The host is great. Unfortunately, the location and furniture are not. Going uphill on the unpaved road to get here was a nightmare, even in a huge suv. It's full of uneven lumps, holes & ditches. Once you're up, you don't want to go back down or up again, especially when it rains. The bathroom water, toilet & fridge water are brown. Couldn't shower here. The sofa is awful. Small 3 seater, hard leather. Doesn't fit 2 people laying down to watch tv so it was very uncomfortable & not "cozy" at all. The bed is hard, really hard to sleep on & the pillows are flat. There’s nothing romantic about this get away. I don't recommend this for couples, maybe just a single man in a truck. The worst part is the kitchen curtain that doesn't close all the way down, you can see everything in the house from the outside. The neighbor walking the dog off the leash is really annoying too because it will drive your own dog nuts. Very sad & disappointed to have spent 1200 here. Would not come back to this location as a couple or a single woman.

Overall Experience: Our stay at the Lake House Chateau was mostly pleasant. The space was clean upon arrival, and the listing’s description and photos were accurate, which we appreciated. The chateau matched our expectations with only one major exception. The Hot Tub Issue: Unfortunately, the hot tub was a major disappointment and impacted our experience. The water was green with a layer of scum on the sides, as shown in our photos. This was especially frustrating since the hot tub was a key reason we chose this location. We felt let down by its condition and could not use it during our stay.Host Response: We notified the host, who responded quickly: “I’m very sorry about the hot tub. We had to top it off with well water, which has many minerals that react with the chemicals. If you run the jets for about 20 mins, that will help. The hot tub was treated prior to your arrival.” We appreciated the explanation, but the suggested solution did not resolve the issue, and the difference in water color from the listing photos was shocking. We also didn’t notice any chlorine that should keep the hot tub clean.Summary: While the Lake House Chateau is clean and accurately represented, the unusable hot tub was a major letdown. Future guests who prioritize a hot tub experience should confirm its condition before booking. Otherwise, the property is as described and maintained to a good standard.

The hottub should be cleaned thoroughly before guest arrive not green. The dirt road leading to cabin was in terrible condition and would prevent me from booking this home again. And a dresser in the bedrooms would be a nice addition.
