The Villa Rosa Hotel & Self-catering Apartments

We had a great time at Villa Rosa. There was a delicious breakfast every morning, great dining and activity recommendations, and friendly staff. The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. Parking was easy and convenient. Thank you for making our honeymoon special!

What I liked. Very convienent location. Room was beautiful. They gave me an extra duvet which was nice. There was a very nice guard at night who would see us to our car and make sure we were ok. The beds were comfortable the water was hot . room was gently heated not over heated. It is on High Level rd which can get busy in the day but it didnt bother us at all. Lighting was a bit dim but we were ok. Would definitely come back.

We could hardly have wished for a more wonderful way to start our trip to South Africa than staying at the Villa Rosa Guest House in Sea Point for 6 days. The location is perfect: one block from Main Road with all its shops and eateries, two blocks from the ocean front road with its long esplanade that is perfect for strolling. This area felt very safe for walking around, including after dark when we walked back from eating out in the neighborhood. Even so, the guest house compound felt extremely secure, with multiple locked doors and gates. The guest house itself is a small, charming bed and breakfast, and each room (we looked in several) seems to have a unique character. We stayed in Room 11 and would choose it again, as it is particularly quiet and private — far back from High Level Road (which gets a fair amount of traffic at certain times of day), enclosed in the middle of the compound, and has its own small outdoor “courtyard” with a fountain and sitting area. The room itself is spacious, with a comfy and old-fashioned sitting area (complete with fridge and tea/coffee station) separate from the bed, and a refurbished modern bathroom. Everything was clean and well kept, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were especially good (even compared to the other B&Bs we stayed at elsewhere on this trip), with a different main choice every day, each more delicious than the last, in addition to all the other breakfast options one might like. Sea point is a convenient location - easily walkable. Good value for the price - would stay here again!

Stayed in a pleasant large room (Room 2) with confortable King bed. The ceiling fan, which was more than adequate for the heat. Room was cleaned spotlessly daily, with fresh towels. Large tiled bathroom with strong shower. Discrete bedroom wall safe for personal items. I was initially concerned about the traffic noise from High Level Road from my last stay in the 1990s, but the current owners have installed opening double glazing so sound was never an issue. Complimentary beach towels were available on request. Cleaning and serving staff were friendly and efficient. My only constructive feedback is over breakfast. Of couse I realise staying over a month anywhere would become repetitiive. Though the tasty hot element changed daily, it would have been nice to have a fresh fruit salad option too. (Apples are always available) I would recommend The Villa Rosa to anyone, and hope to return again before long. Thank you to Steven and Greg, along with chef David.

We Had the Appartement. Good choose

Everyone on property was very friendly and helpful - particularly Chelsea and David! We enjoyed walking to the restaurants and shopping just a few blocks away, and getting to the V&A waterfront was very easy via car. It served as a great home base as we explored all of the wonderful sights in the area. Just note that you’re staying in a converted farmhouse so it’s not “modern” but has lots of character and charm. WiFi was a bit slow, but again, not our main purpose on the trip. Loved the espresso machine and not having to worry about breakfast in the mornings! Overall, highly recommend for a stay so you can enjoy being at the seaside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but with easy access for anything you need.

Muito bem localizado, equipe muito educada e atenciosa, ótima limpeza e roupa de cama. Uma linda casa, com escadas para quem hospedado no andar superior, apenas um andar a mais. Ótimo chuveiro e banho. Muito bom café da manhã com ovos individuais feitos na hora.

Estamos muito satisfeito com a estadia no hotel. Um ótimo atendimento desde a chegada até a partida, a acomodação muito aconchegante e bonita, roupas de cama impecável e de banho também. Todos os dias que retornávamos para o quarto havia sido limpo. Sobre o café da manhã: totalmente perfeito, com variedades a vontade e os pratos principais sempre apetitosos.

Such a wonderful welcome, room was nice, clean and super comfy!! An umbrella was on hand for the drizzle as well and the breakfast was superb!!! Would definitely stay there again!!!!

The location is great — a short walk to the waterfront walkway. The check-in is easy, the property area feels very safe, and the breakfast offering is superb. I also really appreciated the fresh milk in the room’s mini fridge for making my own tea. I will definitely return next time I’m in Cape Town.

Staff were all excellent, in particular Chelsea was most informative and helpful. The dissadvantage to the room we stayed in was the lack of privacy between the bedroom and ensuite as there is no proper door between the rooms. Instead there is a pair of badly fitted wardrobes doors with a 3inch gap at the bottom. The shower was dated and needs upgrading.

Rooms facing the street are rather noisy and room 2 has no privacy as there is a balcony of room 1 right behind the window of the room. Overall, it’s a lovely place and the staff is super nice. It has a very good vibe and the location is superb!

The place has a very good and friendly vibe and very nice attentive staff! My room No 2 was not the best as it has a big window facing the terrace of room No 1 so there is not much privacy. However, it is a very good location with many restaurants and the promenade nearby. It also is a cozy and comfortable place and good value for money! Would stay again but would try a different room.

The owners are always on site, and hugely accommodating. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere!

All was good and friendly

I felt very welcome and loved the overall atmosphere. The food was delicious, the room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and the area felt safe. Easy access to hiking trails just a few blocks away and downtown was walkable in under an hour (or uber was never more than a minute away). I would absolutely recommend and will definitely stay at the Villa Rosa again if I am back in Cape Town.

Villa Rosa is ideally situated within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beachfront.

Quintessentially old school Cape Town B&B, right in the Center of Sea Point. The hosts were friendly and made me feel welcome. I found being in the center too noisy for me but being within walking distance of shops & restaurants may outweigh that for others.
