Fantastic location and rooms are very comfy. The staff were all very friendly and spoke English well. We had a great time in Avila and the fact that this is right at the castle gate and forms part of the castle wall makes this place so special as well as easy to get to. Parking is secure and easy too.

It's a decent hotel in a convenient location. However the pictures of the room we've seen in Expedia were not of the room we were given. While the building is an old one, it is completely redone inside so the rooms are just regular hotel rooms. At least our was. So I felt a bit cheated expecting a room shown on the pictures. Parking is limited. We got the last spot. You need to reserve your spot in advance to guarantee it. But overall it was a good stay.

This is a beautiful hotel built into the huge stone walls of Ávila. We were on our second visit here and it was even better as we had a room with the lovely fresh and health breakfast. Every staff member we met was friendly and very professional making our stay great. The parking is good easy to get to private onsite and open air, great for an suv driver. We love this hotel see you again next year.

Lo mejor el trato con el personal, y lo peor por decir algo,el parking ya que es de piedras y no es nada práctico ya que en nuestro caso íbamos con un bebé y las ruedan no giran.

Es un hotel muy bonito pegado a la muralla. Con terraza (cubierta) y bar y restaurante. Las habitaciones son modernos pero con detalles conservados de la antigüedad como las vigas y algunas paredes de piedra y adoquín. Lo único que en nuestro baño, al ducharnos por la mañana, los pequeños azulejos del suelo se despegaban por lo que molestaba al pisar. Se aconseja coger parking para el coche ya que aparcar cerca del hotel es complicado. Todo lo demás perfecto.

Que hotel!!! La mejor elección de todo nuestro viaje. Dormir en una habitación preciosa, cómoda, moderna, impecable, con la muralla abrazándonos. Increíble que nuestras paredes sean la fortaleza que protegió a Ávila y sigue imponiéndose con su belleza y perfecto estado. El Hotel también tiene un restaurante con cocina de primer nivel. Esperamos un tiempo considerable por un arroz delicioso. Quiero hacer mención que en front desk nos atendieron maravillosamente dándonos un poco de historia del lugar y advirtiéndonos que a lo largo de nuestra estancia quizás pudiéramos encontrar residuos de la muralla por que se desprenden minúsculas partículas de la piedra y sí que encontramos “unas migajitas en la cama” al despertar y nos encantó tener un poco de vestigios de historia. Felices de habernos hospedado en el mejor hotel de Ávila. La casa de mi hermosisisima y queridísima Santa Teresa de Jesús.

O quarto e grande, cama muito confortável e estava impecavel, roupa de cama e toalhas super cheirosas, O Hotel é lindo. A localizacao nao podia ser melhor. Uma das parede do Hotel é o muro da propria muralha . O restaurante do hotel é magnifico , o Daniel e o David foram especiais demais no atendimento e a comida estava maravilhosa, sem duvida um dos melhores atendimentos em restaurante de hotel que ja estive.

The hotel receptionists at check-in and check out were both wonderful and very helpful. The hotel is very beautiful and the rooms spacious. Unfortunately we had a poor experience in the outdoor bar in the evening where a waiter was incredibly rude when we attempted to order which left a sour taste.

A lovely welcome at reception from Carolina, very helpful and obviously happy in her work. A lovely lady. Food on outside terrace was excellent. I asked for a meal that was different to the menu, they happily provided. Superb service.

The building and grounds are beautifully maintained. Parts of the city wall are incorporated into the building. The old beams and brick and stonework inside makes it feel like being transported back in time except it still has the elegance and comfort of modern times. The staff was amazing. They made sure we had everything we needed. When my mother wasn’t feeling well, they came to the room to check on her and offered to get her access to a pharmacy. They gave her extra water and even checked the room temperature to make sure she was comfortable. Very caring and professional.

This Property is amazing! The hotels is within the walled city of Avila, the best preserved early middle age fortress in the world. The walls encircle an area of 33 hectares and contains a functional city. The Sofraga Palacio hotel has been built inside a palace begun in the 1500's and upgraded in the 1800's. They have built modern, tasteful accommodations within the original walls. They left exposed whatever walls and beams they could while not compromising the modern hotel. The way they abruptly transition between the two totally works. Beware; the hotel gives a 10% discount coupon for their restaurant BUT if you sit in the portion of the restaurant OUTSIDE the hotel’s exterior wall, you will not get the discount. The waitress was not attentive. It took us 2 hours to order our food and have it served. The food was very good… the service was… not.

Only stayed one night but this hotel was fabulous. The staff are so helpful and lovely and the rooms are beautiful. We ate in the hotel and the restaurant is fantastic. The suckling pig is outstanding. I wish we could have stayed longer but will return. Avila looks lovely.

Just 1 night in avila. Hotel very central, has own parking 15 euro a day for hotel guests. Also service very friendly and a la carte breakfest was excellent and included even jamon iberico high quality.. you can order as much as you want..also price was 167 Euro per night including breakfest in premium room, which i consider as real bargain.

Vorig jaar waren we hier ook. Een heerlijke plek en een fijn hotel met een ruime kamer. We vonden het ontbijt niet te vergelijken met vorig jaar. Weinig variatie in brood. Vorig jaar kon je a la carte bestellen. Restaurant voor diner was weer top. Vriendelijk personeel.
