The guest house was just right for a weekend celebration. It’s the most thoroughly stocked with supplies and needs of any rental we’ve used over many years. It could not have been easier and the host is thoughtful and proactive. We were ten minutes or less to all the major restaurants. Clean, comfortable and beautiful!

This is a beautiful suite! So spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed and so many nice extras and special touches. Julie was a joy to work with; communication was easy. She followed up to see how we were doing, even making nice suggestions for things to do around Highlands. The location is great, just outside of town but close enough to make an easy trip of anything we sought to do. We will definitely return and are looking forward to it!

My husband, mother and son stayed at the Hummingbird Suite for a wedding at The Farm at Old Edwards. Not only was the suite so conveniently located to the wedding site but it was extremely close to the cute little downtown area as well. The Hummingbird Suite far exceeded our expectations! Julie was easy to contact and antipated any need of her guests stay. Some of the amenities we foud were, robes, smore makings and pokers, snacks, coffee/hot chocolate/ creamer, filtered water station, hairdryer, steamer, special make up towels, high quality shampoo/conditioner, and extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The place was private, quiet and clean- it did not feel like it was attached to a larger home and felt very safe. Highly recommend!

The house was great, and just as described in the listing. Notably closer to downtown than the map would suggest (which was a plus!). The hosts clearly went out of their way to make it feel like home which was a very nice touch. Super comfy bed. But the outside fire pit was easily the best part, and really a gigantic plus on the overall experience. Would stay again just for that.

The cottage is off the highway, secluded and very quiet. There is a lovely patio on the far side. It has chairs, a fire-pit (S’mores) or just a soothing fire. The bed is so comfortable and has a dresser and closet. The great room includes a small refrigerator with a freezer, assorted ways to make coffee and tea, and beer/wine/soft drinks to get you started. There was a backpack, two pairs of hiking sticks and other outdoor gear. The hostess and her husband could not have been more hospitable and caring. We plan to go back and if you desire to go to Highlands, NC this is the best place to be. Kudos!

Your guest house was perfect for our yearly anniversary trip to Highlands! We absolutely loved all of the extra special touches including the robes, teas, coffees, snacks, etc. It was also beautifully decorated! We wanted to enjoy a fire on the patio but it was too cold and windy! Maybe next time!

I really can't put into words how amazing and accommodating Julie is and how private and cozy and clean the property is! We really enjoyed the smore's fire pit on the patio, playing board games and relaxing in the luxurious space. My most favorite part was how clean it was and everything was so comfortable and relaxing. Our daughters adored the murphy bed and the living room with the bed out is actually still so spacious - even more so than the photos suggest. Also, we timed it, it's only 3 minutes to Highlands which was another huge plus. We can't wait to go back again!!!!!

Spent a lovely weekend at the hummingbird suite in the Highlands to celebrate my 41st birthday with my boyfriend. It’s a Cute little guest house cottage with calming decor and plenty of space including a separate living room and courtyard. The location is right down the street from town and close to several nature spots. The homeowner, Julie, was more than accommodating and provided many recommendations on hiking and dining. My favorite part was all of the thoughtful touches including a “happy birthday” sign put out in the garden. We Will definitely be back!

This was a lovely place to stay and highly recommend it. The hostess was the most impressive I’ve seen and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The house is stocked with everything you could imagine from hiking poles to picnic backpack to games to all kinds of refreshments… she even included holiday fun for our kids. The beds were comfortable as well. The place is about 10 min drive from the downtown area. The only minor critique is the floor corners seemed to have some missed vacuuming but overall felt clean. We will definitely be back

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend at the hummingbird retreat! It was plenty spacious and the host really thought of everything! I.E. wife forgot her phone charger, boom! Iphone chargers were on BOTH nightstands! 10/10 experience!

Such an exceptional stay, possibly my best short term rental experience (and I've stayed in many!). Often, you find that hosts cut corners or try to skimp wherever they think they can get away with it, but Julie is the complete opposite. There are so many thoughtful and luxurious touches all over the place, and it's so tastefully put together in every way. Location was extremely convenient to Highlands main st as well as several hikes. My only complaint if you can call it that is that the photos really don't do this place justice!

