Arrived day later than booked as we were bumped from flight due to bad weather meaning flight would land in Spain, which passport wasn’t valid for. However, very welcoming when we did arrive, room was great and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was that the pool and deck were not available due to maintenance. This was very disappointing as it was one of the reasons we had booked this hotel. We were not advised of this when we booked or when we arrived.

Enjoyed our stay on the sunborne. Shame the pool and outdoor bar wasn’t open as the weather was lovely. The details do state it is open all year round so maybe this should be changed. Kettle leaked and didn’t switch off and wasn’t changed even though we left a note. Not sure about the open plan bathroom. No outer door and glass doors on the loo and shower cubicles. Also smoked glass doors on the wardrobe thru to the bedroom!

Fabulous yacht hotel. Clean, comfortable with excellent bars and restaurants. Staff very friendly. Only 15 minutes walk from the airport too. Surrounding Marina also has a great selection of restaurants etc. plus easy access to Main Street and the excellent bus network. Was a shame the pool bar was closed for renovation but I’m sure it’s great when open.

Breakfasts superb. Everyhing in walking distance. The casino on the board is now permanently shut, but there is one around the corner. Our room was spacious and clean, with coffee making facilities. Staff really friendly and helpful. Not all bars on board were open last week, but that could be due to the time of year. We really enjoyed Gibraltar for the 3 night stay.

Much of the hotel was great. The staff was wonderful. I cannot give five stars because the Internet is atrocious. It continuously drops and is unavailable for a few minutes at a time. Trying to respond to emails that should have taken 10 minutes took over an hour because of the connection continuously dropped. The hotel is also advertised as a casino. There is no casino in this hotel. There is one a short walk away that is quite small with slot machines and a few tables like blackjack and roulette. Like many places I’ve discovered in Spain the pool closes quite early. 7 PM. They also close the entire upper deck where all of the outside lounging is at at 7 PM and it is not accessible for guests to use. This was quite frustrating. The location is excellent. Many bars and restaurants within a two minute walk. Excellent food, choices and drinks. It is also about a 15 minute walk to the tram to get on top of the rock. The tram ticket will get you into all of the attractions within the entire Gibraltar rock park. It’s a full day but well worth it.

We loved the novelty of staying in the yacht and the room was a very generous size. Great shower and good bed. The balcony seating was lovely, we overlooked the restaurant and bar area which was quite noisy in the evenings. The pool area was small and people tended to put a towel down, then left and didn’t remove their towels. Consequently we couldn’t get a sunbed despite there hardly being anyone there when we arrived. They should have a policy of removing towels if people go for lunch etc. but we had a lovely stay and would recommend it.

Lovely yacht at the point of entry. Staff seem welcoming however on checking we were given a 3 star room, door seems broken with a gap, see through glass door to the bathroom, toilet and shower, no privacy what-so-ever. Stained and dirty floor. We were 2 mature ladies travelling for the first time. After complained we were offered a twin room but on viewing the room, the other receptionist booked in someone else in, knowing we were in it viewing, leaving us no room. Am grieving after my dad's passing and just needed time out for a few days. The checking process did put a negative start to my stay and felt very uncomfortable.

Well positioned for staying in Gibraltar. We walked from airport to yacht which involved crossing the runway - not something you do often! We had rooms at the front which were huge but no balcony. The windows were filthy and I asked for them to be cleaned but reception tried to day it was a covering on them but we thought otherwise. Food on board is excellent - breakfast choices delicious and good menu for evening dinner. Cocktails were reasonably priced and great value during happy hour. An enjoyable stay and lots to see in Gibraltar.

We enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfortable but the mattress slightly saggy a sign of age. The bedroom ceiling could have done with a spring clean. The staff were very good. The WiFi was not good at certain times of the day which these days is easily remedied. The reception staff were particularly good and the breakfast really outstanding. The location is perfect and we would certainly stay there again.

Had a wonderful stay on the Sunborn Gibraltar - deluxe cabin with a balcony overlooking the marina. The hotel was immaculate, with lots of high end features. The staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay so much, we booked another trip for later in the year before we'd even checked out ! Thoroughly recommended - 10/10.

Das Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bett sehr unbequem, Matratze sehr durchgelegen. Zimmer hellhörig und somit laut. Für eine Nacht war es ok, würde ich aber nicht nochmal machen.

Nice hotel but i wouldn't class it as a 5 star hotel. Could do with a refurb as the decor is quite dated and some areas could do with a deep clean. Lovely staff though.

I am kind of surprised no one mentioned the wifi as we pretty much couldn’t load anything with it during our stay. I was impatient enough that I used my data instead. The speed was soooo slow, definitely didn’t expect it from a 5 star hotel. Also, since we stayed on a Friday night, they had live music show blasted all the way from 7pm to midnight. It was very loud. I understand maybe some people like it though I’m too old for that. If you prefer a good night sleep I think you are better off elsewhere. However, service was excellent and employees were polite. Their breakfast was one of the best I have had. Very good taste and selection. Room was also very spacious and we got a free upgrade.

