Everything was very good with the exception of very false and misleading advertising on Expedia when it came to the pool. The second photo of the facility on Expedia which comes up - even before the pictures of the rooms themselves - shows a large pool with waterslide which is actually not on the property and not part of the hotel. There is a caption below referring to it as “the pool” and describing it. The actual pool is, in fact, a small outdoor pool shown later on in the group of hotel pictures. I changed my booking from a downtown Victoria hotel specifically so my kids could have the use of the pool and waterslide pictured while I completed my triathlon. When I addressed this issue with management, I was told that the picture of the large pool is posted as a “point of interest” only. My phone was flashing red at night until I figured out how to clear 4 messages from it that were still on there from 4 months prior. Other than that, the staff are courteous and responsive, the free breakfast at the restaurant is very good and the room is clean - but if you think you are getting the big pool with waterside with the property, be forewarned.

Room was nice, staff were friendly and helpful. Only small maintenance issues during 3 week stay: bathroom faucet was loose and spun side to side. I asked twice to have it tightened but it was never. Cleaning wipes in the gym were empty and asked to have them restalked 2 days in a row, only restalked on the 3rd day. Same rwmote batteries for the stereo/TV in the gum

Very good parking. My room was not ready for 30 minutes after check in. The TV did not work and the bathroom faucet was loose. Daily cleanings had to be requested. Very nice restaurant and bar. Very food. Friendly staff

Post-COVID hotel stays have been interesting. I don\'t know about you but, prior to the pandemic, the cost of staying in a hotel included daily cleaning. Now, it doesn\'t; however, the cost to stay in a hotel has not decreased. The "check-in talk" should include the rules regarding daily cleaning of your room. But fair warning, even if you request it, it might still not happen - as was the case at this hotel. It is SO disappointing, after a long day out and after requesting your room to be cleaned and made up, returning to a room that is still as you left it. I don\'t understand. And then the excuses fly when front desk staff are called on it. Aside from that, it is a nice enough hotel and property, parking stalls are tight.

The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful, but unfortunately, the room was not clean. There was visible debris on the walls, and the space felt quite worn. The location, however, was convenient — close to restaurants, grocery stores, and right along the main bus line to downtown Victoria. During our stay, there were both jockey teams and wedding guests at the hotel, and the walls were thin enough that we could hear conversations late at night and early in the morning.

I feel like I was duped which is never a good feeling for $400 / night. A suite, with too much furniture to pull out the couch bed, no utensils. Small and cramped would be an apt description of the suite rooms at this location. The door at the back didn't lock properly. The back door had access to all the other rooms back door joint patio and pool. The pool always seemed to be being cleaned whenever it was a good time for it to be in use. The room safe was locked when we needed to use it, and the front desk, couldnt help us unlock it right away and asked me to wait until he was ready to help us. Felt kind of like I was staying at a motel, but paying prices for a 2 bedroom penthouse. The patio railings wood is rotting, and i think this is a hazard as it might fall down 1 story if its not upgraded soon. The breakfast and service at the lakes restaurant was excellent, but aside from this, I think the hotel itself, needs an upgrade in clealiness, service, locks, pool, general cleanliness. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.

Was nice except you expect the TV to work correctly! Had to get up to point the remote to back of TV to change channel. Said they would move us to another room. Was late we were already un pack and that was after they worked on it for a half hour. Said they would send some one up the next day. It worked in the morning for the short time we were there. Then shut it off and when turned on didn’t work right again. Frustrating for sure!

My overall visit was good.What I found that will prevent me from singing at this particular location is that it was very noisy. The windows seemed.Maybe they were not doubled for noise reduction, lots of traffic noise. You felt like you were literally sleeping in the middle of the highway from 5am

Only thing I was disappointed with was the pull out couch . The mattress was totally brutal . If you are needing a place that supplies a comfortable pull out this is not a place I would recommend . I always have to sleep on the pullout because my wife can't sleep with me because of my snoring etc.

Perfect location, just 15 minutes from Swartz Bay and downtown Victoria, away from the crowds. The room was spacious, clean, and exceeded expectations for a three-star hotel. The bed was firm, pillow soft, and the sitting area was a nice touch. Friendly staff, easy check-in/out, and free parking make this place a winner. I’ll definitely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed here a few nights while moving our son to Victoria and we highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were big, clean and modern. Great view from our room and it was conveniently between the ferries, airport and city. We didn’t use the pool but it looked nice. We would definitely stay here again for our next trip.

The room I got was literally right next to the elevator and the ice machine ... in that I shared a wall with each of them. I heard the ice machine humming all night and people getting on/off the elevator. Then the plug for the tub didn't work. They sent a very young lady up who couldn't do anything. She did try to find me another room, but apparently they all had the same issue. And, the TV didn't work. So not really the best experience.

There wasn't anything to dislike about the property. Had a great sleep in a comfortable bed. The room was large enough to relax in. Plenty of plug in's. We usually try for a breakfast included hotel, and this one doesn't support that. I did miss that

If it were possible to give this hotel ZERO stars I would. Do NOT stay here. The room was in terrible condition, there was an incredible amount of noise from both highway and hallways and when we asked not to stay a second night they refused to allow us to cancel and told us that my complaints did not meet their cancelation policy. There is NOTHING in their cancelation policy to protect the consumer or allow you to receive a refund for subsequent nights if the hotel doesn’t meet your standard. Manager here is absolutely unhelpful, refuses to assist you in any way. Do not waste your time.

Karamvir, who checked me in signed me up for the rewards program and it didn’t take very long at all! Then he sent me a text asking if everything was alright with the room assignment! The room was large, clean and fresh! I think it was said in a movie … I’ll be back!

I checked in on Thursday Night around 10:30pm The guy at front desk was very nice & helpful. But my experience with housekeeping was bad ! I put sign for cleaning service on my door & even talk to her to clean but she totally ignored us & I was in that room for 2 nights but no fresh towels & without cleaning. I even went to front desk on Friday morning & told a girl about this but nobody cares. I paid almost $900 for 2 Nights 👎👎👎

Stayed for almost 2 weeks and I experienced a great service by all staff members, specially Front Desk team. I visited Victoria to help my son settled down and Holiday Inn Elk Lake was probably one of the best choices I made, extremely well communicated/located, easy access. First night, second night. Our breakfast options were okay, found the food combinations were challenging. The staff who served us were touchy and at times rude. By the third night the following morning breakfast we found was a different menu, enjoyable and different staff was much nicer and kinder. Room itself was clean, but we continually had to ask for more toilet paper as only the one on the roll was provided. Had to finally ask them to please put 2 rolls in our room!

Convenient location to highway but quiet and in great condition. Staff were all wonderful. Would love to have better coffee in room and improved dining experience- although new, ambience was a little lacing. Otherwise great!!!