We had a great time in The Highlands. The Hummingbird Suite was exactly as described. Our host Julie gave us several restaurant recommendations and we enjoyed all our meals, especially Thanksgiving at the Oak Steakhouse. Thank you, Julie!

Such an exceptional stay, possibly my best short term rental experience (and I've stayed in many!). Often, you find that hosts cut corners or try to skimp wherever they think they can get away with it, but Julie is the complete opposite. There are so many thoughtful and luxurious touches all over the place, and it's so tastefully put together in every way. Location was extremely convenient to Highlands main st as well as several hikes. My only complaint if you can call it that is that the photos really don't do this place justice!

As a husband who rarely gets it right when trying to do for my wife, I actually hit it out the park with this VRBO choice. My wife is an event planner who has stayed at more 5 star hotels than I can count and for her to give me the thumbs almost made me cry with joy! This is a beautiful suite! So spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed and so many nice extras and special touches. Julie was a joy to work with; communication was easy. She followed up to see how we were doing, even making nice suggestions for things to do around Highlands. The location is great, just outside of town but close enough to make an easy trip of anything we sought to do. We will definitely return and are looking forward to it!

My husband, mother and son stayed at the Hummingbird Suite for a wedding at The Farm at Old Edwards. Not only was the suite so conveniently located to the wedding site but it was extremely close to the cute little downtown area as well. The Hummingbird Suite far exceeded our expectations! Julie was easy to contact and antipated any need of her guests stay. Some of the amenities we foud were, robes, smore makings and pokers, snacks, coffee/hot chocolate/ creamer, filtered water station, hairdryer, steamer, special make up towels, high quality shampoo/conditioner, and extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The place was private, quiet and clean- it did not feel like it was attached to a larger home and felt very safe. Highly recommend!

The house was great, and just as described in the listing. Notably closer to downtown than the map would suggest (which was a plus!). The hosts clearly went out of their way to make it feel like home which was a very nice touch. Super comfy bed. But the outside fire pit was easily the best part, and really a gigantic plus on the overall experience. Would stay again just for that.

The cottage is off the highway, secluded and very quiet. There is a lovely patio on the far side. It has chairs, a fire-pit (S’mores) or just a soothing fire. The bed is so comfortable and has a dresser and closet. The great room includes a small refrigerator with a freezer, assorted ways to make coffee and tea, and beer/wine/soft drinks to get you started. There was a backpack, two pairs of hiking sticks and other outdoor gear. The hostess and her husband could not have been more hospitable and caring. We plan to go back and if you desire to go to Highlands, NC this is the best place to be. Kudos!

Spent a lovely weekend at the hummingbird suite in the Highlands to celebrate my 41st birthday with my boyfriend. It’s a Cute little guest house cottage with calming decor and plenty of space including a separate living room and courtyard. The location is right down the street from town and close to several nature spots. The homeowner, Julie, was more than accommodating and provided many recommendations on hiking and dining. My favorite part was all of the thoughtful touches including a “happy birthday” sign put out in the garden. We Will definitely be back!

The guest house was just right for a weekend celebration. It’s the most thoroughly stocked with supplies and needs of any rental we’ve used over many years. It could not have been easier and the host is thoughtful and proactive. We were ten minutes or less to all the major restaurants. Clean, comfortable and beautiful!

Your guest house was perfect for our yearly anniversary trip to Highlands! We absolutely loved all of the extra special touches including the robes, teas, coffees, snacks, etc. It was also beautifully decorated! We wanted to enjoy a fire on the patio but it was too cold and windy! Maybe next time!

This place felt like staying in a luxury hotel. Not a full “cabin” or apartment (only a kitchenette), but cozy, private, and pampered by the host. Having snacks and variety of coffee and tea options was an unexpected and welcomed touch. I think the only thing Old Edwards would have on this suite would be the downtown location!

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend at the hummingbird retreat! It was plenty spacious and the host really thought of everything! I.E. wife forgot her phone charger, boom! Iphone chargers were on BOTH nightstands! 10/10 experience!
