Real Marina Hotel & Spa

Lovely hotel with friendly service and is our 6 th visit but it’s starting to look a bit tired including rooms and corridors . The pool bar is a bit basic and pool area is cramped but could be better designed . Overall still a nice hotel and will return but an upgrade is required in the next 2-3 years

We had an amazing, very large apartment sized room overlooking the Marina. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful and plentiful buffet breakfast. We also had a very good dinner at the hotel when we were too tired to go out. We rented a car and parking was plentiful and free. Easy driving to other locations in the Algarve. Would definitely stay her again.

I have stayed at the real marina many times and it never disappoints the staff are friendly and welcoming the breakfast is always good and the indoor pool is ideal during colder months it is situated in my opinion in one of the best town in the algarve the restaurants and bars are full of locals and food is amazing

Great hotel. Very friendly staff, excellent choice of breakfast options (including the prosecco bucket). Outside pool area great for relaxing and swimming. Only slight niggle for us was having to pay to access the sauna and steam room although given how hot it was not sure we have actually used it.

O Hotel esta super bem localizado, quarto grande, cama confortavel, frigobar para seu uso e maquina de cafe . O Cafe da Manha é muito farto e fomos muito bem atendidos pela Veronica, unica coisa que eu acho que poderia melhorar no cafe da manha , seria o suco de laranja ser natural, pq é indistrializado, mas isso é um problema na maioria dos hoteis infelizmente. A outra coisa que merece atenção é secador de cabelo que é muito ruim e antigo. Uma coisa muito boa pra quem esta de carro é o estacionamento gratuito e enorme dele , tanto externo como interno, muito facil de estacionar. Também tem quem ajude com as bagagens se voce pedir. A Academia e muito boa , a piscina interna tb. O unico porem da piscina interma é o fato de ser obrigatorio o uso de touca, mas eles vendem no local . Gostamos muito e voltaremos se Deus quiser🙏

Nice views. Very nice buffet breakfast. Enjoyed thr steam room. Only thing we were disappointed with was that pool and hot tub closed so early.

Good location and parking on-site. Close to restaurants and shopping at the marina. Property could use a refresh, especially the carpets which were very dirty in the public areas. Please clean the elevator shafts as they are disgusting. Do not swim in the pool. I saw 10 seagulls swimming in the pool in the early morning. Very good staff at front desk and at bar.

The Real Marina is a great hotel, whose staff go above and beyond at their jobs. The rooms are big, clean, and have AC. Bed is comfortable, and the bathrooms are spotless. The free internet has enough bandwidth to stream content if needs be. The hotel is not too far from numerous restaurants in Olhao, and it is perfectly positioned for getting a water taxi to the beaches, and the seafood festival. The only negatives I have with my stay there are to do with the bar. The prices of drinks were inconsistent (I paid €15 for a beer and Coke the first day, then €9 at another occasion), and the food options at lunch were not great.

The hotel was ok, bedrooms are spacious and breakfast is good. I really wanted to use the hot tube, but it was so cold! I thought, maybe they had just turned it on, but it wasn’t the case.

Got in after midnight just wanted to take a bath and go to bed. Tub dirty. Carpet dirty. I couldn’t get the heat to turn on. Are usually stay at another hotel- sorry I didn’t. Staff were nice. Breakfast was good. Not a 5 star hotel so it was disappointing.

This hotel, as other have said, is not a 5 star property. My room was noisy from building work and air conditioning units outside. The bed and pillows were not great quality and not very comfortable. The floor had a worn and grubby carpet that you wouldn’t want to walk on. The bathroom was nice and free parking was also good.

Excellent location, easily walkable to the main town area, very convenient and easy parking. All staff very friendly, professional, helpful and courteous. Room very good, comfy large bed, spacious balcony with great views from Ria-facing room. Fridge and safe in room. Appreciated the free coffee pods and bottles of water, replaced daily. Daily housekeeping

The hotel was immaculate. The service was amazing. Any issue we encountered the staff was able to assist with and help resolve asap. The breakfast is very delicious as well with lots of options. I will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing stay. We will be recommending your hotel.

Good size room with a sea view over the Marina.

You can’t fault the staff at every level, the rooms are a good size and the sea views are great, although some of the carpets are getting a bit thread bare with over use, and a few repairs and replacements wouldn’t go amiss considering its status as a 5 star hotel, can’t really call it shabby chic, you do have to watch out at weekends for the dance club across the road that likes to keep you entertained until the early hours, and doesn’t really make any difference even if you close the window. Great on location for the old town and easy access to the ferries though. An entertaining stay.

Excellent week during our stay at this hotel. First of all all the staff were highly professional and very friendly. Even though the hotel was quite busy, there was always a table at breakfast and a sunbed available next to the pool. Very near to local restaurants and the little town is walkable. Beautiful views from the balcony overlooking the sea. The Wi-Fi was a bit sketchy, but fine if you don’t have business meetings.

