It is a nice, modern, clean and inviting hotel. Right next to the University. The split bedroom/livingroom kitchen is awesome. The staff went above and beyond (especially the cleaning staff). The parking is horrendous!!!!!! I missed the fine print that its $54 ($59 after fees) daily and you have no public parking!!! Once they take ur car, you've got either, 3 guys taking their time or 1 guy running his ass off (depends on the time of day). Im not sure if the parking company can see this, but the guy you had on the morning of 9/9/2024 6am, is awesome....Pay him his worth!!!

They do a great job with hospitality & cleanliness at this property. We continue to stay here primarily due to it's location to the school, convenience & they take dogs. The staff in every area are wonderful & accommodating. We're loyal to this hotel for all of those reasons. The parking is expensive though...

The parking is rather expensive. We gave our number and ticket to the valet who ending up forgotting about us. After waiting 15 mintues and watching other guests get in their cars, we asked where ours was. The valet said he would go get it. No apology for forgetting about us; no apology for the long wait. A rather disappointing end to an otherwise nice stay. Unfortunately, that's what sticks in my head about this property.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was great, room clean, and breakfast good! We loved the rooftop bar and live music. The bed was a bit too soft for our taste, but that is the only thing we would have changed. Great stay.

Stayed here with my niece who was touring Berkeley. This property was super convenient. I wish it had self park. The only option is to valet or find street parking which was nonexistent. The rooms were suites that were clean and had a kitchenette. Spacious enough for us both to have our own space which was great. Complimentary breakfast was amazing with so many options...it was tough to decide. I really had fun with the make your own waffle station. The hotel.staff was very friendly and made check.in and out easy. Oh, in the rooms, you can stream to the tv which was nice but there are several good channels available too. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! I also recommend it if you are visiting Berkeley and need a hotel.

Staff were friendly, room was clean and quiet, the free breakfast was great and rooftop patio was amazing. BART less than 2 min away, UCB a few minutes away. It was a perfect stay for my short trip to the Berkeley area.

Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. The hotel had recently had a pipe break and were using machines throughout the building to soak up water. No one told us this when we checked in and they gave us a room still in process of being cleaned for water. BIG machine in room, everything in disarray. when we called about it they said they would send someone up to collect machine. and hour later, no one had come. we called again and again no one came. We finally went down to front and got another room on another floor. AGAIN the room had a machine but also towels on floor and a dog bone and someone had laid in bed. Finally got a clean room on third try but we had to tell staff to make sure the room was ok before we went up. Then later when we asked for more towels, no one came. I actually felt sorry for the staff as they were obviously short-staffed and overwhelmed.

Heavy Cigarettes smell in my room and had to change rooms. Hour long check in. Later broken bathroom sink. Extremely uncomfortable mattress. Location is awesome 👍 good walking score to Bart and restaurants.

The room was exceptional. A good amount of room, including a spacious living room/work desk/kitchen area; a bathroom and separate sink area; and the bedroom. Hotel and room were clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was included, which is great, but don't expect it to be excellent. Thank you for a great stay in Berkeley!

I attended a conference on the UC Berkeley campus and needed a place to stay. This hotel was extremely convenient allowing me to walk to campus. Valet service was easy and the front desk clerks were nice. My family accompanied me and we were able to stay in a spacious suite. The beds were comfy and the amenities were great for the family. There is a small Target store very close by for last minute items or snacks. My only complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was extremely poor for such a nice room.

I stayed there on 8/24 and had booked via Expedia, paying the full amount through their platform. Upon check-out, I was charged at the hotel for the night which I had already paid via Expedia. I called and spoke to Faith twice, and she assured me that I would get credited and that it was their mistake. It's now been more than 8 business days, and I still haven't received the credit to my credit card.

Excellent location, updated rooms and friendly staff. Even though the check-in was delayed, the staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the morning crew did a great job keeping the area clean and cleared - all with a friendly face.

We drove our spare car and it’s pretty old. A BMW pulled up and the guy was getting everything out of the trunk, putting it on the luggage carrier and completely helping the people. We pull up, we’re not greeted, we have to walk up to the valet and ask them if there’s other parking since they were ignoring us. My husband went and checked in and he had to get everything out of the car himself no offer of help. Another car pulled up, a Lexus, and they were helped very fast as well. People were being helped based on the car they had. Husband gave them the key and we came to our room. The funny thing is we would’ve tipped. And because we drove my husband’s crappy car, we got crappy service from the valet. The room is amazing. The front desk staff was amazing.

