Stephanie was excellent in keeping in touch, answering questions, and went above and beyond in preparation for our stay. A few snacks were very welcome and she was very responsive on some minor issues after arrival. We did not use the patio (front or back) during our stay due to the heat but was a nice space. There is plenty of space to park and the location is excellent for access to Lexington. We would definitely request to stay at Stephanie's in the future for a large group.

The house was very large and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The views from the front and back of the house were beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the sun porch each afternoon as it was a little too cool to sit on the front porch. The host was very responsive and went above and beyond during our stay. My only complaint would be that the house could use a good dusting and window washing. I stayed with my 3 sisters and we would definitely stay at Water Trough Hill again. Thanks

We really enjoyed our stay at this home - it was SPOTLESS, very well appointed with many "extras" provided by the owner. Great common spaces, including a porch and outdoor patio. While we were only two, this is a great place for a group. The mountain views are really lovely. We would definitely stay here again. Only minutes from Lexington.

This rental has everything you need - from a well-appointed kitchen, lots of linens, supplies of all kinds including toothbrushes, shampoos and soaps, to breakfast items and extra ice. It is a sprawling house with a lot of room to spread out. A large, enclosed back porch is a great place to visit and take a nap. There are several areas on the property to set up yard games. Highly recommend.

The house accommodated our family of 7 as we were in town for my nephew's wedding. There was MORE than enough room.. I was the florist for the weekend - and having access to the screened porch, the large kitchen with work island and long dining table - made my work so easy. The views back porch for sunrise, front porch for sunset - were spectacular. Stephanie was immediately helpful every time I needed a local suggestion - whether it was food, grocery store or local greenhouse for additional materials for the wedding. We are already planning a return visit in the fall just for relaxing!

What a fantastic option to stay at while showing at the Virginia Horse Center. The house is a quick, easy drive from the show grounds. Check in is easy The house is so well stocked with everything you need, including things you might have forgotten like toothbrushes and shampoo. There's plenty of extra towels & linens too. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on the front porch while watching a family of deer wander by. This is SO much more comfortable than a hotel. We'll be back!!

House is bigger than it looks in the pictures! Beds were super comfortable and the house was well stocked with everything you need for a visit. We were in town for my son’s wedding and hosted a family dinner for 20 people one night with plenty of areas for people to sit, chat and play games. Great communication with host and woke up with deer in the yard every morning Uoulp be surrounded by great views with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy them.

Our favorite feature of this house is the beautiful views from all windows. The rooms are spacious and clean. The house is well-stocked with toiletries, kitchen and laundry products, thick towels, etc. - more than other places we’ve rented. Stephanie is a pleasure! We were seeking a quiet week of relaxation, and this rental was perfect for that. But, there is much to do in the area and plenty of space for children to play inside or outside.

Amazing host! The most beautiful 360 degree views! Every room had incredible Mountain Views. Very peaceful setting with lots of room for our family. House had so much charm with the original oak and pine wood floors.

We were stopping through on our way to the Great Smoky Mountains and had a lovely time here. It was exactly what we were looking for. The house has ample space and is nice and quiet. Make sure to do the Lexington Carriage Company historic tour, very informative!

Stephanie was welcoming, helpful, and supplied us with everything we could possibly need. The house is spacious and beautifully furnished. The view from just about every room is spectacular. There is a lovely walking trail along the Maury River only minutes from the house and Lexington is a ten-minute drive with it's cute shops and great restaurants. It's just perfect for a vacation or a gathering of friends and family.

Host is wonderful, considerate, very helpful & friendly. Provided fresh fruits, cake, milk, coffee, etc. for breakfast. Loved meeting her horses too. Home is spacious, well supplied with linens & toiletries. Location works well, is near Lexington, Buena Vista & major roads. Highly recommend.

Stephanie is an incredible host. She pays attention to every detail and is very accommodating. There were baskets of necessities in every bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked. There was a cake, fruit and milk waiting for us. We visited the horses with Stephanie. The house was spacious and comfortable. We had an amazing weekend and will definitely be back. We highly recommend staying here!

My family came for a visit so my son could check out VMI. The host was amazing and so responsive. The property was nice distance from VMI and provided the perfect retreat. We loved all the wildlife that we saw during our stay.

What a fantastic option to stay at while showing at the Virginia Horse Center. The house is a quick, easy drive from the show grounds. Check in is easy The house is so well stocked with everything you need, including things you might have forgotten like toothbrushes and shampoo. There's plenty of extra towels & linens too. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on the front porch while watching a family of deer wander by. This is SO much more comfortable than a hotel. We'll be back!!

Our favorite feature of this house is the beautiful views from all windows. The rooms are spacious and clean. The house is well-stocked with toiletries, kitchen and laundry products, thick towels, etc. - more than other places we’ve rented. Stephanie is a pleasure! We were seeking a quiet week of relaxation, and this rental was perfect for that. But, there is much to do in the area and plenty of space for children to play inside or outside.

3 sets of sisters (7 of us) spent a delightful long weekend at Water Trough Hill. The house met our needs perfectly! Lots of room to spread out; 4 bathrooms was a bonus; the views are amazing with outstanding sunsets; the kitchen is well stocked; there was plenty of hot water and lots of big fluffy towels. Stephanie is a great hostess. She had the house opened up for us, fruit on the counter and milk in the fridge. She was very responsive to any inquiry we made and was happy to introduce us to her ponies. We would love to stay at Water Trough Hill again!

Stephanie is an incredible host. She pays attention to every detail and is very accommodating. There were baskets of necessities in every bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked. There was a cake, fruit and milk waiting for us. We visited the horses with Stephanie. The house was spacious and comfortable. We had an amazing weekend and will definitely be back. We highly recommend staying here!

The house was very large and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The views from the front and back of the house were beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the sun porch each afternoon as it was a little too cool to sit on the front porch. The host was very responsive and went above and beyond during our stay. My only complaint would be that the house could use a good dusting and window washing. I stayed with my 3 sisters and we would definitely stay at Water Trough Hill again. Thanks

I highly recommend this location for any occasion. We were here for my daughter's graduation from W&L. Outstanding communication with Steph. Outstanding property. Outstanding location. The house and property are well-kept and everything was in place for a fantastic stay. Our extended family stayed at the house for two nights and hosted a celebration for my daughter and her friends on one of the nights. There is plenty of room for hosting inside the house and on the front patio and back screened-in porch. Phenomenal views of the mountains. Beautiful, mature trees provide plenty of shade on the front porch in the late afternoon and early evening.