Amazing view of the Ria Formosa @ Lagoon from the room balcony. Enjoyed the sunrise and sunset everyday. Will stay there again.

Superb location and our room with sea view perfect. Helpful staff, very clean. Food at breakfast and (once) in evening not up to standard of the hotel, but we will return as lots of dining options within 10 minutes walk.

The aircondition is on all the time - but one day the room was extremely warm. The fridge is not cold (about 15 degrees) Very friendly and helpful staff

The hotel gave us the room we had before and also gave us a bottle of fizzy wine and a cake with a candle on my partner’s birthday.

I was only there for one night for business, but it was an excellent stay all around. Seevice was great and the room was luxurious and comfortable.

The hotel was excellent for us to stay 4 days celebrating anniversaries. They went above and beyond to ensure we have a good holidays. Thanks to Ricardo and the kind staff at RealMarina hotel. Would recommend staying there.

We’d cycled up from Ayamonte and arrived at the Hotel wet through, the staff quickly checked us in and helped with the bikes and our bags - it was very much appreciated. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and they took the time to explain about the buffet and the extras we could order.

Great location and great staff. We had an early flight and they provided a bagged breakfast. Response to any inquiries was prompt. We’ll stay here again!

Nice centrally located hotel in Olhão close to many good restaurants. Breakfasts were amazing and included a really wide variety of options covering every taste. Breakfast & bar staff were super helpful & friendly. Reception staff were sadly mostly unhelpful wrt to assisting with arranging tours or making any recommendations. 2 lovely white gowns are supplied along with 2 small complimentary bottles of water & a couple of coffee maker pods. Thereafter everything incurred a cost. Capsules for the in-room Nespresso machine (€1.50 ea) and to use the steam room or sauna, an extra cost of €10 and compulsory head caps (@ €18 ea) to use the indoor pool. All facilities only opened from 9am. A separate bath and shower would have been appreciated. The sea-facing balcony was lovely with great views over the marina, even from the 1st floor bar and pool patio. The room was cleaned promptly every day - the old sliding cupboard doors were not user friendly and did not close well. While block-out curtains are supplied, a lot of light streamed in through the sides - it was impossible to close properly. This may be an issue for those who are light sensitive especially in the sea facing rooms in the middle of the building under spotlights all night long. The bed configuration is 2 singles together - the quality of the bedding was acceptable, the bed was on the hard side and the pillows very uncomfortable. We would probably find alternative accommodation for future visits to Olhão.

Generally very good and I would like to single out the lady receptionist Loide for a special mention for going out of her way to find information Fado performance which we subsequently went to and thoroughly enjoyed. GOLD STAR for her please

Overall we had a good stay but would not class this is as a 5* hotel. Pros: - Very polite and helpful staff at reception. They went out of their way to sort any issues which were within their control. - Clean and modern. - Good location; you can walk to all the sights in Olhao. - Decent breakfast, including omlettes made to order. - Nice touches, such as a bottle of champagne and brownies as it was my birthday! Thank you for this :) Cons: - Room lacked amenities which would be expected in a 5* hotel (e.g. no face towels, limited toiletries and no bathrobe and slippers). - Spa was disappointing and had some odd rules. Rude staff and tried to charge extra for use of all facilities (which was not specified at the time of booking). - Outside pool was full of seagulls, which is unhygienic. - We felt rushed out at breakfast, e.g. staff trying to clear up before we had finished. We feel a 4* rating would be fair and would set expectations more appropriately for guests. Also, hotel should specify which spa facilities are available and which are subject to extra charges at the time of booking.

Ideally situated for access to all amenities along the waterfront at Olhao. Staff were very helpful and informative when needed. We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast was v good, with lots of choice. Restaurant was available with a choice of meals on a buffet basis. All in all, an excellent hotel for hosting a stay exploring the area.

We have been to this hotel many times as we live Olhão. Hotel still really good but some areas could do with TLC especially around the pool area. Disappointing they removed the fresh orange machine for breakfast. Also as a multiple time returner a 'welcome back' when you check in would be good.

Fantastic suite and hotel amenities. Eat in town and not at the hotel. The Real Restaurant is a major tourist trap with mediocre food. They actually represented their marinated sardine appetizer as fresh and a traditional dish of Portugal, but they had the nerve to serve canned sardines still in the can! Insulting and shady.

Underbart hotell. Fina rymliga rum, stort badrum och med trevlig balkong med havsutsikt. Vi är en familj på 5 personer och fick två connected rooms. Halvpension där middagen var superb, mycket att välja på a la carte, och frukosten perfekt. Omelette på begäran, amerikanska pannkakor, färskpressad apelsinjuice mm. Mycket hög klass och vänlig proffsig service.
