Tru by Hilton Rocky Mount

Always as advertised. Clean, safe, pet friendly.

Loved the lobby area with pool table, tv and seating. Also the ability to purchase snacks around check-in 24 hrs a day. Breakfast was excellent!

Great experience because the staff were efficient, friendly and proud. The lobby is huge with a large TV and plenty of seating. There\'s access to toiletries, snacks and, beverages including wine and beer at a cost. Also, a nice pool table. Our room was exceptional. Comfortable beds, 65" Smart TV, small refrigerator and plenty of storage and lighting. Bathroom is roomy and nice shower with choice of soaps. Halls and Stairway were clean. Buffet was excellent and well attended with many choices including a cool hands-free pancake machine and Lavazza Italian Coffee is available 24/7. Gym was more than adequate and had a Pelaton. The seasonal pool was closed but was a decent size. There plenty of parking around and in back of hotel. Overall our experience, yet short was excellent!

This property is clean from the minute you walk through the front door. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was beautiful and clean with a decent sized television! I do utilize the gym in the morning and it was clean and great too! I loved my stay here!

We enjoyed the main lobby and the feel of it. We disliked the 75$ pet fee that is not pet friendly and the absence of a microwave to heat up our homemade meal.

We like Tru hotels for the pool table in the lobby. We have stayed at the Fairfield Tru before and that one was better taken care of. Our room at the Rocky Mount Tru had hair in the shower and balls of hair on the floor. Sort of gross. Breakfast was good and Outback was an easy walk. Close to 95 for easy stop with travel.

My first time staying with a Tru by Hilton hotel. I am not sure I am in love with the hotel ...it was close to a Crackle Barrel and some other Restaurants. Ryland (I think I spelled his name wrong) was AWESOME!! Our door was open when we arrived and went back to the front desk without entering. Ryland thought the keeper may have left it open and immediately called someone to escort me back and to check the room first for safety! That was beyond service in my eyes. The room was big and had a refrigerator (that still had someone's dinner in it) but no microwave or coffee maker. They had a 24 hour coffee area downstairs. Their television offers Netflix and you can sign in with your own password AND they have FREE Showtime (which we enjoyed after we settled in for the night). Had two incidents during the night.... someone banged on our door around 10 pm (I did not answer) and then came back again around 3 am! This time they knocked and then sounded like they tried to use a card to get in...the phone to front desk was busy and I wasn't going out to the hallway. We put the chair and our suitcases in front of the door even though we had all the safety locks in place. Breakfast was an omelet and was very good! Coffee was great! When we checked out, I told the ladies about the incident the night and morning and they laughed and kinda shrugged it off. We had to stay another night in another town and I have to say I passed up the Tru hotel and stayed at another branch.

The bathroom floor was not cleaned at all there was pubic hair in the shower and no shampoo or body wash. Very grossed out

The hotel is well kept with ample parking, nearby the main roads and food options. The staff was cordial and quick to help with check in. The facility and room was clean and easy to navigate to and from.

I have stayed at this location several times and it has always been great, however, the cleanliness of the room was not good. I was tired when I checked in so immediately went to bed so I didn’t notice many of the issues until the next morning. The glass shower door had sticky stains on the inside and hair stuck to it. There was trash and a dirty sock under the sink vanity. I took a wash cloth to clean up water I spilled on the bathroom floor and the wash cloth was black from the floors being so dirty. The table over the refrigerator had crumbs and a tuft of hair where it wasn’t properly cleaned. When I went to check out no one was at the front desk for me to report these issues to. There were no issues with the bedding.

Beds not very comfortable, need to be upgraded. Bathroom sink faucet needs replacing/: repaired very hard to lift lever up. Bathroom has no ventilation. Noticed mildew around the doors in shower.

The air conditioner in room 400 made loud noises all night , even when it wasn't running.

The walls, floors, ceilings seem poorly insulated...can hear all footsteps being made on floor above and can hear all furniture, bath and door movements made in adjacent rooms ...hallway carpets stained and parking lot had lots of large spills from coffee and it was all bring tracked back into the lobby...its as if the hotel is understaffed for the traffic it attracts.

Access to property very easy. Restaurants nearby. Front desk staff very friendly and check-in was quick. Room too small with king bed. Picture on website made it appear larger.

I stayed at this facility many times. Service is great. Staff is good very attentive. The only complaint I have is the air conditioner was very loud. Otherwise I would recommend this place.

Stayed one night at Tru by Hilton and had a great experience. The room was clean, modern, and perfect for a quick stay. Staff was friendly and check-in was easy. The lobby was a bright vibe and breakfast in the morning was simple. Rooms are on the smaller side, but it was exactly what I needed for an overnight stay.

Super helpful front desk staff. Very welcoming and engaging. Definitely would recommend.

