The room was lovely. Very nice furniture and bed. Everything you needed during your stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A bit concerned about one of the two lifts being broken which according to the letter on the door, was going into the second week. A bit worried as to what would happen if the remaining one was to break down with people in it!! That could happen! Are there any stairs? This also caused quite a delay at times. Very noisy at throughout the night with the trams and trains going by so would probably not use you again.

The unit is well located for access to the city, but is best without a car. Parking in the area is difficult even to drop your bags off. The unit is very clean and well presented. Staff communication is good but could be a bit better.

Entire building could do with updating. One lift only working for 28 floors, wait times terrible. Had issues with tv and shower, tv rectified quickly. Bedrooms very small, difficult to walk around bed. Some blinds can't open/close.

Loved my stay here. Apartment was very clean, reception staff were friendly, and kitchen was very well equipped. I also used the gym which had lots of machines (for an apartment gym) and also great views. The location was fab, not far from the bus station for the airport and close to the restaurants along the river. Honestly I didn’t want to leave

I wouldn’t stay here as there is no dedicated parking for patron, however ecellent condition inside and of gym and rooftop. Fantastic stay just the parking was a hassle

Convenient locarion close to Yarra river and Southern Cross train station. All essentials present, nice big fridge and decent cooking facilities. Property slightly tired looking, A/C could use some maintenance (slightl noisy and has a broken flap). Gym looks okay (didnt use), nice view from 28th floor terrace. Clean and quiet in as far as there was no noise from the hallway, though the trains can be heard even in the rooms facing the opposite side, which was the biggest drawback for me. Light sleepers wishing to sleep past 6:30am on weekdays and 7:30'ish on weekends might prefer to stay elsewhere.

Penthouse was a great size and very comfortable for price. Elevator didn’t stop at our level 8pm-8am which wasn’t ideal, but luckily we have no issues with a few stairs.

This property was so convenient. We were able to walk to most places within the CBD with the option of a free tram. Kitchen had everything we needed. Laundry was in the room, nice. The bed was super comfy. The small gym on the 28th floor was convenient and had really awesome views. We were on the 12th floor so I slept with earplugs as I could hear the traffic noise. Despite this, I would recommend it and stay there again.

Room was fine, sadly still some things needing to be addressed. The lobby outside the lifts on Level 2 stank & the carpets were dirty with rubbish, inside the room the carpets were stained. It seems that in my last three visits that I've slid from a higher floor, to L8 to L2, my next booking is for January & I worry that i'll be out in the laneway.

The Canvas Hotel was really comfortable with modern furnishings. The only downside was there were some really bad stains on the carpet in the bedrooms. The carpet either needs to be replaced or cleaned thoroughly.

No sleep. The train noise was so loud that it was the most disrupted sleep I've had in a long time. The 'bedroom' is glass walled without a curtain, so bad luck if you had a partner with a different sleep schedule. The aircon is only in the main room, not the bedroom. If you want your room serviced, it's an extra $30 per service (noting that they will give you new towels for free). It was also grubby. A body cream with the seal broken was in the bathroom, there was dust all over the aircon and telephone, stains on the ironibg board cover, crack through the coffee pot. The staff were all very professional and the bed was comfortable.

I enjoyed staying here but the place is due for a refurbishment to keep it competitive. The shower had some mould for example and other facilities were starting to look tired. Friendly reception with a tram stop right outside the door.

Room looked nothing like pictures, the pictures made the room very large with “two large double beds” which was two singles pushed together. Barely enough room space to walk around the bed in the main. Bathroom was tiny. Was very loud all night.

I was in studio on 26th floor with window facing down the river to the east. Good: Comfy bed, good shower. Pretty well equipped studio. Good location for convention centre and Southern Cross Station and cbd trams. Good value at time for price paid. Bad: noisy, terrible air con that didn’t air-cool the space. It was a single unit beside sofa that only cooled around it and not the glass enclosed bedroom. It was so noisy and with changing noises that it was hard to sleep. The fridge audibly whined even though it was enclosed in a cupboard too. I am not usually noise sensitive but this impacted my sleep.

