being right on the river was a plus for our kids! Home is clean and updated! We will DEFINITELY be staying here again! This was the perfect family Thanksgiving getaway!!

We had a great 4 day break and were looking for somewhere quiet compared to most Memorial Day lake locations. The house is right on the river. THe levels were low so it was more thans afe with supervision for our 4 kids ages 4-9 out there. We tubed and kayaked down the river. Unfortunately, water levels were too low for us to get the canoes out but the property has them as well for a very modest watercraft fee ($75) that covers the entire stay. The setting is beautiful, quiet, and full of wildlife. Just what we were looking for. Great hiking is very close.

The house is right next to the river which made fishing and tubing easy and fun. The town of Elkins was a short 15 minute car ride away. We enjoyed taking a train out of the Elkins Depot - it brought us up a mountain to a waterfall. Also, Lambert winery was a fun day trip about an hour ride from the house. JB, the owner , was very generous with his pours. We enjoyed the quiet, rural setting and didn’t mind driving a little to get to different places. Overall, very relaxing.

Really enjoyed our stay. It's a great house, secluded yet not far to pick up groceries. If you're looking for peace and quiet-- this is the place. Had lots of fun in the river. My husband and son fished every day. Definitely use the inner tubes for a lovely float down the river. Very well stocked home and Jason is quick to reply to questions.

This cabin was exactly what we needed for a girls getaway. Spacious on the inside and outside. Huge deck with plenty of room to sit outside. Enough land to go on an adventure. Kitchen stocked with pretty much everything you need. Hot water...amazing. Area is secluded and no one to bother you. Would definitely come back if it was closer.