This is not a 5* hotel, it's situated perfect for the shopping centre is the best I can say for it. The room was clean but tired, bed is excellent, however it was not a good night's sleep due to street and hotel noise, towel were rock hard and threadbare, tea & coffee was ok if you wanted no more than one cup or just fruit tea. Definitely not worth the £280 a night price tag

Hotel was excellent. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco on arrival. Our room was excellent ,size,bed,cleanliness. View from balcony was lovely. The bathroom was great. It was big and spotlessly clean. We had lunch in the restaurant on our last day , it was amazing and great value for money. Hotel is in a great location near the centre and bars and restaurants . Check in/ out was seamless. We will definitely return and woukd highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms were fantastic. Very roomy. Lovely harbor or bay views, breakfast was amazing, deck on South sise warm and sunny. In a ship harbor with tons of different restaurant options. Quick walk to old town. A great unique experience.

Oodles of style. Lacking in substance. The hotel is indeed luxury, beautiful spacious modern rooms will all mod cons. However... my room was mere metres from the stage area used by the pub next door. Between the live music, rowdy customers, bar staff emptying glass bottles in to bins and what I can only assume to be elephants either employed or patronising the hotel bar immediately overhead, sleep was hard to come by. Perhaps some investment in sound proofing and noise reduction alongside the chandeliers and colour changing lighting would be prudent. Am also currently in dispute and awaiting refund for inaccurate minibar charges applied to my credit card after checking out. More consistent welcoming of guest would also be advised, whilst other guests were supplied with welcome drinks and luggage delivery to their rooms this is inconsistent. If this is only applicable for those booking your most premium rooms, it's not a good look to remaining customers

If this is only applicable for those booking your most premium rooms, it's not a good look to remaining customers

Getting a glas of Cava when you checked in by a friendly informative receptionist was great and it made you feel welcomed! Got a great room on 6th floor facing the airport runway. SOO cool to see the flight land and depart. Nothing but surreal and interesting! The gym was also great with all machines and weights you need. A clean and hot sauna looking over the harbor. So nice! The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel. Clean, nicely presented and the staff pampered you the see that everything was 100% to your satisfaction!

As an Expedia VIP Gold tier member, I sent email to reservations who said that an upgrade would be given if available upon arrival. hotel reception disagreed and insisted they do not give room upgrades whatsoever despite the listing on Expedia having VIP access and my account saying I’m entitled to it and me showing them the email from their own reservations team confirming such We had booked two rooms and requested adjoining rooms so we could be close to our 14 year old. The hotel reservation team confirmed availability, yet on arrival the hotel reception wouldn’t do this either. No amount of discussing this would get them to budge. And it became embarrassing stood at reception having to try to stick up for what I’m entitled to and had been agreed with their own team. At this point I emailed back to the reservations team, but have not yet heard back (I am now home). I also contacted Expedia through chat, they were less than helpful telling me to discuss with hotel. The hotel was hardly full - judging by the amount of people at breakfast, dinner and in the bar. Plus the hotel pool & area was closed - leaving just one small area to sunbathe (with approx 10 sun loungers and a similar number of deckchairs. My advice is don’t book here. The only thing 5* is the price. The hotel has seen better days, customer service is far from 5*, breakfast is ok, food in Barbary restaurant is average, some amenities are closed despite Expedia’s information.

Hotel was excellent. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco on arrival. Our room was excellent ,size,bed,cleanliness. View from balcony was lovely. The bathroom was great. It was big and spotlessly clean. We had lunch in the restaurant on our last day , it was amazing and great value for money. Hotel is in a great location near the centre and bars and restaurants . Check in/ out was seamless. We will definitely return and woukd highly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel is clean and boat is interesting but the service is far from 5 Star. The tall blonde mature man in the bar/ breakfast area who wears black glasses offers zero service in the bar. I complained about his poor service but it was simply put down to the bar being busy!!! The Bar was actually 95% empty at the time so I disagree with this excuse. It was also very disappointing that the same guy blanked both me and my wife at breakfast and offered zero service. Clearly he knew I had complained about him and therefore totally failed in his job role of serving and supporting ALL the visiting guests. I will give further detailed feedback via Trip Advisor. This guys behaviour meant we did not eat or drink at the Sunborn outside of breakfast as his ability to provide basic customer care was simply shocking, so we drank and ate away from the hotel each day.

If you going to stay in Gibraltar then why not stay on this great ship. Really good rooms with a view, super clean and very helpful staff. Restaurant prices on board were v good as well and the food itself was just great. Wouldn't hesistate going again if and when I go back to Gibraltar. The hotel itself is very good but our stay there was ruined by something out of the control of the hotel, our balcony overlooking a building site yard for properties being built nearby, from 8am untill 6pm there was constant noise drilling, cutting, and shouting so we couldn't make use of the balcony during these times and even with the balcony doors closed the noise was still loud.

We loved the stay, the boat was fantastic. The breakfast was amazing, definitely worth including that. We also paid extra for the facing out view towards Spain, which was a great call because facing in towards the marina is looking over the Irish bar which is loud with live music til late.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay even though it was only one night. Nice comfort room on the six floor overlooking the harbour with view of the airport runway. Straight forward check in and out as l had done this by phone prior to arrival. Breakfast ideal good selection. Choice of this hotel was because it is closed proximity to airport 20 minutes walk no requirement for taxi or bus.Plenty of places for drink and eat at night time also within walking distance

I found it difficult to work out which of the bars were in use every evening - it changed every night i stayed there often for private functions.