I had a reservation for a 2 bed room. On the arriving day I called to confirm my room/reservation and I was inform that everything was ok. When I arrived to the property, the front desk informed me that they no longer have my room and they approved to give me 2 rooms with one bed on each room but also that the card key were not working so a staff was going to open the room for me. Traveling with a minor that was not an option for me. Plus for safety having my daughter by herself and not having a key was a real problem. I was left with only one option. I had to stay in a one bed room with my daughter sleeping in the one bed and I slept on the floor. In the future Im not going to stay in this property. Also they inform me that the only thing they were able to do for me was to give me some points for the Bonvoy account because my reservation was with Expedia and not directly with them. But the point did not happen.

1. They gave our room that I had already paid for away so we needed to either share a bed or split up into 2 different rooms. 2. They apparently charged me for the new room on top of what I already paid though they said there would be no additional charge and it is a higher charge. 3. They couldn’t make any keys so I had to be escorted up to our room to be let in and we had to go to a couple of different floors before we found a room that the concierge’s fob worked on. 4. Loud tapping inside the walls all night. The staff was fine. They were doing what they could with what they were working with. I understand stuff happens but it seemed like a lot of stuff happened particularly with our reservation and it was super annoying when it was late when we got there and we were exhausted. I will have to call tomorrow about the additional charge.

Upon Check in the desk person gave me two card keys. When I tried to use them Only one worked. The other failed to open the room door. I returned to the desk to replace the failed card key. The check in person gave me two replacement key cards. Upon use they both failed causing me to return to the check in desk where the clerk was unable to give Mel new cards because the internet was down. Later on she gave two key cards that worked. This gave me the impression of an incompetent personnel and I not stay there again.

The toilet in our room wouldn’t flush. Called front desk guy came to the room looked at it and said he was going to talk to the manager but he never showed back up. Went to the front desk asked the manager about it he said he didn’t talk to him. The manager got a plunger and we went to the room I plunged the toilet myself because the manager didn’t know how too. It seem ok. But the next morning it wouldn’t flush again.

We travel many times during the year and this our 1st staying at the hotel. We found the hotel very clean and the staff outstanding-from check-in, breakfast staff and check out at front desk. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!!

When I arrived at the front desk to check in, the staff member assisting me was a very soft-spoken young man, and it was difficult to hear him. After providing my name, he asked, “You had the handicap accessible room, right?” I confirmed that I did. He then informed me, “I’m sorry; we’re all sold out.” When I asked when they sold out, he said, “Today.” He went on to explain that the reservation I made for a room with two double beds could no longer be accommodated and that the only remaining option was a single room with one king bed—no pull-out, no alternative arrangements. After a five-hour drive and arriving after 9:00 PM, this was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We had no choice but to take the room, which forced one person in my party to sleep on the floor. I’m struggling to understand how a hotel can sell out of rooms that were pre-reserved. This experience was frustrating, inconvenient, and far below expectations.

When I arrived they could not find my room, I had reserved 2 rooms under one reservation and another room under a different reservation. The single reservation had been checked in and given the room assigned to me, not a big deal as it was my in-laws and the reservation was for my parents and myself. They apparently checked both rooms in when my parents checked in, again not such a big issue but still lots of confusion as the employees were confused on who was in what room. Biggest issue was that we checked in on a Thursday and checked out on Sunday, was told that housekeeping came every other day. Did not receive any housekeeping services the entire time that we were there for any of the 3 rooms. Actually used Food Lion bags to bag and remove our own trash as the trash can was very small and was full by Saturday. Did not have any shower gel in the shower, requested and shampoo was dropped outside of the door. Had to request towels as they were never replaced in the room nor were used towels removed. Ran out of toilet paper as there was only one partial roll at check in, again had to go to front desk to request. When we checked in the night stand was covered in a stick substance as well as the TV remote. I did speak with someone as we checked out and she did not seem concerned, she told me that housekeeping goes not come every day and I explained to her that we had been there since Thursday. I will say that my son enjoyed the pool & the lobby was cleaner than our room.

This is an easy off and on 95 making it a great place for a stop over on a road trip. We’ve stayed here before and will be back. Room was not as clean as it’s been in the past but nothing concerning.

Hubby booked me a night to get away for Mother’s Day! First impression of hotel is that it looks brand new. Everything smelled clean and I love that it’s hardwood everywhere. My room was very clean. I also took a nice long hot shower which was relaxing. I also liked that I could log into my own Netflix on the hotel tv! Lastly, breakfast was great and I had the opportunity to take a nap after breakfast since checkout isn’t until Noon!

Stay was ok. Disappointed that there was no free incuded breakfast.

Easy off/on I95 heading north from FL to CNY. Clean quiet room, nice hit shower, breakfast was great (included) staff very kind and pleasant.

This was my first time staying at a Tru hotel, and I was really happy with some of the small touches, such as extra outlets and charging areas, comfortable rooms, and great lighting in the bathroom. The had a nice breakfast, and overall the design of the hotel was really nice.