The staff was very accommodating...the house keeping manager came to help me after my son got sick and was so sweet and helpful. She literally cleaned up from my sick son and went above and beyond to help me! I tried to give her a tip and she said it was her job... A huge thanks again to that lovely lady!!! Hotel is clean and feels safe and i love the welcome gift and great breakfast!!! I will stay again!!!

The front desk people were, as always, fantastic. Faith, Kiyerra and Marco were so helpful, professional and accommodating. I can't say enough about them. Really and truly. We adore Joe Jackson as well. He's always hospitable and willing to go the extra mile. We feel so great about staying at this hotel. Our friends tell us over and over that we simply must try to Fairmont Claremont due to its elegant and historical setting, etc., but we have no interest in staying anywhere but the Residence Inn when in Berkeley. It's great in every way, but the staff make it even better. And speaking with Faith the other day reminded me that the culture there is high-touch and very human. I love that.

The only negative was the reception desk. We booked and paid online for a city view. The desk said they didn't have any. When we pushed back, she said we got a good deal online implying that we hadn't paid enough for a view. When we showed her the confirmation she did give us a nice room on floor 7 (of 17) which did have some view. The rest of desk service was a similar experience.

The hotel takes less than 5 minutes to walk to Berkeley School, and the subway is within 3 minutes, and there are many restaurants nearby, and the hotel breakfast is excellent. The staff was friendly, the hotel was safe, and it was so nice.

Thoroughly delightful place to stay! The room was super clean and quiet. The morning breakfast was varied and plentiful. Also, the location was great! Walking to the University of California campus at Berkeley was easy and safe.

I went for Berkeley’s graduation, very nice, clean, not stuffy, eveything worked fine. Would recommend. 10mnts from train to San Francisco and a 5 mnt walk to Berkeley campus. Great location!

I had a fantastic stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Berkele! The location was extremely convenient and just a short walk to Edwards Stadium, which made it perfect for catching a Cal Women’s Soccer game. Go Bears! 🐻⚽ The front desk staff were welcoming and professional, making check-in and any questions throughout the stay a breeze. I also really appreciated the team in the dining room. They were friendly and attentive, helping start each day off right. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berkeley, especially if you're here to support Cal Athletics!

Loved that this property was pet friendly. Saw alot of homeless and mentally ill individuals around the area. Beautiful bay view at a distance. Regardless, It was a pleasant stay. I will be back.

Staff were friendly, room was clean and quiet, the free breakfast was great and rooftop patio was amazing. BART less than 2 min away, UCB a few minutes away. It was a perfect stay for my short trip to the Berkeley area.

Excellent location, updated rooms and friendly staff. Even though the check-in was delayed, the staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the morning crew did a great job keeping the area clean and cleared - all with a friendly face.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. This particular stay was for a concert. I love the convenience to the Berkeley campus. Every time I have stayed here I have eaten at the study hall – rooftop dining.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was great, room clean, and breakfast good! We loved the rooftop bar and live music. The bed was a bit too soft for our taste, but that is the only thing we would have changed. Great stay.

Stayed here with my niece who was touring Berkeley. This property was super convenient. I wish it had self park. The only option is to valet or find street parking which was nonexistent. The rooms were suites that were clean and had a kitchenette. Spacious enough for us both to have our own space which was great. Complimentary breakfast was amazing with so many options...it was tough to decide. I really had fun with the make your own waffle station. The hotel.staff was very friendly and made check.in and out easy. Oh, in the rooms, you can stream to the tv which was nice but there are several good channels available too. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! I also recommend it if you are visiting Berkeley and need a hotel.

We stayed here when it first opened and it was excellent. Since then, the front street was changed from one way to two way and made approaching and pulling up for valet a bit of a challenge. The first time, the included breakfast was pretty good. This time, despite telling us the breakfast was open until 10am, when we showed up about 9:45 almost everything was gone and they said they had run out of food. I'm not sure how they run out of food when they need food every day of the week. Must have been an ordering or delivery issue with their food.