The apartment assigned to us was at the 3rd flr and if you’re a light sleeper try to request a room in a much higher flr as you can still hear the street noise from the 3rd flr. The apartment is equipped with smart TV, washing machine, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, oven and gas range. Air conditioner is located in the living room only. Wifi connectivity is good. Water pressure is ok. Less than 10 min walk to Southern Cross station and there’s a free tram stop in front of the hotel.

The apartment is good in general. However, our apartment does not have bedrooms aircons. Aircon was only available in living area, and we needed to keep our bedroom doors opened to let cool air to get in. We were having hot days during our stay and temperature at our bedrooms was definitely not cool enough.

Beautiful place to stay right in the CBD and near Southern Cross, Bourke Street mall etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the view was lovely from the top floor. Apartment is spacious and clean. Just a couple of things: the bedroom is divided from the kitchen/living space with a glass wall, so you can't really do much without disturbing a sleeping partner (e.g. turning lights on). We would recommend blinds for the bedroom to fix this issue. Also, heating services the entire building, so the room felt a bit warm. Fortunately, there is an AC and windows that open. Would definitely stay again!

The apartment itself feels more squished than a normal apartment hotel. The bathroom was a bit small, and my head touched the mirror when using the bathroom sink. It had everything you'd want in amenities though. Even had a small gas stove, full size fridge, washer and dryer. For the price the river view was excellent though.

The hotel itself is in a great location, we had a great room on the 25th floor with a nice view but it was very noisy with the trams and trains throughout the day and night. There was overnight roadworks at the front of the property that we were not informed about. It would have been nice to have been informed about this when we checked in. We also had no access to Wi-Fi during our stay which was included in the price. The shower head was also broken and wouldn't stay up which was inconvenient.

I came to Melbourne for work and my flight was delayed. The staff was very helpful in organising a pre check-in, just in case I didn't arrive before the front desk closes. Room is neat and convenient. Nice views of Melbourne from the gym. Great location, close to the major train station and trams.

We called front desk so many times during our stay because no one would answer whenever we called. For small things, like a hairdryer, or to arrange a late check out. And not to be petty, otherwise I would’ve said something in person, but the hotel said they’d do something special for our anniversary, but did nothing. Their words, not mine.

Location is great for accessing the river walk, docklands and CBD so is close to many attractions and restaurants. The room has lots of windows....but you are in a fishbowl which other hotel rooms across the narrow alleyways can see into and since the bedroom has a glass wall from the living area so you need to keep the blinds down. Also really dark as the building was shadowed by those around it. Check-in was not smooth. I contacted them two months in advance to let them know that I would be arriving after their 8pm closing time. They told me they would send me a link to submit details to do a late check-in 24 hours before my arrival date. This never happened, which meant I had to call them to find out where this link was...and even then they didn't give me the information until I was in the air (and hoping that I would have the access info when I landed).

Also really dark as the building was shadowed by those around it. Check-in was not smooth. I contacted them two months in advance to let them know that I would be arriving after their 8pm closing time. They told me they would send me a link to submit details to do a late check-in 24 hours before my arrival date. This never happened, which meant I had to call them to find out where this link was...and even then they didn't give me the information until I was in the air (and hoping that I would have the access info when I landed).

the room was well equipped and spacious, but we were very disappointed towards the staff’s attitude. When we reported noise from the AC and cockroach at room, the staff, who was unfriendly and not helpful at all, simply told us there’s nothing could be done. I don’t expect such level of hospitality indeed.

In Mel to catch up with family. Great location for train, trams, bike hire, bars, pubs etc and to stock appt from supermarket and bottle-o. Reception staff super helpful and everything worked like clockwork. The trainline is close (and noisy to start with) but close the windows and it’s quite acceptable (I’m a light sleeper and no probs). View great from 19th floor. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.
